Weight 117.6, calories 794. It will be slow going down, I image. I have my PCP physical and my 2 year surgiversary checkup in a couple of weeks so I'd like to be down in the low end of my weight range for those. It helps me to have a goal...
Today is bright and sunny today again, but we have running around to do. This morning I take DH to an ophthalmologist at the recommendation of the clinical trial people as they saw some abnormalities in his baseline exam. This afternoon I have a PS checkup. Everything has healed well on my most recent eye-lift surgery, but I want to ask about the raised scars behind my ears from the facelift surgery 15 months ago.
Justice walked EVERYWHERE yesterday. I think he likes his new world. He had 3 walks in the neighborhood (so he's got that all scanned), plus one walk on the beach and another through the woods leading up to the ocean. Lots of great smells, and he is quite friendly with all the other doggies he meets. And DS has fallen in love with the little guy. He got him some toys yesterday. The monkey is th biggest hit for chasing and playing tug of war.
Have a mostly good Monday!

I saw these on FB but love seeing them here, too! Your pics never get old. And, Justice is even friendly with other dogs! What a great guy to have as your sidekick. And I love that he seems to be everyone's sidekick, not just stuck on one person.

Yes, he is a little love. Not your typical chihuahua. A couple of small boys were admiring him and commented that they liked the squares on his back (LOL - they are where he was shaved for the heartworm shots).

Good sunny Monday ! Last night when I got up to use the bathroom about an hour after calling it a night, I got light-headed and crumbled in a heap on the carpeted floor. Because of severe arthritis in both knees I am unable to bend my knees enough to kneel. Well, my acrobatics caused me to kneel with all of my weight mostly on my left knee. Biofreee, pain killers, muscle relaxers and ice today. On the positive side, I didn't hit my head and my full weight is not as full as it once was. Will reorganize my day and evaluate wether or not this injury will preclude tomorrow's colonoscopy. I am currently not mobile enough to trek back and forth to the bathroom.
Focus for the day, push through it and bounce back !

I'm sorry that happened! I hope your vigilance with ice and whatnot works. You can always reschedule the colonoscopy (who wants to do the prep anyway?).

Oh no! Is the lightheadedness a regular thing for you? Maybe that needs checking out too? Can you borrow a pair of crutches from anyone you know? Bathroom visits are crucial!
I fall a lot (clumsy and my mom once said it was because my head is too far from my feet ). Last summer I landed on one knee on the gravel driveway. Oh my god. So much pain for soooo long. It was two months before my knee would bend reliably going down stairs. I hope you heal faster!
Good morning!
I'm planning to get to the park at about sunrise. Then long hike thru All The Hoodoos and then jump in the car an drive to Zion. I have enough hoodoo pics for months. Maybe years. That means all of you will be seeing hoodoos for a long time :)
About food....when reviewing hotels for this leg of the trip, a few people mentioned that even the grocery stores had few healthy food choices. To prepare, I stopped at a Trader Joe's in Vegas so that I would have food for trail and hotel. TJ itself can be a trigger for me.....so many slider foods I love! I put "don't buy junk" on my shopping list which seemed to help my impulsive brain. I still bought more than I needed.
Last night, I was having trouble falling asleep and I told myself I "might" be hungry. Nighttime, by myself, in hotel room would have spelled certain death for slider foods if they had been available. And while I ate when I probably didn't need to, it was Mandarin oranges and turkey. Environment controlled so damage was minimal.
I have really had to talk myself out of going to a restaurant here. I know I could have, I have calories to spare. But, fried food, even burger/fries (gasp!) never leave me feeling better than before.
So, I bargained that while in Zion, I'll probably eat out a couple of times. There are at least 2-3 organic restaurants there. I don't have to have organic, but organic restaurants usually have fresh, non-fried, food that tastes good. I always feel better walking out than walking in.
Make time for recess,
Shel
The trees at Zion have to be tough. Deciduous need not apply.
And while there are not as many trees as there are hoodoos, they do tend to photobomb every pic
I found at least one pic of bride and groom.
And, general hoodoo village pictures
