Weigh 117.2, calories 1735. Yep, calories were up again, but the pre-Florida leaving parties are over now.
Packing started yesterday and has to finish today, I sent a 72.5 pound box of clothing and shoes home via UPS. I am leaving some stuff here and some won't return next year, but I am just not ready to not have my favorite things with me. I'm hoping to have two checked bags, one carryon and one dog in a bag. We will have the option of 2 more carryons, but I think that will be enough.
I'm also picking paint colors so the place can be painted while we are gone. I think I have most of them picked but the "neutral" is too yellow, so I need to find something lighter. If necessary I can do that from home but may try to wrap that up today. I have the colors painted on poster board so I can tape them up in various places to see how they look in different lights.
Have a thoughtful Tuesday!

Devon, I feel your loss over the stolen student work ð??'. Congratulations on the five point majors and eating ! Liz, safe travels ! Are you SURE you shouldn't stay through Memorial Day !? If this was my condo and I had my dogs, I wouldn't hurry back! BB, great job raising a contented baby ! Thinking of you and DH... When are you planning to start back to work? Dave, hope you are progressing toward pain reduced living. Ann, those small cruises are fabulous. Cruised down the Nile just before the uprising on a 100 passenger river boat and met some lifelong friends. Paula, I hope Been has found some relief. Keep making time to fill your reserves as you caregive. Cecily the number of compromised cliffs and hillsides is alarming. I can absolutely see how heavy rain triggers catastrophic landslides !
Had an authentic Mexican breakfast in Tijuana, because we could. Getting into Mexico was basically talking to a customs agent at a stop sign. Getting back into the US was an hour long fiasco! Cars wait in barely moving lines for so long, unrelenting vendors set up encampments between the lines and try to sell souvenirs, food, beverages. Luckily, customs itself was a breeze. I made it 24 hours with three earrings in one year and two in another. Could not do it and went back to regain symmetry. All of my meditation, chakra balancing, running of energy etc. involves establishing balance. I am SO about balance. Ann, DD has different earring in each hole..I could work toward that expression of creativity.

Diane O.-not sure. Some of that depends on DH's work situation. If he gets let go then we're going to take a vacation to Florida to visit family. Either way it'll probably be after Memorial Day. I'm definitely beginning to feel the split personality most moms probably feel. Being at home is work--a lot of work in fact! But for me I miss the interaction and the sense of accomplishment from working where people can say "I really liked your brief" versus feeling like what did I do today? I didn't even get the dishwasher unloaded! I believe every woman has to do her own calculus on this and decide what is best for her and her family. I do not mean to say one way is better than the other, just that I think each individual should do what makes her most content. And, I reserve the right to change my mind! Becca has already changed so much in a month. And I'm glad I've been here to witness it. If DH isn't let go/finds another job quickly and I find it too difficult to put her in daycare, then I may stay home.
Devon-I was very sorry to hear about the thieves. I get pretty cynical about the state of our world when things like that happen. Continue to be the positive!
Weight was up today. Don't understand. I thought I ate pretty well yesterday. So today I'm plugging in my fitbit and going to try and start tracking calories. Even if I'm not "losing" I was a benchmark.
Yesterday's eats:
B-Crack an egg ultimate scramble and coffee
S-2 tangerines
L-white chicken chili and 6 crackers
S-Fiber one coconut almond protein bar
D-bacon-wrapped pork loin (3 oz. or less), very small sweet potato (under 5 oz.) with pat of butter and spoonful brown sugar, green beans, 4 oz. red wine
I found that working part-time gave me the best of both worlds when my kids were young and made it easy to go back to full-time when I was ready. Just an option to consider...

I've now tried the "Just crack an egg" ultimate scramble and Denver scramble. I don't like that the nutrition on the back is not "as prepared" so I'm guessing in adding the egg, but it's about 240 calories, 20 fat, 4 carb, 15 protein. I think mine was under $2, but of course you have to add an egg.
Jimmy Dean makes one similar (both are located near the eggs/creamer stuff) and the meatlovers comes with a packet of 2 pre-beaten eggs to add. The nutrition on the meatlovers was 300 calories, 24 fat, 2 carb, 23 protein. I think the big difference is the Jimmy dean is 2 eggs so hence the higher calories/protein/fat. And since it comes with the eggs, that's why it's pricier.
I really liked all that I've tried. I've tried frozen egg meals in the past and yuck. I love that it's ready in 2 min. and primarily protein. It can get a little costly for breakfast. I saw it referenced that Sam's might have the crack an egg. But then again I spend $1 on each yogurt that I almost always trash (I hate yogurt but really want to like it).
Greetings Peeps and Peps
147.5 today after I got up for the second time. Got up early due to a text from brother about tax stuff, weighed and it was worse, went back to bed and lost a pound. Go figure. But I dozed with the TV on and learned everything there is to know about Stormy Daniels. So I am getting a slow start on this sunny day in paradise.
BB thanks for the information on crack an egg. I want to try that. I have eaten GY every day for 8 years pretty much and its getting a bit old.
And yeah BB, you are right that every mom has to figure out the work/home thing. No matter what it mostly falls on the mom. It will work out somehow and I am glad you don't seem to be stressing too much. I am one of few people my age who had two working professional parents. My mom didn't like being stuck at home with kids. But I turned out ok as did brothers.
Diane O, balance indeed!! I have been known to wear two black socks that were not a matching pair because I couldn't find an actual pair. But around here, formal attire means having pants on.
Safe travels Liz. You are wise to ship stuff back. Luggage and the carry on situation are the worst part of travel. Good luck with the paint colors.
Hey Peps, so sorry about your car break in. What kind of fool criminal would steal kids papers and teacher stuff. What were they thinking? I once had my car broken into and they stole my brief case and a canvas bag. All that was in it was meaningless papers from our little garden club. That and they took an old trac phone. The worst part was a broken window. Boo on that hotel. But what a weekend on the wins!!! You cleaned house!!!
I have an unscheduled day which I like. Some stuff I need to do with banking and such but it does not have to be today. I will do some of it and reward myself with studio goof off time.
Paula, thinking of you and Ben and the Caring Bridge post. Wishing you both peace and comfort. Also no more snow.
Well the coffee is gone and time to get a move on. Gee its only noon here. Diane S
Hi Liz,
Look at Kelly Moore in the browns to yellow hues. You're more likely to find something in that range of color. Then if I may be so bold, get their Durapoxy formula. It is the absolute best for dogs - even little ones. The paint is TOUGH! I have a house full of dogs and my house is small - 1450 sq. feet. I have not painted in ten years and if I wash the walls with a little ammonia water they look freshly painted. I'm not kidding. I love Durapoxy with a passion!
Weight was still down this morning. I ate like a normal person with an eating disorder, so I believe that is a real weight I'm seeing on the scale. I am going to have to rethink my D day. The ONLY REASON being that I am still not done with my freakin' taxes (never have I been this close to the deadline - EVER! Sort of freaking me out!) I am not going to have time today to prep the food I need to prep to be ready and armed for a detox. I have to be prepared. I am thinking I will move it out to Friday or Saturday. I don't want any excuses to rely upon to derail my effort. IF I have to be flexible on the front side, I'd rather do that.
I am feeling a bit more centered today after having sorted through some of my "life on paper". For someone who used to be so clerically organized as a young man, I find it an interesting study to find myself less and less concerned about such organization, yet when I let it go, it really does bother me. I have finally given up balancing my check book, too. Instead, I reconcile my checkbook against the bank statement and as long as I'm within a dollar, I don't really care. I usually always have less than the bank says I do, so I go with what I have to play it safe!
I am feeling on the precipice. Of what I do not know, but something is going to happen soon. My insides are positioning for change. A change is coming. I am welcoming it, whatever it may be. It's an odd thing, but I can feel it approaching. I don't understand this sense, but I've had it since I was little. I've learned to trust it. Sometimes I can sense what is coming, but not this time. Something is coming. But, I'll be damned if I know what!
Gee, Devon -- your feelz could not be MORE West Side Story!
I hope you win the lottery. :)
