I got a full 8 hours of sleep last night -- woke up several times but refused to get up. When I do that, I always go back to sleep. I'm learning that, for me, turning over and trying to relax is a critical sleep hygiene behavior.
I'm trying to stabilize my menus and weight. It's harder than I wi**** were. I hydrated very well yesterday. Got some stuff done, but rested a good deal as well.
Yesterday's 8 veggies/fruits (yea!) came from green grapes, fresh pineapple, an apple, kale/spinach, bamboo shoots, carrots, plantains, and blueberries.
Today's going to be go-go-go all day long with errands and appointments. But first I'll get back in the pool. As noted above, getting back on the horse this time is harder than usual.
Today's theme (shared with me by an Al Anon friend): Do the Next Right Thing.

LOL on the placeholder! It is nice to see Marilyn instead of me on the list!
Weight 118, calories 1049. It needs to be an austerity week for me so I go back into the middle vs. the top of my comfortable range. According to MFP, I was this weight last year on this date, but back then I would bounce back to 115-116 after a day or 2. Now my low is about 1.5-2 pounds higher. I know this is very little, but I fear that accepting a little means accepting a lot.
Thanks again for the advice yesterday on SIL. It makes sense that I should tell SIL what my needs are. She has a history of always deferring to others and I guess that is what she has been doing. As you suggested she may think that's what I want. So I need to explicitly ask for help in planning at least meals half the time and some activities. I did ask her to plan dinner for tonight. I have to a bit patient though, because she tends to think about things for a LONG time before taking action so sometimes they just don't happen. She planned her new kitchen for two years and it did happen, but she has been planning building a garage for almost that long and it hasn't happened. DH sometimes was like that on home projects, so I often took charge when that happened.
Have a meaningful Monday!

Had some firsts yesterday ! Hiking at Torrey Pines I led the way with DAD and DH struggling a bit to keep up. I passed many hikers on the trail up, a foreign experience for me ! (Going down was a totally different story, as the impact on my knees factored in) We went out to brunch and then hit an upscale piercing salon where DD and I each had matching studs pierced into a third hole in one ear. I am an obsessively symmetrical person and having one ear with three holes and one with two is totally outside the box for me, but that is my goal for this phase of life... happily exploring outside the box. May be heading to Tijuana or Palm Springs today. DH is being an indecisive stick in the mud..

Diane, as a natively symmetrical person you may wish to know that the cool way to wear earrings this year is wearing different earrings in each ear. Or different numbers of them (as you now can).
You're welcome. ;)

That hike sounds fabulous and I understand the thrill of being ABLE! If you don't already have them, you might pick up hiking poles from REI to spare your knees on the decline.
Funny about the symmetrical. I have always preferred non-symmetrical :)

back in the office today. only worked a 1/2 day on friday because the 2.5 days of sitting at a desk caught up to me and my back needed to recline. this week is the last week my doctor wants me wearing a binder so need to take some breaks. My incisions are starting to bug me, mostly because I think my skin is dry. i have a couple of scabs that need to come off after which i think I'll be ok to moisturize. have stitches starting to pop up, was able to just pull a few out. I imagine my doc will snip any that i could't remove while I'm there at the end of the week.
Dying to have a bath...I miss them, they are my relaxing time. Hope I'm cleared for those after seeing the doc this week.
was 135 ish all weekend, woke up this morning and 137.4, no reason. Just random.
Tilapia with Salsa and Guac for lunch today. Haven't made that in a while...so looking forward to it.

Yes. thanks Ann, I am lucky to be a quick healer. LBL incision is completely healed and with the exception of a couple of pin ***** sized areas scab free at week three. I consider myself lucky.
