Weight 118.6 (yikes!), calories 765. Water and being around the house for quality potty time should drop me under the top of my comfortable range, but clearly I keep hovering here. I need to get lower in my daily averages. I think that will happen once I'm home, as there will be fewer times when there are events with snacks and less consumption of wine.
Where is everyone in the morning? I see my face too much again!
The next few days will be prep for leaving: Today there is lots of laundry, some packing and a contractor coming to do estimates for some work we may do in the fall. By the end of Tuesday, the fridge needs to be emptied of anything we can't leave for a few months, the lanai furniture and garage screens have to be brought into the garage, and the box of clothing we are shipping has to be sent out at UPS. Wednesday morning (early), the sheets need to be done and put back on the bed, the final packing for the flight done, and the charger put on the car. We need to leave for the airport at about 10.
I wonder how Justice will like Cape Cod? I imagine it will be quite interesting to him. Once he gets acclimated (and the yard is dry enough), I need to train him on the invisible fence. That should be a challenge, but he is pretty smart so hopefully won't be a big deal.
So with all that said, since we talk about everything I need to get something off my chest. I've always been pretty competent and like to have control, but was able to share responsibilities and confer with DH in the past. Of course that can't really happen now as half the time he doesn't understand what I'm asking so I have to make the decisions on pretty much everything. Then he gets mad at me periodically for doing everything. Which isn't the issue because it is expected, but... I've shared the drinking of SIL in the evening with you. Not a big issue - she just gets more talkative though it does get on my nerves due to my years growing up with my alcoholic Mother. What does get on my nerves is that she NEVER plans or suggests ANYTHING, whether it is an activity or a meal. She won't go to the pool unless I do. I have to plan going to the beach, on a boat cruise or out to dinner. She has been "planning" to call the yacht club to check if there is reciprocity with the one she has been a member of for the last 3 months to see if we can eat there but she still hasn't. I decide if we go out to dinner, eat in, cook dinner, what we cook and if we are having leftovers. Even when I try to ask what she wants to do she always says it is up to me. Can I just say that I feel very burdened by ALWAYS making all decisions? Okay, that's off my chest.
Have a super productive or restful Sunday!

Oh Liz (((Hugs))). Maybe just talk to SIL and let her know that since you have to make all the decisions for Paul, it would be nice to not have to make all the decisions for everyone. Perhaps she can plan and make dinner or plan an outing 2-3 times per week. I know I get sick of planning too - then we just have a FFY (fend for yourself) night!
139.4. Still not tracking and eating some things I shouldn't even though amounts are not too much.
We are getting just dumped on with snow. Blizzard warnings and everything is closed. We lost our land line and internet and even cable for awhile yesterday but all is back for now. I'm just happy we didn't lose power, but that could still happen. I think we will get a foot of snow just today and it has been snowing all weekend.
ooooo, no WiFi, did your blood pressure go down and you felt ultra relaxed?
I think it was best, overall, that you did not move to Florida. But, that snow! I could understand a few inches but that volume is over the top!

Good morning!
Hey Liz, I'm up pretty early in the morning but unlikely to be a regular starter of the thread on days I work. Please enjoy the sweet unstructured sleep of a retired person whenever you can. The thread will get started, eventually, I would think.
Speaking about being retired, apparently SIL didn't get the memo. This could be funny if you weren't picking up seriously disturbing DH caregiving duties. Personally, I am most bothered that she, of all people, must feel DH's impairment in her own heart, and isn't pitching in. I can't remember.....does she also move back to the Boston/Cape Cod area?
DianeO, I have been meaning to tell you that my official Clinical Pharmacist meeting had a Reiki provider speak! How cool is that???? Definitely not our usual topic but so fascinating! Also, I am vicariously enjoying your time in CA!!! Don't get weird about step numbers :) However, it is fascinating to see how living intuitively seems to increase them. Good job going to REI, I feel healthy just stepping in the store.
Taxes are complete! I make it sound like I wait til the last minute (and technically I do) but underlying prep work was completed as reports dribbled in. I like to think my rather large offering went to National Parks (HA!) DD got a refund.
Plans for this rainy day: 90 minute workout later. If rain even slightly lightens, I'll take Buster out for a walk. (Buster has more technical coats than most people which I used feel silly about until Fergus got a car.) And, as always, general house duties beckon and I'll visit FIL.
Totally OT: here is a new reason that a patient declined to increase blood pressure medication. (And for the record, I truly am ok with not wanting to increase medication. I provide info. Patient decides next step.) He just got a WiFi blocking system for his house and he suspects BP will come down with less WiFi bombardment. And, he has inserts in his shoes for the same thing for when he is away from home to offer some protection tho not as effective as the house system. I have known this gentleman for 10-15 years and he (obviously) is a fan of alternative health measures. I honestly think he might benefit from Reiki hmmmmmmm
On the other end of the spectrum, I'm thinking of David who might be therapeutically microwaved soon, but only if he is lucky enough to be a candidate. Crazy world! I would do it in a heart beat to help that pain! Also, glad that the tornados didn't form.
And, as if this isn't long enough, DianeS, I made lentil/ham hock stew. Come on up and enjoy a bowl. I was a bit short on lentils so I threw some farro in there. (I'm prone to "ancient grain" marketing. And, for a grain, it has a fair amount of protein) It blended in aok.
Find time for recess!
Shel

And I, in turn, am very happy to see your posts return!!!! Your trip sounded wonderful --- you were bathed in friendship, food, drink and steps. Fabulous.
I have never been to New Orleans! That might be a place that DH and I can agree on.

Shel, NOLA is one of those cities that you can do low-, middle- or even high-brow. Its history and culture and everything else about it are incredibly complicated. It's one of those places where loyalty / affiliation is based on neighborhoods and the city, not the state or the country. The town is full of saints and sinners -- and most folks there identifiy as both.
You can go back again and again and only scratch the surface. It goes deep!
