Weight 116.8, calories 1141. A fair number of those calories were in wine. We went to a local watering hole with DD for her last afternoon. Whoa - I cannot have more than a couple of glasses of wine anymore. SIL had to drive home.

DD took off at 6:45 am this morning (literally) - we left for the airport at 5:15 am. I tried to go back to bed for an hour but just laid there so I'm up again having my second cup of coffee and waiting for laundry load #2 to be dry.

Today we are having lunch with our walking group as most of us leave in the next couple of weeks or so. We fly out in 10 days. It will be sad to leave as we have made such great friends and have had something to do all the time. We kind of have to start over figuring out retirement when we get home.

Have a sun full Sunday!

Supah Sunday to you all!

Liz, I'm sad that you are leaving such a beautiful place and then I remember that your other home is also beautiful. What a nice combination.

I made the pressure cooker pho yesterday....a double pleasure because pho is one of my DD's favorite foods and I like feeding her. The broth is light and it is easy for each of us to personalize our own bowl.

I also made two loaves of banana bread yesterday. One is in the freezer. If I am being sane, a paper thin slice of banana bread packs a lot of flavor so I can justify a few of those through out the day and still have it be just one regular portion. However, at the end of night, when tired, I want to cut it thicker and add a butter spread to it. Honestly, not as enjoyable but I had to complete the experiment just to be sure ;)

Sleep: I was short of sleep yesterday because I woke up super early despite no excess caffeine the day before. Nighttime eating worsened last night. All self care (including house cleaning) worsens when I am sleep deprived. This should be so obvious but in the moment I always think I have ok energy because I forget what it is like to be well rested.

DH gave me a Boeing coffee mug that I have been enjoying. He hates my rag-tag collection of curated coffee mugs. He would greatly prefer our mugs to be part of a set.

So I was touched that he saw a mug so special he thought I should have it. It is a replica of a 787 jet engine (he works for Boeing) In particular, he likes the bottom stripe of the mug that is an "exact representation" for the real engine. LOL I'll post a picture just because why not.

In other DH news, I am thrilled that he is taking steps to address some long standing medical issues that really weigh on him, imo. He is already seeing some benefit. Two changes that benefit our entire house is that he is no longer buying ice cream or diet soda.

Hey! Did you know there is a thought out there, apparently supported by real science, that no-calorie sweeteners bypass our GI human system but fuel some gut microbes which throws gut microbe population out of whack which then causes illness? DH is going to have upper and lower scopes specifically for the purpose of collecting microbe samples to see if that is the source of his medication resistant IBS.

I did a quick lit review and it looks like this is all emerging science stuff. But, there is enough info out there for a reasonable GI doctor to (literally) collect more info.

One last thing, totally jelly about DianeO and Cecily getting together for a HIKE, of all things! What good fun! I hope a road runner joins the group.

Liz, it sounds like you had a good, but exhausting time ! You may want to rethink coming home in ten days ! There's snow on the ground and we haven't made it into the thirties today. Doing massive cleaning and laundry as we pack for SoCal. Things have to look clean for the pet sitters ! Hope to connect with Cecily !

Weight: 164.8

It's fluctuating because I went out Friday night for a friend's birthday and might have had too much to drink (making up for 9 months?) so of course my weight was low yesterday and a little higher today. I expect it to normalize over the next few days.

Must say, not sure "going out" is worth it with a newborn. It was good to know that I can and to test out DSD's babysitting comfort level. But I got to bed way too late, and even though DH got up to feed the baby, her little coos make for a light sleep and then I had a funeral to attend yesterday morning. It wasn't so bad until I needed to do it all over again last night! Oh and go figure this--my two sisters (who also went out) were wayyyy worse for the wear than me!

I was reading over yesterday and someone commented on how others may make thoughtless or insensitive weight comments because they are a lot more weight neutral. I definitely think this is true and I see/understand that more now than before. However, it doesn't help that it is sensitive to us. Peps, I think the most disconcerting part is that it was said by someone close to you who should understand how you would take that comment and want to avoid hurting your feelings.

Greetings My Precious Peeps and Peps

146 so thats over with. Liz, sad your winter in Florida is over but Cape Cod will be fun in spring. Hope the travels go well. Time to find a new walking group.

Shel, the Boeing mug is cool. I cleaned out the cupboard of a bunch of odd mugs and gave them to the Beachcomber cafe along with odd silverware. Interesting that your DH wants to address gut health issues and has stopped diet soda. I always had a theory that only fat people drink diet soda. But which comes first? - the diet soda or the fat?

Well BB, glad you had a night out and some fun. Learning to trust others with the little Nugget is important to your mental health. Cheers.

Hey Peps, still thinking about the snarky comment you endured. My instinct would have been to retaliate as well but probably best to let it slide and thereby wither. I poke fun at my DH and his odd habits here but he never says anything unkind about weight (except early on he was worried I was too thin - not a problem now).

Well today I will do all the stuff I was planning on doing yesterday but failed due to laundry and other stuff. Shrimp for dinner tonight. All is right with the world

Diane O have a great trip. Looking forward to your adventures with Cecily. Time for more coffee. Diane S

I'm here. No weight, no exercise, no tracking. I had an unexpected weekend trip. My Mom had a heart attack early Friday morning and then had a stent put in. I didn't get the messages until I was home from work, but quickly packed a bag as was off to the other side of the state to be with all of them. She went home yesterday afternoon and I left late morning today. Finally home again. She is still having problems with shortness of breath so I think I will encourage her to get a Pulmonology consult. If it isn't one thing it is another for my and those I love! Geeeeesh!

You aren't kidding, there is definitely too much on your plate. I guess it is good that your parents ended up moving back nearer to you. I'm glad your Mom is back home again and hopefully will recuperate quickly.

Oh, wow! I'm so sorry, Paula.

Um, I'm going to be asking/praying that those in charge give you a break. It's time you were getting support, rather than giving it! Not that I am very good at it at all, but please try to take some time for yourself. I can only begin to imagine the emotional toll the past year has had on you. Add to that the recent events you've dealt with....

I am so impressed with your ability to maintain your composure, attend to the needs of others, continue to work, and in addition to everything, lose weight.

When you don't post I worry something might have happened in your world. Prayers for her, you and all you love.
