Weight 117, calories 1035. Good bathroom time needed after traveling. I don't think we will be going back to a theme park in our lifetime. It was a real challenge for DH (and tiring for the rest of us too). I had to hold his hand to walk everywhere not only so we wouldn't lose him again but because he would walk in slow motion and he couldn't navigate through crowds. I was essentially pulling him along. This is a 6'2" guy who used to set the pace for us short folks. He also became very stubborn and argumentative. You may remember that I described him as acting like a 12 year old? On this trip he was about 5. He refused to sleep in the car which would have helped on the way there and home so he was seriously sleep deprived which of course exacerbated everything. I expect him to sleep until late morning today.

Justice stayed with a friend and he was overjoyed when I picked him up! He has had so many changes, he probably thought this was another one. He likes our friend and would cuddle with him, but I think he has really bonded with us. And boy is his energy level back! He is bounding around vs. walking.

I am up to walk with our quickly dwindling group at 8. People started going home early this week, and there will be 1-2 a week leaving until the only 2 year-rounders are left. I can't believe we are going back to Massachusetts in 10 days - they had snow 3 times this week.

Enough for today - Have a surprising Saturday!

Saturday Salutations!

Liz, I almost beat you to the morning post! I am glad you are back in the comfort of home and Justice. It must be such of frustration and worry as DH's condition progresses. I hope he gets lots of sleep.

It's a mystery day here. Besides the 6am gym class, I have no idea what I will do today. Lots and lots of possibilities! I probably won't be outdoors, a windstorm is coming in. I might make Instant Pot Pho. Might sign up for a CE module. Everybody and their dog thinks I owe them a CE....some of them aren't due for 8 years but if you don't keep pecking away it would be a nightmare. (There was a time that I wasn't sure I would make it 8 years so there is that....)

Oh, and taxes. Well, I still got time for that. Right?

I gotta say, more sleep really does make me feel rested. More zenned. Who wudda guessed! And the random pull of visible food is minimized. Amazing!

Have a terrific day, Shel

Greetings Saturday Peeps and Peps

I do like typing "peeps and Peps" so be prepared. 146 today. Yesterday I did a whole lot of business and finance stuff for galleries and self and then took a long tv nap. All that junk really stressed me out - I was doing bank deposits in my car and taking photos of receipts on the console to send out while waiting for a doc apt. So it all wore me out even though I didn't move much. Depending on the weather I will be going around distributing gallery literature to various b and b places. But its super windy and rain may be on the way.

Yep, little Justice is a pretty resilient little guy but he is obviously attached. Friend for life. Sorry DH is having issues. Crowds can be difficult for people with some impairment. Best to avoid. My grandfather didn't do well with crowds and would never go to a graduation or anything and never to a restaurant except this one that had the world's best fried chicken. Sounds like more sleep is indeed a good thing. Lack of sleep = cranky for all of us.

Dog story: my niece the veterinarian just posted on facebook that she removed an entire rack of barbecued ribs from the belly of a labrador! Be careful what you leave around. I imagine him stealing it off a grill! Our dog Tiger once stole a loaf of bread from someone's picnic lunch on the beach that was unattended.

Yep, I knew little Tank was a cairn both from looks and actions. Congrats Peps. I had cairns for years. Miss them.

Well off to do something useful. Like drink coffee and do laundry. Diane S

Ribs and all!?

My Dad has two goldens that were littermates and so naughty when they get together. We imagine the girl, Gracie, eggs the boy, Barkley, on to get him to do the food stealing therefore getting the bulk of being in trouble and then she dives in. We've lost countless sticks of butter, loaves of bread (in the wrappers), an entire flank steak, appetizers left on tables.

My golden is pretty darn good until the opportunity is so good he can't help himself. He stole a giant wedge of cheese off (half a pound?) the coffee table when I had friends overand ran into the dining room where he practically swallowed it whole.

Retrievers and food... makes me think of this video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5iTTNRE-njM

Yep my border terrier Tiger once stole a pound of butter out of a grocery bag on the floor, then ran outside with it. He ate about half of it but did not get sick. He weighed about 20 lbs. They are naughty! ds

Weight 168.6 oops

Hello all! Well, I had a pretty bad eating day yesterday. It seems I can have cookies in the house and moderate myself for a week or so and then I beakdown and eat everything that's left. My willpower is finite apparently.

Today I'm headed to the movies with a friend. I will need to avoid popcorn or I will be over 170 tomorrow!

Liz, the situation with your DH sounds so frustrating. I hope in all the stress of that there were still a few good family memories made.

Shel, I love pho!! I made the broth once where it cooks for like 10 hours with bones and whatnot. I bet the InstantPot is a great way to cut a lot of that time. Good luck with the taxes. I procrastinate like crazy with those, but once I get started the process isn't quite as terrible as I make it out to be in my mind.

Happy weekend everyone

I'm sorry the theme park was such a challenge. Sounds like it was a real workout for you. Must have been stressful.

today has been a better food day for me. I went & did groceries this morning. Was tiring, but I had a salad for lunch, with chicken! OMG, nutrients!

136 this morning. Still 3 inches up in the waist with the swelling. But was able to dig out some old size 8 jeans. They're pretty baggy, but they are lose enough in the waist and they're not leggings. I feel human today.
