Sunday April 1, 2018 Happy Easter
Do you remember the name of the new chemo med? Don't go looking it up if you don't. I am only curious.
If only I had a tree for chemo side effects. On the other hand, why not? Here ya go!

No plane ride for Justice yet - we just went to Boston for a day for the clinical trial checkup. We fly home with him on 4/18.
I'm sorry Ben had a rough night. Hopefully he will feel better soon and the chemo will accomplish what it should without too much reduction in life quality. Enjoy your Easter together.

David, it was a true pleasure to see your face at the top of the page this morning. Like all your friends here, I wish that you and your back pain could bid each other a fond, final farewell. Surely, there's someone out there not very nice who deserves your back pain so much more than you -- 'cause you don't deserve it all.
So this happened -- last night I got drunk. I went out with friends (a married couple) who'd asked me out for drinks and dinner. And I discovered that two glasses of wine and two shots of sipping tequila are more than I can process during three hours. It's NOT that I didn't expect to exceed my daily 5-ounce glass of wine -- had thought I'd have two glasses of wine, since I didn't have any wine last Wednesday night. Ha! Not what happened. The good news is that nobody got hurt, I didn't overeat (in fact, I didn't eat much, which could have been a factor in my inebriation, eh?), and I don't have a noticeable hangover this morning.
Yesterday's V/Fs were a mere 4 servings, and all were consumed at lunch.
Onward. Today brings more yard work (trimming butterfly bushes, picking up more downed timber), lots of laundry, and an Easter feast featuring ham at my sister's house in the afternoon.
Shel, DH and I didn't celebrate Easter in any fashion, so I'm not missing any marital traditions here. I grew up with Easter celebrations, both religious and pagan and STILL cannot figure out how Daddy (who was a Baptist preacher) always caught live Easter bunnies that could lay colored Easter eggs. BTW, I did not know that lemon cake is a traditional Easter dessert, which is what your post about lemon cake sounded like. If so, that sounds like an excellent Easter tradition! :)
Thanks to everyone for your news, information and observations. I always learn something from your posts.
Today's theme (still like this one): Today's a gift. Open it.

Sounds like fun evening!
Easter is a traditional time for me to dessert. Yes, dessert as a verb.
It is spring. I like lemon in spring. :)

Greetings Easter Peeps
145.5 today. I made chicken soup last night with lots of celery in it instead of noodles. We are still nursing colds though mine is pretty well gone. Its looking like DH will skip Easter dinner at friends. But I will go since I already made the pate. There will be ham and chocolate cake all around. Gotta watch it. At Christmas I got the slimies.
Dave good to hear from you. So sorry you are having so much pain. Baby rocking may be the best tonic. I hope the surgery thing works out and gets some relief. It amazes me how much stuff you get done in spite of the pain issues. And I love seeing the little ones on FB. The one looks so much like you!
Paula here's to a peaceful day for you and family. Sorry for Ben's chemo discomfort and hoping that tonight will be more restful.
Hey Shel, thanks for passing around the trees. There are for sure more trees than people in this county. I wonder if thats true for the whole world? I spent a lot of time up in an oak tree as a kid. And lemon cake actually sounds better than chocolate.
Well Ann, you party animal. Sounds like you had a fun evening which is a good thing.
Last night DH had to watch The Ten Commandments for the zillionth time. It amazes me how the director got all those actors to use the same wooden terrible acting style. I couldn't stand it and had to go watch home remodel shows. Yay, Trading Spaces is back!
Its calm and sunny and life is good. Ann indeed the day is a gift. Happy Easter to all. Diane S

Well, I had a crazy dog lady moment yesterday. I bought a used minivan for Fergus. He's like my child and I have so much trouble getting him in and out of my SUV for fun trips, vet trips, trips to my Dad's, etc. At 85 pounds and unable to jump up or down and totally unwilling to be trained to use a ramp or steps, something had to give and it was my checking account. I think maybe we should take a fun trip today in it to celebrate. Maybe the dog beach.
Other than that, I'm still cooking for the freezer.
David, holding babies is good for the soul, but hard on the back even if you're not already in pain! But the good that love and nurturing does for both the grandkids is priceless.
Ann, did you do anything fun while you were drunk? Dancing on tables maybe?
Shel, I love your tree photos! Post as many as you want.
Paula, I'm holding hope the doctors find something that brings your husband relief. It's so unfair.
To all having Easter celebrations, have a bite of ham and cake for me (not at the same time. That would be icky.) and hug your families tight!
Nope, no crazy behavior. But I did laugh a lot, so that alone was worth it.
BTW, today I just feel majorly dehydrated. And have ZERO interest in drinking anything alcoholic.
