VSG Maintenance Group

Weight 116.4, calories 1480. Too many days of seeing my face starting this thread. I bet it won't be as often once I'm back in Cape Cod because I think I'll sleep later. I get up early because of my walking group right now.
Today we will be prepping for tomorrow's dinner with DD and friends. We also need to deep clean the lanai now that the trees have finally stopped dropping pollen. Last year I didn't have to do it as the pollen wasn't bad, but this year it was a huge mess. DD arrives tomorrow afternoon - we haven't seen her since Christmas.
Paula, I am thinking about you and your family and praying for all of you. I'm glad your family is with you for this Easter weekend.
Love to All and have a satisfying Saturday!

I really wanted to be down the full 30lbs. by 3 weeks--but no real complaints here! I essentially have 10lbs. to lose to get back to where I was.
I saw today that Devon lost his beloved Jackson. Hugs to him. It is so hard to lose our furry family members.
So many in our group are going through difficult times. Know that I am praying for your comfort.
I'm definitely trying to count my blessings. It's so easy for me to get caught in my own bubble and lose perspective. It's also so easy to wish away the days. Like right now, I can't wait until Rebecca can sleep through the night...but that means she won't be a cuddly helpless newborn anymore.
We had a big day with her yesterday. We took her to see the Easter bunny, and went to lunch, and then my parents watched her while Rich and i ran errands. I have several friends who won't take their babies out at all until 8-12 weeks. I sure hope I'm not getting her sick, and if we were in the middle of cold and flu season still I might reconsider. But I think it's good for my mental health and not putting it off and getting more anxious. We are going to a friend's Easter party today. Supposed to be beautiful near-80 degrees today...and 35 degrees for the high tomorrow. Typical Oklahoma. Typical Easter.
I have planned my food for this upcoming week and I think as long as I'm prepared for single-handed snacks, I think I can star****ching my intake again. Ugh on MFP. I'm one of those idiots who uses the same passwords for many things. That'll be a job to change it all. Love Ann's idea of using "password" as password for unimportant sites.
So glad that you recognize the value of appreciating the present, rather than looking for the next milestone. (But, I do hope that your sleep improves very soon!)
I took DD to see Santa when she was about a 10-14 days old. I frequently wonder about my common sense but in my defense I think DH was the one looking at this activity as a must-do. DD did not get sick, so...no harm, no foul?

IMHO some parents are over-protective these days. Enough said! Enjoy Rebecca as she grows and matures and savor every moment. It does go by fast!

Liz, I certainly don't mind seeing your shining face up top here every morning. :) BB, I'm glad your post-baby weight is so minimal and that you're so on top of it. I had not seen yet that Devon's Jackson passed away. Poor Devon.
As expected, my weight this morning was up a hair, even though I was low in calories and carbs yesterday. That's the way my body works--two days later the scale bites me the hardest. Yesterday's 8 V/F servings included green beans, zucchini, mushrooms, spring lettuces, cherry tomatoes, and blueberries.
Yesterday was gorgeous! This morning is beautiful, too, although rain is coming in later today. This morning I've already fertilized all of my front side and back yards. It's is the first time I've ever done this job, so goodness only knows how it will turn out. BTW, I wore eye goggles, a facemask, long sleeves, overalls, a hat and gloves, since I'm paranoid about poisoning myself. Oh, well, the good die young.
My spa treatments so far (facial, microderm abrasion, manicure, massage) have been outstanding. This membership was such a great thing for me to take advantage of. Today I have a full pedicure, paraffin treatment for feet, and a (cough!) spray tan (about which I feel a little silly, but what the heck).
Later today I'll drive my husband's pickup into town to get more lawn supplies, birdseed, and gasoline and diesel for the farm equipment. His truck needs to be driven at least once a week to keep the battery working. Also, he made me promise never to transport cans of gasoline in my SUV, so I'm following the boss's directions. BTW, he'd be grinning, probably laughing, if he heard me call him "the boss." ;)
Tonight I'm going out to drinks and dinner with friends.
Today's theme is my mother's favorite Bible verse (I'm very fond of it, too): This is the day which the Lord hath made; we will rejoice and be glad in it.

I bought a trickle charger for Florida (and will probably get one for home). They are supposed to be smart chargers so only charge as needed and extend the life of the battery. I got this one:

Thank you, Liz! I will check out that charger. :)

My sincere condolences to Devon. Losing a beloved pet is so very hard.
I had a successful foraging yesterday at Costco and the grocery store. I'm going to prep a lot of stuff for the freezer for after surgery - soups, chili, tiny casseroles. I was dismayed that there was not a raspberry to be found at either store. This happens a few times a year, but when they're your favorite and you eat them everyday, it's a huge bummer. First world problems for sure.
I'm feeling the Spring cleaning itch. My fridge needs emptying of all those random bottles of whatnot that seem to multiply in there, pantry needs organizing and purging, rugs need shampooing, etc. maybe it's pre-surgery nesting!
With winter on its way out, my Dad is now back in MI for the duration. I'll see him again in late April for my aunt's birthday. Good to see him happy!
Hope you all enjoy your Easter celebrations!
