Weight 116.8, calories 878. I guess my body is forgiving me for Monday and Tuesdays indiscretions. That's a relief, though I want to stay within reason for the next few days prior to DD's arrival. After that will be Easter Sunday and at least a few days of eating out. I'm getting my pre-class reunion highlight and haircut today and sliding screen doors are being installed on the garage. The following couple of days will be getting ready for Easter. Justice was thrilled to have us back last night. It is amazing how quickly he adopted us.
Paula, I'm sorry the news wasn't good, though it didn't sound like a complete surprise to you. One of my new friends here just had her husband diagnosed this week with what sounds like started as gastroesophageal cancer. It is wrapped around his stomach and invaded his liver in addition to other metastasis. They originally thought there would be chemo, then surgery based on what the oncologist said, but the surgeon feels there is no point in surgery. So apparently they will be discussing palliative measures from the outset. Such an awful disease.
Have a thoughtful Thursday.

Good morning ! Weight stayed the same after my foray into the land of buckwheat and pure maple syrup. The Vets had a great time ! This is the only all you can eat place I've been since VSG.. that option no longer makes sense for us... not that it ever really did. I watched those around me inhale stack after stack, smothered in syrup and butter and I know that that food coma used to be me. Grateful for my sleeve and my new habits !
Liz, I'll bet justice was thrilled to see you ! Did you bring home something that smelled like him to introduce him to your other dog ? Paula, I hope that a change in chemo drug will enable Ben to meet the goals he's set for himself. Shel... how is your return to work ? With such recent and vivid memories, can you escape to your happy place at a moment's notice ? Ann, I smile when I think of all of those sweet animals sharing news of the beautiful fairy Godmother with feed in one hand and wine in the other ! Diane and Cecily... the 405. Oh my !! Hadn't been thinking about the two hour drive from LAX to Santa Monica, in the past. I'm thinking San Diego north to Solana Beach will be an improvement. Dave and BB, we continue to get our baby fixes through your photos, videos, and posts.

It never occurred to me to send something home with Justice' scent (or vice versa). I guess I could send something though. Great suggestion!

Weight: 166
I'm thinking this is my "starting point" and I've lost all the easy weight I have to lose. Good news is that this was about my starting point just over a year ago when I started working out and watching calories. Bad news is it may be harder to do with a baby in tow when I feed her in the middle of the night and Girl Scout cookies sing to me their siren song.
I always told myself that March would be my grace period. So maybe I'll try to start MFP'ing what I eat and eating healthier Monday (omg how many times have I said that?!). Also ideally begin taking Nugget for walks and/or using our treadmill even if just for 20 min every other day. I do think that eating better may make me feel better/more energetic. But I'm also not super stressed about it. I would loooove to go to my postpartum checkup in 5 weeks and be back to my prepregnancy weight. It's not unheard of. But I doubt I'll make that.
I found some of you on facebook and some of you found me! So hopefully now anyone who hasn't can search friends for Bonnie :) It's much easier to upload photos there!
I absolutely agree about photos being easier on Facebook ! Good for you on your weight !! I agree, those Thin Mints used to call to me too.... frozen or room temperature ! I'd eat three sleeves and drink a glass of milk without coming up for air ! Milk chocolate really doesn't agree with me post VSG. As long as Girl Scouts stay away from dark chocolate Thin Mints, I'm safe !!

166? That is fantastic! I hear you on the potential issues while being around the house with a child though. That is when I always gained weight unfortunately. But I think you have built skills over the years which will serve you well ****rtainly didn't have any).

Hello!
I'm still off work til next Monday. I have been doing family stuff, including helping with DD's car repair which will cost 110.00. (Insert multi-week long story about DH wanting to "total" the car without having mechanic look at why it intermittently refused to start. He still can't talk about it. Just stares at me, unblinking, when I give a rare update.)
I do feel bad for DH, he is now deep into taking care of MIL's financial affairs. He/we thought we were prepared but have encountered some unexpected barriers.
I also have to get several hours of mandatory education done in the next few days to meet my self imposed deadline of April 2nd.
Neighbor girl (our nanny for years) is mourning the heroin death of long term boyfriend. Classic nice boy -- lots of friends, large, close family. Now an opioid statistic.
In happier planning, I have a conference in Vegas at the end of the month. I'm going 4-5 days early so that I can swing thru Zion and/or Bryce Canyon National Parks. One of the hikes in Zion (which I won't do) is walking thru cold water, frequently knee high and sometimes chest high. I am willing to buy much gear for hiking, but draw the line at neoprene hiking socks. I also scoff at renting a dry suit, for heaven's sakes. I'll stay high and dry, thank you very much.
Stopped by Trader Joes and now have a boat load of vegetables to consume. Love TJ's.
DianeS, I am preparing to send back your much appreciated hiking book. It sounds like your trip was awesome. I really REALLY wanted to go back to the Arcata galleries on the way back but ended up speeding up I5 to get North ASAP, like a horse to barn. It was nice to see the land thru that corridor, too. It is most spectacular close to the Oregon boarder but the Iowa girl in me appreciated the farms/orchards, too.
Paula, I hope insurance pays for all without comment. It all sounds like uncharted waters, even for the oncologist. I suppose there is no easy path; no road signs to tell you what is coming next. Very scary, that. Big virtual hugs to you all. May you find many sweet moments to savor, too.
Shel

138.2, same. Calories were around 1300 yesterday but unfortunately too many were from the "junk" category on MFP. Jelly beans!
My parents are visiting through Easter. Nice to see them again. My brother and his wife will join us for Easter Sunday dinner. Ham, grandma's Mac n cheese and roasted Brussel sprouts!
I'm inspired by your post to make Aunt Yvonne's Mac and cheese! Ham and Brussel sprouts will round it out nicely. Enjoy the parents!

Oh I also meant to comment to Paula-
Dear Paula, I am so sorry for Ben's bad news. Even though you were expecting it, that cannot be easy to hear. How you are dealing with everything is quite the inspiration, though. That's probably not the kind of compliment you ever want to receive, but it is the truth. We cannot escape illness or death--but how you are continuing to live and cherish the time you have is the kind of thing that is within our control and something I aspire to do like you. Much love.
