138.2, not bad, not bad at all.

The CT results were not good, which is what we expected. Tumors that were already there are growing (but still fairly small) and new internal ones popping up along with all of the skin ones we see and feel. The oncologist is just dumbfounded by how Ben's cancer is presenting. Very odd to have so much skin metastisis for this kind of cancer. Except for being in the lungs it still hasn't spread to a vital organ. The onc. said it usually goes to the liver. Immunotherapy will be stopped and they will try a new chemotherapy with the hopes of just slowing things down a bit. He might also have his tumors analyzed to see which therapy might work best. All pending insurance approval of course. We will meet with palliative care probably on Friday to discuss goals.

No, 138.2 is not bad at all. :)

I think a lot about Ben -- about what I'd do if I were in his situation, how I'd spend my time, what I'd be trying to eat and drink, which movies I'd want to see again and the music I'd want to listen to.

In the last months before my husband died he spent a lot of time listening to music from the Fifties. I found out so much more than I'd ever known about which artists he favored from his teenage years and what his favorite songs were. I was really surprised at some of his preferences. Naturally, we had much conversation about the events in his life that coincided with the music he was listening to. Those were sweet times together.

Yesterday I got back to my normal 8 V/F servings. I won't recite them here, because you know them all by heart. But they were good.

Today it's dripping more than raining. I've finished paying all the bills and went through a week's worth of junk mail. Jeez! I also called my husband's Medicare supplemental health insurance company and canceled that policy; I also applied for a refund for the majority of his insurance premium from Q1 of this year. I still have more tasks like that to complete. I know all those things will be finished one day, but not yet.

This afternoon I have a microderm abrasion treatment (face). Then a few errands and my new book club's dinner-hour meeting (we all bring something to eat, so there's no big danger of someone feeding me fettucine Alfredo. I'm looking forward to seeing my new friends and discussing the good book we read this month.

Today's theme: Somewhere the sun is shining.
