Quick Post (we are in Boston, leaving soon for DH's appointment). No weight, but lots of calories. DS took us to dinner at a fancy place on the harbor last night and I tasted everything!
Today is my 2 year surgiversary. More later (or tomorrow).
Have a well Wednesday!

Sometimes I wonder how I thrived in a high pressure career, multi-tasking among the best and never missing a beat, but I can forget to go to an echocardiogram ? I can't reschedule until after California, so I am reassured that the need isn't urgent.
Shel, thanks for sharing Devon's message. I responded to him via his blog, which was also about Jackson. BB, looking at Becca's picture just melted me ! I would so much love some cuddle time with her. Thanks to everyone for their thoughts about how our comments may impact others. Many of us have built up and enhanced upon intricate defense systems over the years. Feeling the feels is often new and scary. I love that we all speak our own truths because it expands my perspective and frequently reinforces new experiences.
Off to drive the Vets to a maple syrup farm for buckwheat pancakes. A protein bar first, and gratitude for the fact that too much fresh maple syrup would make me too sick to drive them back... a new meaning for this designated driver !

Greetings Good Friends
Well I am baaaaaaaaaaak and survived the travels. But barely. Boy were we tired! I don't know how human beings can live in Los Angeles. Every thing takes an hour on the 405 and its just a nightmare. Guess I am truly getting old. DH did most of the driving and mostly cursing at Siri. But we had fun and are home safe. I gained no weight and DH lost a half pound. We did eat wedding cake and I had some crackers but mostly tried to stick to sane food. Not easy when traveling plus SIL's constant cook-a-thon. She is sort of a high powered Paula Dean!!
DH's family is indeed fun. And the bride's family is very nice as well though I think they were a bit overwhelmed by DH family as they are always talking and singing and laughing and a rather noisy disorganized bunch.
So at one dinner the two little nieces (ages 9 and 7) became interested in my fitbit. I showed them how it worked. So they wanted to make the numbers move so they wore it and ran up and down flights of stairs and up and down the hall to make the little flower grow taller. They competed to see who could make it move the most. I had to laugh as it was as though I had hired someone to exercise for me! About 10 flights of stairs and several thousand steps! Everyone though it was hilarious that I got "exercise" while sitting on the couch drinking wine. Story of my life.
I did get a lot of steps doing the Queen Mary. We took the haunted tour which was not as stupid as I thought it would be. An interesting attraction. Not much other stuff as it was mostly family. One niece is at Oxy University and we went to see the campus and nephew had a music thing at the Roxy and we went by there and another nephew had a house recently remodeled not far from there so we went there too. Lots of driving.
So I am ready to get back into our routine. We have sun for some days. Our dogs are safe and sound. We have a dear older lady who house sits. She lives with her son and enjoys staying elsewhere so she stays at our house pretty much the whole time. Safer for the house and she enjoys having her own space and spoils the dogs.
I am thinking about Devon. I don't want to bother him but I have some thoughts to convey including some about Jackson and I will do so. I may have mentioned that years ago we had a 9 year old dog diagnosed with cancer that was untreatable. So we spent the next 6 weeks spoiling him. I would take him to Petco to look at the hamsters and to the easy beach until he could no longer walk. We now have 11 year old Chip so I should do that for him while he is still in good health.
Well be safe Liz. Stay warm Diane O and enjoy the onset of spring. Paula hope things go well and so proud of you for keeping weight off during rough times. Such an inspiration. And BB hug our Becca. Ann, keep stuffing those birds. A weight loss strategy is to find someone or something else to feed. Diane S
I lived in L.A. for 20 years -- 1977 - 1997. And I got really great at navigating how to travel different routes, depending on the time of day, day of the week, even the season.
But these days it's worse than ever. I've been back numerous times for clients, including one gig last year, and it really has changed. I've never taken public transportation there (the metrorails, subways and buses), so I can't speak to what those modes of transport are like. But some of my friends there swear that the "subway" (yeah, it's mostly above ground) is da bomb.
Finally, Diane, I never thought of making others fat was a weight loss strategy for me. But you may be right -- since I'm doing my best to fatten up all the critters around here. Must think about that. ;)
