Weight 117.6, calories 1482. V/F good, but a couple of chocolate chip cookies were in the mix and my first stand ice cream since surgery. We went to the beach with friends yesterday and stopped at the quaint ice cream place...

Today we are going to a friends for coffee to see her new place. Another friend who is a professional decorator did the decorating for her. I love seeing other homes, so am really looking forward to it. Other than that we have to pack for our two day trip to Boston. Tomorrow morning will be tough for DH as we have to up at 5:45 am to leave for the airport by 6:30 am. But it will be greal to see DS tomorrow night and celebrate our birthdays from the last couple of weeks.

Have a multi-faceted Monday!

Somehow yesterday I got in only 6 V/F servings, which were spring lettuces (lunch and dinner), mushrooms, riced cauliflower (I nuked a Bird's Eye dish that was a true disappointment when paired with some grilled salmon), and lots of blueberries, which never disappoint.

Yesterday was quiet -- I didn't leave home. The weather was gray, so I did lots of laundry and snuggled up. In the late afternoon, I did get out for a short walk, which was lovely, but coolish.

This coming week will be mostly cloudy and wet. We need the rain here. This week will also be one in which I try to jam all my monthly (March) day spa services into a single week, so I'll be getting facialed, mani-pedi'ed, spray tanned, massaged and more almost every day this week. Oh, the pressure! ;)

I liked yesterday's theme so well I'm carrying it over: Today is a gift. Open it!

Good morning ! It is supposed to hit 50 degrees today, for the first time in what seems like forever. A nice long walk in the sun will feel great ! Timely reminder about overriding all of those years of stuffing feelings and ignoring needs because it is perceived to be easier on others. DH is really struggling with the depression aspect of his PTSD. I recognized some unhealthy co-dependent behaviors on my part.. attempting to assume responsibility for his happiness to the detriment of my own. He was on a "dark TV show" jag yesterday and didn't want to go for a walk. I took Sadie for a short one, then skipped the long one for me, to try to refocus him. All I really accomplished was dampening my positive outlook and desire to get some activity outside. I identified it, now I'll address it and come up with a better plan for next time.

Off to regroup ! I so appreciate all of you !

When my DH was going thru major depression just after DD was born, a marriage counselor told me that "taking his temperature" thru out the day was counterproductive and re-enforced victim behavior and validated his negative ruminations. I thought I was showing I cared.

Me here in Long Beach. Sunny but not hot. Family visits and lots of driving yesterday.i have picked up a cold. Probably do the queen Mary today and just goof off. Home tomorrow.

my eating has been less than ideal but vastly superior to my former self. Dinner last night homemade chicken soup.

many thoughts but will post when I get home. Best to all.

I thought I posted, but it's not here. Clearly user error! I finally got all my tax stuff together and sent it to the tax people. I don't like this company because they've made small mistakes every year that just seem to bleed over into the next year, but given my procrastination, I don't have time to engage with a new person. Next year I'll get my rear in gear early and get a new tax preparer.

Aside from that which took all morning, I have therapy this afternoon. Nothing to talk about, so I'll bore myself silly again!

Hope you all are having a non-post deleting, non-tax preparing, non-boring day!

Luckily my financial guy has been great. I could do it but I don't want the angst. I scanned everything, uploaded, our taxes were filed a couple of weeks ago, and our return already came in. The $ I pay him to do it is worth every penny!

I pay these folks a ton and they mess it up every time! I don't get money back either so the whole thing is unpleasant end to end.
