All celebrations should commence with a tree!

Weight - 131
Macronutrients - Cals 1,835, Carbs 205, Fats 57, Protein 118, Fiber 36
Sleep (goal 8 hrs.) - almost 7
Vegetables/Fruits (goal 8/day) - 10
Exercise - Aquarobics

I was home last night, but awake until 10:30 - hey, it was Friday night, even if my big thrill was playing spider soltaire! And things got a little snacky. I did my usual least-harm snack - a cheese/turkey sandwich (light on the cheese, light on the turkey, no condiments).

But look at those 10 V/Fs! Black bean veggie burger patty, cherry tomatoes, carrots, spring lettuces, bamboo shoots, mushrooms, kale/spinach, green and yellow peppers, and beaucoup blueberries and strawberries.

This morning I spent two hours on the phone with a nephew who's planning a trip to Machu Picchu and wanted to hear about my experiences in Peru and my trekking friends' reports about MP (it's still on my bucket list). It was a great call - young people are so excited about life, God bless 'em. I also got almost 7,000 steps while talking to him - walking inside and outside all around the property picking up sticks.

This morning I've also cleaned out the porch planters - getting them ready for the annual Spring Snake Sex Orgy, i.e., black snakes have group sex in the planters every year. They don't birth their babies there, but the snake sex is a sight to behold! FTR, black snakes are also great for keeping rodents down around the house, so I'm fond of them. The only downside is that I can't plant petunias in there until after the snakes are through fooling around.

I also spread the last of the deer corn and cleaned out my car in preparation for a big NOLA road trip in a few weeks.

I hope everyone's having a great time, whether you're face-deep in snow, redwoods, deep dish pizza, sushi, puppy training, wrangling loved ones, or rocking babies.

Today's theme: Come on, Spring!

Snake sex? I can't even imagine!

Btw, I am treating non-starchy vegetables as "free foods", so I'm not tracking them. So my calories are higher than they look. It just doesn't seem worth the bother for broccoli, cabbage, peppers, etc. But because of your great experience with them I have added quite a few in as I mentioned previously. It's like not dieting!

Liz, what you're doing is 100% consistent with:

1) The current Weigh****chers program and

2) The research findings touted in the The NYTimes article Shel posted a few weeks ago.

For me, eating unprocessed, high-fiber foods is a real deal! :) I look forward to learning what your experience with them is.

Greetings all

just got back from the 10 am wedding. It was great fun. Not one single poopy person! Nephew/groom entered to the theme song from Game of Thrones! So funny as he is such a tv nerd as is wife. Lovely bride but the adorable grand nieces stole the show as flower girls and reception dancers.

so we get nap time before the evening feeding. Yes I ate wedding cake. The reception lun*****luded pancakes! Weird and I skipped them for chicken.

cecily glad blood is ok. Can't type much. Best to all.

Liz, overall it sounds like a lovely day!

We are in NC, which is unseasonable cold for us. Not feeling like Easter is a week away. Our dogs (Reilly Coyote, a bichon & Sean Michael, a mini-dachshund) are not fans of wet and cold.

Weight today was 131, but my height is the same, lol. I had a low (50) blood sugar during church and had to go home as the small hard candy didn't have enough oomph. So had 1 oz of straight up OJ. I'm reading up on low blood sugar post VGS.

I had diabetes, controlled with Byetta, Metformin & eating. I no longer need the meds, and my A1C has normalized since surgery. But I do keep having the plunges. A bit on the scary side.

We've no particular plans beyond our Holy Week activities; I'm grateful for the respite as even in retirement we are over-booked most of the time. Oh, I do have bariatric lab draw on the 28th. Looking forward to awesome numbers again!

I truly enjoy all the support & shares here.
