Weight 118.2, calories 1650. Not enough to drop the weight much (-.6). We did one last dinner out with DH to celebrate my birthday. We ate at a great restaurant on the water and then stopped at the local bar, Gatorz, to check out the atmosphere. It was actually pretty cool. Some couple looked like they were in wedding garb there and a friend of theirs sang one of the karaoke songs and had an incredible voice! You never know...
This week, I'm going to put the adoption deposit on Justice. He has gained 1.6 pounds since being here and I think he is at his desirable weight now. He has been super hungry possibly because he is on prednisone?
This morning is quite foggy and warm. If it clears we may go to the same beautiful beach as Friday because it is supposed to be the warmest day all week. Other than that NOW I'm going to stay on my eating plan.
Have a mostly good Monday!

OK, here's the deal. On this March Monday morning, I want everybody to have a great day today. For those of us who've been struggling -- poof, today will be better! And for those of us hiking in the redwoods near big fudge -- poof, you'll have an even better day today!
Last night I slept almost 8.5 hours! Monday morning can't get much better than that.
My 9 V/F servings yesterday were cherry tomatoes, spring lettuces, raw carrots, a whole avocado, plantains, kale/spinach, celery, blueberries, and strawberries. I'm telling you, veggies, fruits, and whole grains are magical. That recent NYTimes article about the satisfying nature of unprocessed foods was on the money.
Yesterday, sloth reigned, and I never did get my walk in. But it was a good day nonetheless. I finished my book, and the sun finally came out.
This morning I head to The Big City for my monthly therapist visit. Looking back at this past month since I last saw him, what I see has changed in a good direction is that, as I said yesterday, I feel less in shock. I also feel like my body isn't wound as tight as steel springs -- although I certainly wouldn't say I feel relaxed, just less tight. Guarding myself against the pain of my sweetheart's death has been exhausting.
BTW, I meant what I said at the beginning of this post. It is time for the universe, God, leftover leprechauns, and all our fairy godmothers and guardian angels to give us a ******g break! We are ready for some breaks. And if one of us wins the Powerball, that's OK, too. Amen.
Today's theme: Today will be better!

Reworking Ann's theme for me today, be open to having a great day ! In my experience, it's all about intention and the law of attraction.
Yesterday, we checked out the kennel that looked the best to us and is closest to our home. There is NO WAY I can kennel Atlas and Sadie. They are family members who live in their home with their family. I don't care if the kennel is air conditioned and heated. It has cement floors, chain link walls and it's just not going to happen. Back to redouble my efforts to find in home care.
Finished the corned beef in hash last night and my weight is up two more pounds. I didn't pound water yesterday, so I'll incorporate that plan into today and take a nice long walk before my massage. Shel, your cioppino looked fabulous ! Going to look for a recipe for later in the week, but cod for tonight !

Good morning from one of the best places, ever!
Ann doesn't live in Trinidad but she lives close and one of her art galleries is down the block across the street. This place is beautiful: natural physical beauty plus the fruits of strong neighborhood covenants and city planning.
And, perhaps the best thing is the full length mirror in my room of the impossibly cute Airbnb. It makes you look thinner. But just a little bit thinner. It is still you, not a disproportional you. But you are unquestionably better.
I find myself hanging by the mirror, sipping coffee, brushing my hair, checking the weather. I am lithe. I am a ninja. I am powerful. Lordy, are those abs?
All of it is silly but there is something fascinating about perception. See it, and it is real. And whose to say it can't be what I want it to be? There is a lot I don't control, but I can change my perception.
So yes, I am going to have a F$*#ing Good Day! Cuz I have a magic mirror.
And honestly, we all need to move to this micro-village.....at least part time. So very special. Pics below don't do it justice.
Peace, joy and hope plus a good cup of coffee to you all,
Shel

David, I love, love, love how you summarized all of that. And I love the addition of Don Williams to welcome our intention to attract good vibes (thank you, DianeO for that addition, too). And everyone else's additions and intentions!
Tomorrow is spring -- at 11:15 central time, apparently. It's about damn time! ;)

I ate so much yesterday. Today I reign it in. The 7 mile beach walk yesterday was actually a rough march. It was a really high tide, so lots of walking in the soft, dry sand, jumping up and down shelves of sand and running from waves to keep the shoes dry. But we did get to see another whale spouting and the sun glistening on its back. I feel so lucky to live near such a beautiful place. After all that and the early start, I crashed for a three hour nap. Yikes.
Hoping to hear from the closet guy this morning. I need him!
And Fergus is getting a seriously overdue bath. Pwew.
