Weight 118.8 (!#$@&), calories about 2100. Time to get back on the wagon. ****tails by the pool, Irish bread, salty corned beef and homemade Key lime pie on top of the previous days indiscretions sent the weight up over my comfort range. Lots of water and my usual protein filled meals are ordered for the next few days.
This week is relatively quiet, with a show on Thursday but that's it. The following week gets crazy with a 2 day trip to Boston for DH's clinical trial visit and some other appointments leading up to Easter when DD arrives for a week. We have one more month here and I think it is going to go fast.
Which reminds me that I want to go to the animal shelter this week to check in and put an adoption deposit on Justice to make sure he is ours after his treatment is done.
Have a supportive Sunday!

Hello from the Curly Redwood Lodge!
Wish you were all here.....I am so excited the DianeS is just down the road.
Trip down was smooth. Girls were good sports with the 9.5 hr drive. I finally fished out a torn contact from my eye that was inserted 2 days ago. So relieved about that!
First Redwood pics below
Liz, isn't it nice to know when you get back into usual food routine you can trust your weight to respond?
Hug your skinny,
Shel

Beautiful pictures! It's good that the girls are doing well on the trip so far. Sometimes a reset to a different environment is good for teens!
Yes, I sure do appreciate my "tool" and the rules around eating properly that I've developed over the last couple of years. In the past I wouldn't even have gotten on the scale, but I knew that was a slippery slope so I climbed on and got the number. Now I go into containment mode!

Happy day after corned beef and SALT ! Up 1.8 here ! Drink, drink, drink !! Haven't had any emergency calls from the cardio office, so must be nothing terribly funky. We're heading out in a bit to check out a kennel for the dogs for next month's adventure. It is SO HARD to think about being away from them, let alone them in a place that's not home. This is one of those "do what you've got to do" moments.
Shel... keep up those posts ! The redwoods are so magnificent !!
Diane
P.S. No snow on the horizon for the next week !

Zzzz ... woke up too early this morning (3:30 am).
Shel, I'm glad you guys made it on the road. I was already looking forward to pix of you and your adventures, and there they are! I so love big redwoods. Very best wishes re continued good weather and road conditions. You're a wonderful person for many reasons, but one is that you travel to meet your OHM mates. Thanks so much for coming to Vancouver last summer to see hubby and me.
Yesterday's impressive 10 V/F servings were most of the usuals and gratis of a veggie-loaded black-bean burger for lunch and a huge bowl of berries after dinner.
Yesterday's walk in town was good. I'm going back for another one later this morning. I need to keep moving because I skipped the pool on Friday and will miss going to the pool again tomorrow because that's my monthly trip to The Big City to see my therapist.
This morning I was making a mental list to share with my therapist about what I'm accomplishing these days. My list includes brushing my teeth, putting on makeup, taking off makeup, going to exercise class, doing stretching exercises, making my bed, fixing lunch, eating dinner, counting my calories, dusting the furniture, feeding birds who are arriving daily by the scores (the deer are now on their own), and trying to part my hair the new way my hairdresser did last week. It's where I am now. It's better than where I was two months ago. I'm not in shock anymore. Or at least not the kind of shock I was in two months ago.
I'm also enjoying tremendously my new book club's selection for this month: "The Storied Life of A.J. Fikry." I recommend it to those looking for an intimate but "show, don't tell, and for God's sake please don't drone on and on about backstories I could not care less about as a substitute for suspense" kind of book.
Today's theme: Routine isn't a bad thing, unless it goes on for too long.
