I'm within 1 lb of goal, so will be "lurking" here for good tips. I heard about this group from Ann, who is my hero!
I am fortunate to be "retired", although also busy. But it does make things work a little easier with the healthy eating.
Y'all have some amazing information out here!
Yesterday food -
Premier protein shake
Mac & cheese (gruyere & asiago)
Roasted vegatables
Jolly time 100 healthy pop 1/2
Zucchini
Parmesan omelette
Tuna salad
I will be glad when Lent is over!

Annie, you made it over here! Hello. :)
Glad to see you. Please feel free not ust to lurk, but to participate. This is a truly great group of grown-up, smart, kind, interesting people.
As you'll notice pretty soon, this group is more than just about maintenance. It's a very tight support group. You'll also notice that I get VERY personal over here, unlike over at gastricsleeve dot com, where I don't share much personal information about myself that's not related to WLS.
However you find this group helpful to your WLS journey, it's good to see you here.

Ann,Thank you! If you think its a safe place to be very candid, I will take that to the bank! I tend to live by the "Las Vegas" rule -- I don't share things that aren't mine.
What I've read here is much more like my FORCE (Facing Our Risk of Cancer Empowered) group; I've been in that group about 13 years, through 4 kinds of cancer, and never had a soul inappropriately share. It's wonderful.
I'm a pound from goal. Still eating too fast, but trying to slow it down. I am so looking forward to figuring out exercise and maintenance. I have rather enjoyed The World According to Eggface blog. I love balance in life, and so using this new tool correctly and finding mind/body/spirit balance seems like a grand journey.
Thank you again for the lovely welcome!

Annie, regarding what's "safe" and "not safe" -- in terms of what sounds like is important to you, which is "private" and "not private" -- remember that we are playing on the internet when we're posting in this group. As far as I can tell, anyone on the internet can read what we're writing here, although I don't think this group is a particularly highly trafficked area of the internet.
The way in which this group is definitely SAFE for me is that I've never, ever seen anyone post something here that wasn't essentially supportive of other members. And there's no insistence here by anyone that what works for them has such broad efficacy that they think everyone else in the group has to incorporate that/those practices into their maintenance program. There are no "my way or the highway" kinds of people here. At all.
So back to the privacy issue, the ways in which I keep this group / internet cul desac "private enough" for me is that I don't ever mention my last name, any family members' names, the names of the town I live in or towns that are nearby, and I don't ever post any photographs of myself or any photos that I've posted anywhere else on the internet under my own name.
The reason for my privacy practices is that I've always been on the "down low" about my WLS, and I want to keep it that way. Most people here don't have that need, so it's not a problem for them to "be themselves" here. I'm also myself here -- but probably more so than I otherwise would be because I'm here under Marilyn's avatar and not using my full name.
If I had my druthers, this group would be like Facebook groups that are both closed and secret. But that won't happen here at Obesity Help, which wants to make its groups available to all OH members.
This is probably Too Much Information or stuff you already knew. But just wanted to be clear that this group is neither private nor secret, but visible on the internet.
And if anyone in the group thinks I've mis-described how this group is viewed, please pipe up and correct me! Thanks in advance. :)

Ann, thanks! I totally get that and its what I envisioned regarding privacy.
I am NOT down low about anything much lol.
I do have closed & secret on FB, and very tight parameters. But my cancer support groups are very open, so I'm okay. At 66, I don't think my life is really fascinating to anyone except me, and I don't share things I would mind being made public.
You are such a gift in my life, lady!
