Working on a very short night sleep today (3 1/2 hours). Had Ben into the ER until 12:30 am for a bleeding abdominal tumor - soaked through a few bandages, his shirt and a pillow he uses to protect his belly from dogs when he is sleeping. They had to cauterize an open and exposed vein to stop the bleeding. He was pretty upset about the whole thing. Poor guy! So glad I work in health care and can handle these situations!
Off to work today. Hope I can function at least reasonably well!
Have a manic (in a good way) Monday!
Hugs Paula ! The road ahead of you is something I can only begin to imagine. My Dad had palliative care for less than two weeks before he lost his battle with cancer. Please feel our support ! I admire the honesty this close family is demonstrating as we put our own reality out there. Life can challenge us beyond our perceived limits, allowing us to extend those limits beyond our wildest imagining. We're here to do this together !

Oh Paula, I'm so sorry you are all going through this. I assume that Ben isn't able to work anymore? It must be hard for you to leave.

Weight 116.2, calories 1166. Not so good at the de-carb yesterday as I had a glass of wine and 2 cookies. Arghh...
Today we have a tubular skylight being installed. I realized that it might create dust and mess when at the end of dusting and mopping yesterday afternoon. At least the place is clean for a while (hopefully the mess is contained so I can clean it up again quickly).
Justice continues to do well and get more comfortable. He DOES have a voice! He barked at someone riding a bike and another one running yesterday. Apparently he was too timid to use it earlier. Interestingly, he already recognizes the car and the sounds associated with the car going in and out. Apparently he cries when I go out and he gets very expectant when he sees/hears someone coming in. We were on the lanai when SIL returned from the store and he definitely seemed to know it was our car, even though our neighbors use the same driveway.
Have a monstrous Monday!

Paula, I'm sorry for all. Just a little bit of blood can be scary and to have that happen sounds terrifying. Did he think he was about to die? A rather reasonable fear if that was the case.
"So glad I work in the health care and can handle these situations." I work in health care and just reading your post scares me. (But continue to post!) You are absolutely amazing in the care you provide to each of your family.
I am glad you are finding the time to invest in self care.
Cymbalta increase could definitely increase fatigue/need for sleep. It is temporary, but might last another week or so. Usually, that side effect tapers itself away rather than abruptly disappears. Fatigue from the beta blockers usually continues onward so hopefully it is mostly the Cymbalta. I would think that your home situation makes you more vulnerable to fatigue, but observation is out of my scope :)

Good morning,
I didn't do most of what I wanted to do yesterday. Today is another day. FYI, I have gotten super sloppy with MFP, trying to enter in most of the stuff at end of day. I am sure there are errors and omissions. Will turn that around today. (It isn't hard....it isn't hard....it isn't hard....)
I made banana bread. It is a bit of a problem, but I had it yesterday, so that is over with. I'll freeze most of the remainder before I go to work this morning. While it is true I don't need home baked foods in the house, I also like my daughter to have exposure to home baked goods. No need to buy expensive (and usually chemical laden) versions at the grocery store. Plus, it makes the house smell good :)
I bought a funeral dress about 1.5 years ago. Tried it on. It fits. It would be a good work dress, too, but I named it the funeral dress so it has just been hanging there, waiting. The grim reaper dress.
There are no losers on this forum. To a person, I sit here an marvel at each and every one of you. And your pets.
Love yourself!
Shel

Paula-I am so sorry for everything. Hugs to you
39w3d today. Just waiting for baby, though I think it'll be at least another week...though who knows. I still have a little congestion, but I forget if I told y'all that I feel like I bruised a rib from coughing. Yeah, that's not fun.
But not much to do about it so I'm trying to keep doing what I'm doing.

I'm sorry that happened, Paula. That must have been really frightening for both of you. Poor Ben.

Why dd I eat so much at the Oscar party?? My return to basics week starts today. It's not CAMAW, but hopefully reminds me that eating well feels better than eating candy.
Happy Monday everyone!
