Weight 116.4, calories 947. I'm doing a "de-carb" for 5 days so hopefully that will drop into the 115's at some point.
Justice is doing well so far. He is getting quite comfortable, perhaps thinking he has gone to heaven. SIL thinks he must have been well taken care of prior to being found as a stray as he is settling in so quickly. I dread the end of this week as that is when he will likely feel the effects of his Heartworm treatment. I hope it isn't too severe. Right now he just doesn't understand why we can't go for a longer walk and he can't go say hi to the other dogs. He gave a couple of his super soft woofs at one this morning when we were standing just outside SIL's bedroom window. I wasn't worried that she'd hear as they are barely audible.
Today is house cleaning and laundry day (after church and much coffee). Maybe it will be fun for Justice to see us doing all that stuff. The lanai will be one of the toughest to clean. The pollen is ferocious right now.
Have a sonorous Sunday!

Supah Sonorous Sunday to you all, me-mates!
One more thing to love about this group: new vocabulary words, such as sonorous.
Liz, I feel so much better after letting go of carbs for a few days. I know we all have various methods of doing that, and maybe different reasons for doing it. But, there is something in my brain that changes --- less jonesing at the grocery store for one, that is so helpful.
And, about Justice. I am already attached. I suppose that if you get into something like fostering you get attached to the idea of turning a wonderful dog around and launching him back into a forever home. Still. Do you find yourself plotting how you might eventually be able to keep him? Because I sure do!
Another 23andme tidbit: I am more likely to use more caffeine than others. (Right now, there are two coffee mugs full of coffee next to me because I refilling the same mug slows down my consumption.)
Ok, off to the gym (I'm thrilled that I am not sore from snowshoeing.) Today is going to be a major NoCA trip planning day complete with scrapbook style daily hike possibilities, etc etc etc.
Love yourself,
Shel

Yes, we are already in love with Justice. Unless something changes drastically he will be staying with us. We just need to get him through his treatment successfully. I type this with him curled up on my side, his head partially in my lap...

Off to hike in an area called Peter's Canyon later this morning with a friend. It's 6 miles of rollercoaster-like hills. The down is great, but the ups are tough. I feel like I need tough after a lazy couple of days!
I'm not doing CAMAW with Liz, but I am going to try to clean up my eating next week along with them. I know I can do a lot better than I have been doing.
Tonight I'm going to an Oscar party at a newer friend's house. I was asked to bring an appetizer for 12 that starts with "C". Digging through Pinterest, I found a Cheesy Chili dip. It looks good. Hope it tastes good... My other idea was crab cakes, but that seemed like a lot of work.
Happy Sunday to all!
Because I am me, I looked up Peter's Canyon hike. Looks like fun! Tho, I can't help but notice the sky is right on top of the hiker! Sun touching skin!
In contrast, when we come to a clearing with sun breaking thru, we stop and soak it in, with water and snacks. Yesterday there were probably 2 or 3 of those for the whole hike. Enjoy!

You have to work hard to find shade and trees on the hikes around here! Every once in a while a trail will dip into a gully with oak or sycamore trees. Peter's Canyon isn't one of them. I'm sunscreened up!
I look at the trees and moisture in your hike pictures and am so envious...
What about bugs, is your area buggy? Generally, we have few to no bugs so when they show up we are major whiners. Hey, DianeS, what about the Redwoods -- are they known to be particularly buggy?

Shel there are not too many bugs around here in the coastal zone. Inland could be different. There are a few mosquitos but not many since its generally too cool for them. There are lots of little spiders but they don't fly and bite. Tiny ants (don't leave food around) and garden bugs are about it. DS
