Weight 116.6, calories 1075.

Interesting talk of dog breeding and human independence yesterday. You know I always felt like asking friends with "oodles" if they weren't just mutts, but didn't want to hurt their feelings. BUT I never thought about the fact that those "breeders" are starting with less than healthy dogs in the first place. Getting a rescue that is a year plus old is looking better and better. I want a healthy, friendly, small dog that doesn't bark like a fiend and likes to take long walks.

Speaking of which, I think we are going to finish our training today as it is supposed to get to the 90's after today and I have to check on Pebbles and Devaunt.

Independence is something that I enjoy very much. I was always happy traveling alone on business. Funny, but I've never been fully independent, since I became a mother at 17. So I always had at least a child, and mostly a husband/partner too (except for about 3 years). Maybe that's why I like alone time so much.

Have a particular Presidents Day!

I think I've attached a photo of me and the gang, knobby knees and bony chest. I'm still 134-139, but comments about being too thin are increasing. I don't know if it is continued firming from all of the activity or what. What makes people think they can just express their opinions freely? I need to be more snarky !

I knew Devon could shed light on the whole irresponsible breeding issue !

Off to investigate another State park !

DianeO, are you using the "add photo" button that is part of the fonts/formatting bar in the message? (To successfully use that, you would need to upload the photo to OH initially. IMO this has gotten easier so let me know if you need a pointer or two.).

Have fun at the State Park. I have come to truly appreciate government's role in the parks!

I don't know why people think they can so freely comment on our bodies. I do think it is ok to push back with some version of "back off." (Hmmmm, what would the dog version be....a low warning growl? Try that!)

I also think it is ok for you to take a look at your weight/body/level of energy and perhaps (perhaps!) try a few pounds up, if YOU want. You can always go back down. I am totally fine with a few extra pounds if it is providing strength.

If you click on my username, the photo ended up there. Yes... I'd love photo pointers, Shel. It's just boggling my mind.

Ok, I see it in your OH profile. I really think you are almost there unless there is some sort of technology glitch with your device. As I type this message, the very first button in the formatting bar is "add photo". That button is before the B for bold. Do you see the add photo button?

I think you like look great - healthy! I wouldn't worry about others perception - it is likely colored by other associations they have with thin/obese people.

In the past few months I've had someone ask if I gained some weight because I looked better than a year ago (in his opinion) and someone else said I was too thin. No weight change during the past year.

So, here's how I look at it: to me you look just fine. I would not even put you in the too thin category. When you were in the 120s that looked too thin to me, but it is personal taste. I personally tend to like a post menopausal woman with a fuller face. I think that makes the woman look younger. Sometimes that means a little extra weight on the body. To me it's all about what makes YOU happy - as long as you are healthy physically and emotionally!

As for the comments, it is interesting. I find that people feel so free to comment when they believe the formerly fat person has gotten too thin. Yet, the same people would sooner die than confront you with their opinion that you have gained weight or are too heavy. A very interesting social issue, if you think about it.

BTW, your PUPPY looks like a full grown boy in the pics on your profile! Boy, oh boy, has he grown!

I have said to people, "I don't get to choose where it comes off." Sometimes to get rid of those stubborn last deposits, you end up losing more than you'd like from other areas that don't need to lose anymore. There's a crass saying, "Your ass or your face." You get a choice of which looks best, but the other usually pays the price. It's proved true for me!

Good morning maintainers! I scanned yesterday but I've been slacking the past few days.

I think I updated you about appointment on Friday? I'll stick with 155 as my home scale weight and weigh-in this morning was 192.4. I figure I'm splitting hairs, but I really liked 155 as compared to 167 which I'd gotten up to. And whether the doctor weighed me in at 160 or not, I'm aiming to go back to 155 on home scale. Eventually.

I'm feeling a little more nervous that baby could come early just because of that u/s on Wednesday. I'm thinking everything will be fine, but because there's zero advantage to continuing pregnancy at that many weeks, if they think she's too smooshed, they'll induce! I'm not ready. I'm not even ready for my due date in 18 days!! 18!

Still have a bit of a cough and feeling under the weather. And unfortunately sleep is hard to come by between itty bitty bladder, coughing, tossing and turning, and anxiety/excitement for baby.

Friday night DH and I celebrated Valentine's day. I'm so glad we did not go on the prifixe night because even just a few bites of steak and sides was difficult for me. It always is, but add pregnancy and congestion and wowza.

Saturday was my other shower. It was beautiful. Both showers were so wonderful and unique and individual. This second shower was hosted by one of my mom's friends (well my friend too!!) and she got out her crystal and all her lovely serving dishes!! I love doing this myself, so I know she had so much fun :) I felt so loved seeing many friends and family members and of course we scored some great gifts too!

Then DH and I pulled the trigger on a rocker/recliner/glider. Went with the recommendations and got the comfort over look. But because look still does matter, ordered one in a better-matching fabric. It probably won't get here before baby, but I'd rather get it right. That night DH and I went to dinner with an old friend and her husband and then to a Valentine's cabaret show. It was one of the most enjoyable nights I've had in awhile! The restaurant was Peruvian and so cool and like going on vacation. The cabaret was a bit more rique than I'd planned, but still very fun and different.

Yesterday was about knocking off to-dos. I grocery shopped for my massive freezer cooking haul. And So far I've already made a huge batch of chili, chicken soup, 3 rounds of taco casserole in the freezer (plus one we ate last night), and several chicken and wild rice bakes. More to come but I tuckered out. It's not the ideal VSG foods, but I'm giving myself a grace period of a month-6 weeks. We also started taking some of the stuff up to the nursery and ordered a few things off Amazon that we're missing. It's getting so close!!

I missed the news about u/s on Wed. And even if not induced, due date is almost here! Well THIS IS EXCITING! AOk that the rocker may arrive after babe. All is good, even if Little Nugget makes an early entrance.
