Weight 117.8, calories 765.

DH is still perseverating about the fudge and annoying the heck out of me. But when I offer to get more he says he doesn't want it. The 12 year old child again...

Anyway we are going to see our friends in Venice today - the wife who is a hoot arrived last week for a month and she is going to teach a water aerobics class. Should be interesting... Tonight we are going to a Valentines dance at the clubhouse here (5:30-9:30, LOL).

I was notified yesterday that my recovered cushions which were due early this week won't be done until next week. I'm disappointed.

Have a tasty Tuesday!

Good morning ! I'm a bit behind on posts for the last few days. I channeled Harper and the strength in all of you and I'll write my check to the IRS, and finalize my plans for San Diego in mid-April. One good cry later, being upset isn't going to change anything. I'm not cutting corners...I can't take it with me. It is interesting considering Chuck's traveling needs and his PTSD adds a dimension. I'm narrowing down VRBO and Airbnb options north of San Diego that my DD can get to reasonably from LA. I'd prefer right on the walking path/ocean and being to sit on our patio in the center of it all, a walk away from everything. The movement and constant foot traffic would make DH very stressed and unable to relax, which makes him cranky and argumentative. I think we are better off in a condo, on the outskirts of activity. I love a twoish hour layover in a favorite hub, with time to shop, forage for healthy food, and as a delay buffer. He needs meds to fly and wants to get there and be done. I'm trying to anticipate, discuss and front load for as many potential obstacles as possible, then mitigate them. Gratitude for the goodness in him that makes compromise an adventure in an of itself, and more importantly worth it.

Weight in the low end of my range. Shoveling, skiing, and snowshoeing have increased my activity level.

Good morning!

If I ever have memory loss, I am sure perseverating about fudge will be top of my repetition repertoire. Liz, are you going to do the water aerobics class?

Today is day 2 of deliberate physical rest days after a pretty active weekend. I'm hoping that I'll be stronger for it. For now, I just feel guilty. Both Mon and Tue of this week will lack much time/stillness. Today, I will leave house at 5:30 for work and return home about 9:30 after a school thing.

DianeO commented about her work schedule when she became SMO. That got me thinking about my own weight history. While I was an overweight child with fluctuating weights into adulthood. It wasn't until I started working overtime at my regular job and eventually piled on a weekend gig that I became obese and then MO and then SMO. I was always chasing a down payment or some sort of financial ease. Association isn't correlation, but geez, looking back I just smh.

DianeS, I don't know what actress I would want to play me in a movie. However, once, when I was practically upside down in a dental chair, the dentist said that in that position I looked a lot like Renee Zellweger. My mouth was full of dental equipment so I commented with my eyes and eyebrows and then she said my personality was similar, too. This still makes me giggle. Dentists and their imaginary conversations.....

Hug that skinny!

Shel

Weight 168. Oops.

Nothing exciting in my corner... getting my hair colored today, then a third visit from the cable company for my phone (I hate them!), and a movie with friends this afternoon. No hike today with the bum foot, but I did walk the dog 2 miles round trip to the vet yesterday with just minor "ouch", so it's improving.

I really need to reign in the eating. I seem to be testing my limits and finding no boundaries and that isn't a good thing.

Happy Tuesday all!

146.8. Calories: 962, 102 C, 42 F, 85 P and 52 Fiber (again, the protein bars).

Counseling appt. okay yesterday, not as much to talk about. Goal for the next 2 weeks is self care!

Liz, I too got a chuckle out of the Valentine's dance hours, but it will be good for Paul so he can get his rest and not fuss about fudge!

Diane O, a trip to San Diego sounds like a lot of fun. If you like zoos, check the SD Zoo out, well worth it!

Shel, rest days are good. Especially if you are burning the candle at both ends. Perhaps you and Devon need to take a relaxation course together!

Cecily, hope the foot heals up fast so you can get back to your beautiful hiking trail. Enjoy the movie - seems to be a favorite past time for you!

I'm baking today. I saw these sinful chocolate, chocolate chips cookies from a New York City bakery on a food TV program over the weekend and found a copy cat recipe on-line. This will be DH's Valentine's gift (he loves baked goods and chocolate!). I know I will sample as well - the batter alone was to die for! Hey, the chocolate needed to get off my fingers somehow, right? I bought the boys cheap boxed chocolates - they won't tempt me at all!

The biopsy from my ear nodule that was next to where my basal cell carcinoma was removed last year is negative! Finally, some good news for once!

I think my plans for day will include some scrapbooking! Self care in the form of doing something I enjoy.

My friends and I all got MoviePass so you pay less than $8 a month and can see a movie every 24 hours. It's crazy! I have no idea how they plan to make money, but it's super popular here (everyone in the ticket line seems to have one these days). So we go see all sorts of stuff we normally wouldn't just because we can. You stop caring if a movie might be a stinker because it's free after the first movie every month!

Greetings Tutu Tuesday people

If ya have a tutu, wear it today. At two p.m. Dem's da rules.

146.5 today. Better than a couple of days ago. And I start the delightful colonoscopy prep this afternoon. The big event is not until noon tomorrow so I do half tonight and half tomorrow morning. Oh joy.

Hmm fudge Liz. Sorry your DH is obsessing about it and even sorrier that you have to deal with it. But the dance sounds fun as do your other activities. When is your first "solo" dog walk?

Diane O, good luck with the travel plans We just scheduled our trip to a wedding in Long Beach in late march. What a snarly mess to get there and use airline points. I just learned that one nephew and his wife had their house redone by one of those fixer upper tv shows. I saw the "before" and can't wait to see it now. No clue when the broadcast will be but I will advise when I know. Looking forward to the event but not the LA driving which is really stressing me out lately. Now we have to go buy some clothes to wear as around here, formal attire means you have pants on.

Last night's dinner was a poached chicken tender chopped up in some tomato soup. Pretty good. No dinner tonight. See above.

Shel, I love the sound of those sound bowls. They had them at a tai chi class I went to once. But yoga on mattresses? Seriously? Mattresses are for sleeping and eating and tv watching.

Trip to the hand therapist today to get night splints made. She is my friend too and always has all sorts of fun local gossip.

Cecily, sorry your painting got messed up. But just do more!

Good point Devon. What would happen if I don't eat that? A big NOTHING thats what. Good thing to remember.

Well time to go tank up on coffee since I won't have any for 48 hours. Seize the caffeine! Diane S

Best of luck on the colonoscopy! The prep is always the pits.

We will probably be able to solo walk the doggies in a couple of weeks, since we have only done 1 of 5 hours so far. I want to try to go earlier next time and get in 1.5-2 hours. It is HOT in the afternoon here now. I was able to walk a couple of the dogs myself even the first day, but had to be with someone.

We bought more fudge for DH today, plus a separate box for SIL (who will let me have a little - I didn't want my own).

Exercise: Aquarobics class

Got 7 hours of sleep last night. Although it wasn't 8 hours, I feel pretty good today.

Yesterday's freakin' 11 servings of V/Fs came from carrots, spring lettuces, black beans, cherry tomatoes, yellow onions (caramelized -- yum!), plantains, an avocado, and lots of blueberries. BTW, my kale chips from day before yesterday really sort of sucked. I don't know why people seem to love those so much. But I won't be making them again. I'd rather have my kale raw in a salad or steamed in a power bowl.

This morning's yoga class was just wonderful! The teacher did one of her famous workshop classes. You wouldn't believe how much I learned about that most plain vanilla of yoga asanas, Downward Dog.

I'm steadily getting my week's to-dos checked off in preparation for driving on Friday to Kansas City to hold my husband's memorial service on Saturday. The event is designed for his family members and old friends from childhood and work.

BTW, enough time has elapsed since my husband's death (33 days ago) for me to observe that I now seem to have alternating "good" and "bad" days. As you might imagine I'm constantly redefining those terms, i.e, "good" means I didn't sob today. But however they're defined, that's the current pattern. I'm mentioning that to elicit any information and/or crowd wisdom you may have to share about grieving/mourning.

Today's theme: Be here now.

Well ya know Ann, sobbing is not a bad thing. It releases hurt and is just one of many steps. I am glad you are having memorial in another city so you don't have to have a herd of people come to your house immediately thereafter. Hope you have someone to drive you or drive with you. Wishing you the best. I know you have some good people around you. Diane S
