Greetings Thursday Hooters!

145 today. Considering how much salt I ate yesterday I am amazed its not more. We had some ham and I sautéed some spinach and over-salted it. Plus a cheese box from Starbucks earlier. If you are what you eat, then I am surely a brick of cheese. My Swiss ancestry I guess.

Well Shel, be proud you took the killer trail but be careful. Around here the coast guard periodically has to rescue people who have climbed on dangerous cliffs. One guy hung his coat on a sign that said "Don't Climb on these Cliffs" and had to get rescued.

I wish you could sleep Ann. But its one thing that the harder you try the more elusive it gets. I agree with Liz. Naps are good.

Liz you are so industrious with all the decorating. How fun. Hope the new cushions work out.

Cecily I know nothing about how long to wait for plastics but if the time seems right, go for it.

Sorry for everyone's weather woes. Ice storms are the worst. When I lived in the midwest I didn't mind the winters so much as the hot sticky summers. I do miss the fall color. We are having a warm sunny spell now but rain will be back. One of my rhododendrons is confused and is blooming.

Hey Dave, enjoy the memory foam. We got that a couple of years ago and so love it.

BB have a good photo session. Its so great that our society has learned to celebrate pregnancy rather than treating it as "confinement". We have been watching the PBS series "Victoria" which depicts the old customs surrounding childbirth as well as historical events surrounding the reign of Queen Victoria. A good show. No exploding aliens.

Well thats about it here. Time to face my own mountain of papers. Diane S

On this trail, my biggest worry was leaning forward so far that my face would hit the mud. No cliffs around. Just mud, pine needles and trees.

Do you Starbucks have the Mercato line of food? They have a fair number of healthy-enough offerings. Also, glad to hear there ARE Starbucks around you. I hadn't gotten that far in my googling. Also, if you haven't tried Blonde expresso americano with cream, you should. I prefer the blonds, no matter what, and was skeptical about an expresso version. It IS smooth and I think about stopping in just for that. But, I don't. Cuz I am cheap.

Yep, our dinky town has Starbucks and the main fast foods. And some good restaurants that are non-chains. Also some local coffee places that are quite good and also fun. There is also a place called "Old Town Coffee and Chocolate". Match made i heaven. We can do a coffee tour of the north coast. The best is at a place called Cafe Brio. But its also a pastry mecca.

Thanks for the tip on the Blonde expresso. DS

Weight 133.4

that is about a 2lb bounce back from my all time low...but I was expecting that and it is still in my maintenance range. Given my birthday weekend with two dinners out. Today will be a challenge since i forgot my food at home today so am going to have to wing it. I'm mostly concerned about missing my chia/miralax to be honest. the food I can fudge.

3 more sleeps till vacation. my vacation goal will be to try and keep my weight under 136. will be a challenge given my friends already booked a fondue experience for our first night in whistler....doh! Cheese and bread...my two favorite things on the planet....gonna have to plan snowshoeing or something for Sunday.

getting a little nervous about the fact that I have not heard back from the condo owner on check in instructions.

Someday I'll get to Whistler. Are you a downhill skier, too?

Enjoy the experience, including fondue. Consider it practice flipping from especially fun food back to your usual maintenance food.

Miralax is available in travel pouches....but maybe not quite enough privacy to whip it out? And, I suppose it depends on your friend group.
