I ran across an online seller that makes them in Sikeston, MO. We bought one for my FIL years ago. Looking on eBay I noticed that he had the same mattress pictures, add and from same city so we bought these from eBay here:
We had an 8 in tempurpedic but we wanted the 10 inch. Also our other one was about 15 yrs old. I was hesitant because they have different firmness. No way to tell that online. For the price difference I could give it away if I did not like it. I got on it today for a bit to stretch out. I can not tell the difference in quality. True test will be DW. FIL has liked his too.

Weight 163.2. Amazing what sensible food choices and an 8 mile hike can do.
Yesterday I read that the plastic surgeon I want to use is having a special this month on body lifts. It would be at the least $3500 less than what I would pay otherwise. You have to book by the end of March and have surgery by the end of May. I had it in my mind that I'd like to take care of the plastics or at least start to this year, but I hadn't considered doing it this early in the year. But now I'm thinking of what I can do with the $3500, namely pay for after surgery care as there's no one to help me full time that first week. I think I'm going to call them this morning for a consultation appt. I had one with him 4 years ago and never followed through on the surgery, but my body is different this time around and prices change. He wants you to be at your goal weight for 3 months. For me, 3 months is Friday. My bariatric surgeon suggests people wait until 1.5 years post VSG because things settle and fat redistributes. That would be August. What do you think? Too soon?
Today is Pilates and painting class. Hope you all have a great day!
I had my LBL about 7 months after reaching goal weight, earlier than what I had planned. Seeing a PS for "just a consult" is a lot like "just looking at puppies."
My bariatric surgeon didn't think it too early and neither did the 2 plastic surgeons I consulted. One of the PS's said his issue with "too early" is that most people are doing it with higher BMI's and then are disappointed in results. So the "too early" has more to do with unrealistic expectations that PS can make them look like they are at a BMI

Hey, OH cut off the last of my comments. In short, I don't regret having PS when I did at all. However, I do think the landscape under skin changes. For sure, my muscles changed as I became more fit. It wouldn't surprise me if fat re-distributes, too. I think MANY internal things have to catch up after massive weight loss and it takes time.

my surgery is coming up in less than 2 months. mine just wanted to make sure i still wasn't losing, and even though I had lost a bit since the initial consult, he wasn't concerned because it wasn't uncontrolled. ie if I want to lose I buckle down and lose, if I want to gain, no problems there either. ie i'm truly in maintenance. i pretty much assured him id be sticking to a 5ish lb range.
yes, fat redistributes, but not to the point of total body composition changes. eg i lose from my top first, look skeletal in the face and shoulders for month or so and then it softens.

Sure,
I'm a band to bypass revision. Had the usual nightmare experience with the lap band. after 11 years of torture I finally dropped the denial and looked into revision. Revised in October of 2016 and achieved results that way exceeded my expectations.
I have decades of experience with weight loss and regain, and very little experience with maintenance. If i'd gotten paid by the diet, i'd be a billionaire. I know from experience that maintenance is the real hard part. What I've learned about myself from past mistakes is to never stop weighing. I know when I shirk the scale it is because I'm avoiding accountability and wanting to bury my head in the sand, so I have committed myself to weighing at least once a week. I have also given myself a comfortable weight range, I'm 6 months into maintenance and it is working for me so far. It may help that I've bought a whole new wardrobe I'm in love with, so I'm motivated to stay where I am.
I have a hernia repair, lower body lift and breast lift scheduled for the end of March so have that to look forward to (and dread).

I had my TT 10 months after VSG, 4 months after I hit goal, and one month after I got into my current range. It helped me to have incentive to stay in this range.
