VSG Maintenance Group
Tuesday February 6, 2018
I've always multitask-tasked my whole life (needed it and need that now), but the STRESS that sometimes accompanied it especially when I was spread thin became much harder to handle as I got older. So that means that the pressure of feeling that something needs to get done is more difficult to handle now. Maybe that is the case for you (though I am definitely older)?

I don't know how you keep up with all that you do. Prioritizing yourself is hard work. I'm glad you are continuing to try to make some space to breathe.

Macros: Cals - 1,778, carbs - 173, fats - 67, protein - 111, fiber - 32
Veggies/Fruits (goal 8): 7.5

You can take it to the bank that 5.5 hours of sleep is less restorative than 6.5 hours, which is less restorative than 7.5 hours. Note to self -- go to bed earlier tonight.
Yesterday's V/Fs came from cherry tomatoes, spring lettuces, oven-grilled sweet peppers, salsa, plantains, black beans, and one big whole wonderful avocado! For now, my weight is sticking at 130, and I'm back to 1600-1700 cals/day.
After deliberating for some time about several big decisions, I pulled the trigger and marked off a lot of to-dos on my list.
Today has been about yoga, errands, memorial service venue contracts, insurance payments, and marking off more to-dos.
This afternoon I made a solo-fika and enjoyed some Thin Addictives (cranberry and almond biscotti), thanks to Paula who also sent me a home-spa care package and a Jumbo Crosswords book (xoxoxo!).
Today's theme: "Sleep is the foundation of civilization." (Socrates didn't say that. I did.)

I'm unusually chilled after today's hike. It isn't that cold or rainy. I did wear inappropriate pants--see what happens when you don't wear REI endorsed hiking clothing? I'm under a heated throw, wool blanket and Buster now.
Being home this time of day is so strange. Both DD and DH point fingers at each other saying YOU NAP A LOT and NO! YOU!!! NAP A LOT! I can say that they both nap a lot. DH has terrible night time sleep issues --- it would be easy to pick apart his sleep hygiene but lets leave it alone. DD is simply a teen.
Pics from a overcast, moist hike. Rain held off til I was done. Much to be grateful for.
In pic below, I liked the twirly trees
The scene below makes me wonder if there are Vikings hiding in there, ready to cut my head off.

Your lizard time sounds kind of nice, too :) Would be nice to have a mix of both.

Greetings Tuesday Creatures
Well I didn't weight and am late posting as I had to be at the eye doctor early and 30 min away. Then the chiropractor who thinks I am doing well. Getting old is dreary. Then lots of calls on my cell phone. I usually get very few. Met up with my friend who moved to Mexico who is back for a couple of weeks. She brought me some cool gifts and we will do dinner out.
Ann, glad you are getting some decisions made and I am sure they will be good ones. You are right about sleep. I can remember staying up half the night as a college student. Now its unthinkable. Ditto missing a meal.
Dave, love the idea of the gliders. Bet they are beautiful.
Hey, the local crab shack is finally open! Friday night dinner!
Enjoy the beaches, hikes and trees all. Diane S
