Weight 117.2, calories 754. I planned to sleep late this morning (no walk on Sundays), but DH flipped all the lights on at 6 looking for the bathroom so that was it for sleep. That must have been why he was wandering the other night. He keeps closing the bathroom door at night and then he can't find it later (gets up every 2-3 hours to use the bathroom). BTW, he leaves ALL exterior, cabinet and closet doors OPEN all the time. I'm going to try and put a brighter constant light in there (like a beacon). Unfortunately there are no plugs in the room with the toilet so I need to find a constant-on battery light. So far all the ones I have tried turn off automatically after a while. I could have had the electricians put a plug in there when the fans were installed but of course I never thought of that at the time. Sigh...

Today is laundry, pool, making chili, and watching the game day. Hopefully DH will be oriented today (foggy days can be frustrating).

On the FB question, Diane some people post way too much, some too little and some just stalk. I used to be primarily a stalker, but I do Post now and then in spurts. Most of the people in our group seem mostly like that where we are posting mainly the good stuff, so we get to see Devon's puppies/dogs, Paula's wonderful boys for proms, Dave's granddaughters, etc. Those are the best posts. I have reconnected with tons of high school friends via FB. It started around my last reunion 5 years ago and now there is another spurt because I have one coming up in April. I've gotten together with some of them after reconnecting. But there are some people (none here) who post every sneeze and itch so you get so you have to end up suppressing their posts from your Newsfeed. Like most things there are pros and cons to it!

Have a sun worthy Sunday! Go Patriots (though my mother will probably be rooting for the Eagles too up in heaven)!

Wt up 2 but I have been eating salt, no salt lick but nearly. As for fasting, the Bible speaks of prayer and fasting quite a bit. Unfortunately when I have tried it in the past my prayers have sounded something like this. Dear God, Thank you for this food....

We are all home in the woods. I am resting up the weekend and will go back to work on the house during the week. That is the plan.

DD#1 is growing leaps and bounds as a Mom. I am so proud of her.

DD#2 is struggling with motherhood as she should be. We have offered for her to come up a intense training session but I think she is thinking her husband will disagree. Or In laws will disagree. We were just wanting her to get some skills to take care of this baby she willingly brought into the world. The week that DW and DD#1 spent with her was not near long enough and did not quite sink in. And a majority of their efforts where in the housekeeping area. DD#2 was pretty much a slob when she was home. Not much has changed except she married a guy that does not pitch in with anything house work related.

As for falling, I have fallen all during my work careers. Once I fell with $3K worth of Pella windows while a scaffold collasped. I fell off an 8 ft ladder and stumble and fall every year or 2. I do not know where my feet are. I will be zipping around and the next thing I know I am tripped up in something. Amazingly I have never had injury from falling and the windows did not even break. I know that bones change as we age so I do try to be more careful.

Ann, Your DH obituary was really good. Handsome barely does justice. So sorry your world is under armed guards in a time of mourning and life celebration. Sometimes the drug user with mental health problem get much worse while using. With the right mix of drugs it can get really weird really fast. Does not excuse the behavior. Hoping peace finds your world soon.

Liz, The gradual loss you must feel. I can not really imagine. I have worked with Alzheimer patients in the past but only for brief periods of time. The dancing looks like a good time had by all.

FaceBook is a good way to connect. Some of our foster kids have friended us. Mostly to apologize for their behavior while they were in our home. We tell them the truth. It was not their fault and we would have acted worse than they did if life had dealt us the same hand. I have recently had friends from 5-8 grade friending me. I remember most of the names but can not remember being friends with them in school. We moved often. It would also help to have a 7th grade picture.

Paula, I react to medications differently. Cimbalta just put me to sleep. Sleep 23.5 hrs a day. The dr at the time thought the dose was too low. Increased and I slept 24 hrs a day. Probably should have tried a tenth of one. I am on a good mix now but there was a lot of trial and error. It is about the only way to find out if it will do any good. Did you find someone to talk too? It helps a lot of people.

More later, David

Good morning ! Our trainer explained that dogs are highly sensitive to full moons and especially blue moons, some moreso than others. Getting up more at night and needing to pee more often begins days before the full moons and can last up to two weeks after.

I post most of my pictures on FB because this site is just too erratic and complicated to post pictures to, depending upon the device I am exporting the photos from. That's my story and I'm sticking to it.

Weight stable.. weather way too cold to do much outdoors !

One of my former school psychologists has a ten year old daughter with cystic fibrosis. Harper is going through some really tough stuff, spending more time hospitalized in Boston than home in upstate NY. Yesterday, her parents learned that Harper's pancreas has shut down, making her insulin dependant for the remainder of her life. Harper has the most glorious outlook and sense of humor, making it an absolute honor to know her. She lives life to it's fullest and is indeed larger than life herself. Harper is supporting her doctors and parents through this serious transition. I'm making SIULH (Suck it up like Harper) my motto for letting the little things go.

SIULH when you encounter those little bumps, family !

That explains the extra trips, during the night, to go out over the past week for Sammy.

Love that motto Liz!

A blue moon should not have any stronger effect than any other full moon. Blue moon is a man made phenomenon. It's simply when a month falls in such a way that there is a second full moon cycle within the same month. The second full moon is called the Blue Moon.

Did she maybe mean a Super Moon has the stronger effect? I can see that the moon being closer or much brigher might have some type of more intense effect on our doggie buddies.

If she was serious about the Blue Moon, you better warn her about the dangers of using microwaved water. You know putting water in the micro wave to heat it, causes the molecules to move freakishly fast and break apart. LOL!

Supah Sunday to Ya!

Superbowl: Nope it had nothing to do with the REI snowshoe cancelation, that was just a scheduling mishap that started with a typo. There a zillion different REI things going on today, all of them full with wait lists.

IF: I do best with VSG if I wait at least 4 hours between meals. I struggle with that :) A nutritionist I like at the local naturopath school makes sure herself she fasts 12 hours overnight for general health. I would like to get thru evening hours without grazing. In short: I fail IF.

Hot Topic: When in Omaha, DD and I were shopping with my mom. Mom was desperate to find things to buy for DD and I heard after the fact they went into Hot Topic. I was horrified. I wondered if my mom was traumatized by the experience. My fears were misplaced. DD described a sales person coming up from behind my mom to ask if she could help. Mom turned around and saw a rather large silver nose ring. Mom launched into a story about how she grew up on a farm and that ring is EXACTLY what they put in large boar's noses. She helpfully explained a boar is a very large male pig used for breeding. AND, the large ring could be used to lead the boar around. And THAT is what nose rings are for. I will add that my mom can't tell a story like that in just a few seconds, it would have gone on for minutes. My mom has no sense of boundaries.

Working out this morning. Rain should let up a little later, I might hike close in or at least get Buster out for a long walk.

Peace and Hope,

Shel

LOL on the nose ring! Your Mom sounds like a hot ticket (as opposed to a Hot Topic)!

Of course she did! Kids don't care what us "elders" think! DS#1 has a "bull" nose ring. I hate it even if I do have a very petite little side nose ring myself! Edited to add: This was supposed to go under Momsy's question)
