I'm so sorry Paula. Yes, please find a counselor ASAP. You might have free assistance through the hospital at which you work. It's worth checking into.
My psychologist is not covered by my medical insurance, but it worth every penny I fork out for it. You can start a HSA to put money away tax free to cover the costs, too.
At least you know it's not your fault. Keep that in the forefront of your thinking!
Love!
As someone that find stress easily...Call as soon as possible. My bio son#2 did some things like that in high school. DW had given cc for gas to drive to school. My DW didn't understand why I was upset until I explained that he would need to drive 5000 miles a month to used that much gas. I cut the card. I cut all the cards. I carried that around a long time. maybe still some. I did talk therapy AFTER kids acting out and Meds lined out.

Tough love is much tougher on the dispenser. You need a sounding board to navigate you through all of this. I'm glad you've got an appointment ! It is not you. We're here for you !

Oh Paula, I'm so sorry. DS#1 has some immaturity together with the other issues, so perhaps he will have some improvement as he gets a bit older. It is SO hard when you know they need help and you can't do anything about it because now they are an "adult".
I went to counseling and support groups after DD died. I found the support groups worked best for me, especially when people had similar feelings, but probably both were helpful. Just taking the step to start getting some mental health support for yourself may lower your stress level. And it may be easier to cope with making those arrangements and starting it sooner rather than later.

Paula, sadly I have no advice about your son. But I surely wish for you that this wasn't on your more-than-full plate right now.
I so want you to pay attention to your heart issues -- please don't delay any diagnosis or treatments you need, whether surgical, psychological, or however.
I also wish for you to feel empowered to control your own finances and not to remain the emotional hostage of your son's behavior.
Thinking of you a lot these days, my friend.

Gosh Paula, this is rough and you don't need it. Glad you made an appointment. It seems like a lot of kids go through these hard times but eventually shape up. You really can't control him so you might as well do self care. Easy for me to say. Again, glad you are seeking help. There seems to be a lot of these issues going around. Diane S
