149.4! Yay, back in the 140's. 6 more to go and I'm back to a normal BMI. Calories were 1308 with 189 Carbs (which I think is an over-estimation, MFP listed my Thai shrimp with rice - 1 C of shrimp and veggies and 1/2 C brown rice as having 77 C!)41 Fat, and 88 Protein. I did get 30 minutes of an exercise DVD in yesterday as well.
No time to post much as I have to get to work bright and early. Will check back in with you all later!
Weight: 130.4
Macros: Cals - 1,361 carbs - 157, fats - 40, protein - 88, fiber - 21
Veggies/Fruits (goal 8): 7
Sleep (goal 8 hours): 7 ¾
Exercise: Yoga class
Last night at sunset I sat on the front porch with a glass of wine and watched the deer eat their corn. Then I came inside and again played the piano.
Everything is different these days, even sleep. I would like to sleep 8-9 hours for a while. I still feel so tired sometimes.
My weight has stabilized, although I'm eating less than I used to. But I'm also not moving as much as when I was taking care of my husband. I suppose all this will even out, especially after spring arrives and I become more active outside.
Aquarobics class this morning, then errands, but fewer than yesterday.
Yesterday's 7 servings of V/Fs came from carrots, lettuce, tomatoes, water chestnuts, more carrots, and blueberries.
Today's Theme: Get up, dress up, show up.

Good morning!
I think we might be on new grand-baby watch (Dave's) Maybe.
Paula, so glad to see that "4" in your weight. Great job! Nice dinner and exercise. The whole package! I continue to track as well. I personally haven't been buying stuff that I shouldn't have in the house. It was the return of an old mindset that was really worrying me, rather than the return of any one particular food.
I worked out at the gym at 6pm. I am feeling better each day but still not ready to restart 5am exercise.
Supposedly, the latest issue of JAMA is obesity focused and has lots of fun stuff in it. I haven't looked at it yet.
Ann, I wish you could get at least a good rest, too. My adult self vicariously enjoys you feeding the deers corn. My farmer upbringing thinks WTF?
I'm going to a conference in late April in Vegas. It is a conference I should go to but not thrilled about the location. I just don't like gambling and don't enjoy the strip beyond 30 minutes walking around.
But, then I realized this is the first time I will be there as an in shape person who likes to hike. So, now I am going to stay in the area a few extra days to enjoy warm, dry hiking trails.
May your day be filled with happy trails (and maybe a new baby, too)

You can get to the Grand Canyon pretty easily from there (so I've been told). I'd be with you on Vegas. We don't gamble and too much glitz for me.

Shel, thanks for the JAMA tip. I'll check it out.
Maybe it'll make you feel better to know that 50 pounds of deer corn costs less than six bucks.
Nonetheless, I'm going to talk to the USDA agent when he comes out about where/if/should I plant a "deer plot" for them to munch on all summer and fall. Not sure if I want to put that much sweat equity into it. Maybe I'll just let them fend for themselves in the good seasons and buy them corn next winter if we have another drought this year. Seriously, the deer are suffering terribly around here from a lack of acorns, which are their main winter sustenance.
Maybe I do need a cat.

50 lbs for 6 bucks --- that is amazing!
The farmers I grew up around just didn't a lot of concern for wild animals. My dad didn't even like horses because they didn't pay for themselves. We still had horses, tho, because the owner of the farm was my doctor uncle and HE liked horses. I loved Uncle Max. He also would drive to Missouri to buy a giant trunk full of fireworks every year. Great memories.....all brought up by you feeding deer :)
A cat.....hmmmm. That sounds warm, cozy and distracting. And more independent than a dog.

Congratulations on being in the 140's again! Nice job.
Ann, I hope you do get some good sleep, but I think grief makes you feel tired as well, so sleep may not completely help that feeling for a bit.
So...I'm thinking of volunteering at the local animal shelter so I might look into that this weekend or early next week. I'm really missing my dogs (the one that passed away and the one in Massachusetts who was too old to transport). I have a little fear (well a big fear) that if I do volunteer work it will not only help me with my dog missing, but I will fall in love with one (or more) of them. I didn't want to get another dog until after a big trip we are taking in September...
Today we are going to Venice for lunch with a friend and probably back there tomorrow for a craft fair. I can't wait to see pics of Dave's newest grandchild!
Have a friendly Friday!

Liz, I understand your doggy-volunteer concerns. I could no more volunteer at an animal shelter than I could volunteer to test-taste the products of a Parisian patisserie.

207.2. I went to my support group meeting last night after being away for a few months. The meetings have always been a top priority but sometimes life does not allow you to do the things you need to do for yourself. I did the best I could for me, and have picked myself up, brushed myself off and put myself on the fast track back to health. I am so glad that my son and I went. It was good for me but probably even better for him. He downloaded the Couch to 5K app on his phone after I begged him. His phone suggested "Zombies, Run" so he downloaded that also. He LOVES it! Not only did he walk yesterday, but he spoke about the app to the group. (This is very unusual with his mental health issues.)
I see everyone around me at work getting picked off by the flu, so it makes going outside to walk at lunchtime much easier. However, it was not so easy getting up an hour earlier to do the second day of week one of the C25K app. I snoozed an extra 15 minutes, but it's a half hour program, so it was fine. I did it, even though it was cold. I bundled up better today than Wednesday.
This is quick because I have a care meeting for my daughter today so I'm rushing to get everything done beforehand, but I wanted to tell you guys that I got myself to a support meeting and am taking care of myself again. I have lost 11 lbs since day 1 of vacation on 1/11.
I hope to catch up on all of your news soon, good and bad.
