Weight 117.2, calories 857. Weight still creeping a bit due to my indiscretions on Sunday. It is muggy and warm this morning and I think the day is going to be quite overcast so we need to figure out what to do with ourselves other than retail therapy. Maybe try another game in addition to playing Jenga? I think I will search online for nature walks as I have been able to find intersting places on Cape Cod that way. Although nature here includes alligators and pythons...

I am planning on walking this morning even if it is raining. I do find that the early walk routine does help get me going for the day.

Have a tremendous Tuesday!

Alligators and pythons ! Oh my !! Just heard about the tsunami warnings and watches on the west coast. Glad to hear they've been cancelled/downgraded. Please stay safe !

Today is day 1100 logging in to MFP !! The safety plan of knowing I've committed to logging my food if I remain above or below my range for three or more days really helps me keep my head in the game. Actually, knowing that weighing and measuring my food/portions is part of logging for me, is most likely the critical part. I still have to weigh and measure food intermittently to "check my calibration", which does creep toward larger portions. My name on MFP is dlmciver. Feel free to friend me, and I'll accept !

Let's have a " so good, so good, so good " day, in honor of Neil Diamond !

Yesterday's 8 V/Fs came from carrots, lettuce, tomatoes, broccoli, water chestnuts, blueberries, and a Bosc pear.

Based on yesterday, it looks like grit-my-teeth days are settling in. Didn't walk in the afternoon and didn't make much headway on a difficult crossword. Made some progress on my husband's obituary, but didn't fini**** I received and made a few calls from/to family and friends. The grieving literature is right: Everyone wants me to buck up and feel better as soon as possible.

Yesterday I talked to our cruise line to start sorting changes required for the April/May cruise that my husband and I reserved last spring. I'm now thinking of that trip as a way to be with him and to say goodbye in surroundings we enjoyed so very, very much.

Today is yoga class and many errands.

Today's Theme: Buck up! (in sarcasm font)

Emoticons are inadequate, sometimes. The cruise does sound comforting/healing for you.

151.2 - exactly the same

Calories: 1,113 Carbs 117 G Fat 40 G and Protein 100 G, I also got in just over 8,000 steps for the day which I consider a win since I didn't do any formal exercise - just a busy day at work! My dinner was light (just 1 cup of chicken noodle soup) and I got hungry after dinner but didn't eat anything. I tried to curb the hunger by drinking (lots) of chai tea which did help but made it so I had to get up twice during the night to pee!

Snowing here today. How I would love to be walking the coastal trails or beach on Maui (or anywhere warm, really). Perhaps if we get enough snow and the temp is decent (I didn't look at that yet) I will go snow shoeing. Awaiting a call from the massage therapist to see if she has any openings today or Thursday.

Jenga sounds like a fun game Liz. I love that you are always planning fun things to do! Wish my DH was game for doing "things". Even before cancer he was a bit of a fuddy duddy and is content sitting on the couch reading or watching tv. I like to go DO things. I kind of wanted to travel to my hometown this weekend (stay with my brother) to see my nephew's Show Choir (he is the director) perform at competitions - his group is doing very well, but DH has no interest what-so-ever.

Ann, continue to process DH's passing in your own time, in your way. The cruise sounds fantastic!

DH used to amuse himself by planning activities, reading, etc. I kind of have to do the planning now or else he sits and vegetates.

I'm not sure my DH has planned even one family activity (other than our honeymoon and an occasional dinner out)!

Hi Guys,

I shall to to work today but starting at 9am instead of my usual "at the desk" by 6ish. I'm feeling better (even worked out yesterday afternoon) but the mornings are rough with coughing, etc. While I meet employee health's criteria to be at work, I am glad that my work today doesn't involve direct patient contact.

DH has it now and everything hits him 100x worse. Honestly, that is more painful than any symptom I could ever have :)

I had to look up the tsunami warning. Just like DianeO said, there was a warning, but it was lifted. Sobering, yes. But NOTHING LIKE ALLIGATORS AND PYTHONS. Holy smoke. Liz, if the Vikings series is to be modeled, you should be carrying a sharp ax in your bikini for protection.

Paula, I didn't start tracking yesterday but already am today :) Here we go! This board has so many good role models. I am not going to post stats, that would become a mental problem for me.

Cecily, can't wait to see how your dad fared with midwest weather and Mayo's schedule. Fingers crossed.

Hug your skinny,

Shel

My poor Dad! They ended up having to stay the night in Des Moines, were at the airport at the crack this morning for their flight, but the plane had ice build-up problems near all the sensors in the engines so they had to not only try to de-ice the wings, but also bring in air heaters for the engines. They couldn't get the sensors to respond so he didn't make it to Minneapolis until after 11am, 24 hours after their original landing time (his first appt would have been at 7am today).

So they are now trying to get back to San Diego and will have to try again to get back to MN in the next week or so. He actually sounded pretty chipper, but they were sucking down Bloody Marys, which was helping. I think as frustrating as it's been, it's also one more week or two of happy cancer limbo where he doesn't have any new news. As an aside, Mayo does have a facility in Scottsdale, but you can't get in there over the winter as no one sane really wants to try to fly to MN in January! Plus his doctors are in MN.

So today is continued dog sitting (they're so sweet) and not getting anything productive done since I'm not home...
