Weight 116.8, calories 1812 (yikes). Lots of snacks and some wine watching the 2 football games. The Patriots pulled it out, but they sure like to keep us on the edge of our seats until as close to the end as possible. The 3 women stayed up and watched the second game as well to see the Eagles win decisively, while the guys went home/to bed. My mother would have been thrilled at the two wins but in a quandry over who to cheer for at the Super Bowl. We lived in Pennsylvania for quite a while, mostly near Philadelphia before we moved to Massachusetts.
DH was cranky and a built more confused than usual yesterday because he didn't get enough sleep the night before. He is fighting with me over telling him when to go to bed or to go back to bed when he is up too early (says I am treating him like a child which is true in this case). He can't understand that 12 hours of sleep makes a big difference in his ability to function. Sigh...
One last thing: the no-noodle lasagne I made yesterday was fabulous! It took about 1.5 hours of preparation time, but was well worth it. MANY vegetables too. According to MFP, it is about 36 calories per ounce and 2.7 grams of protein (I weighed my serving). Here is a copy of the recipe:

Weight: 186.4 Seriously need to put away the scale. I'm feeling really big and tight in my stomach. Guess this was bound to happen!
Liz-good call on cooking the veggies for "lasagna." I made a zucchini lasagna once and did not cook or salt them, and it was like zucchini-lasagna soup.
DH and I had a fairly busy and accomplished weekend. Started with one of my sister's friend's engagement party on Friday night. The rest of the weekend was a combination of preparing the nursery, taking down the Christmas lights outside, and other random errands that have been neglected while DH was gone the past 2 weekends. We still have a lot to do in the nursery, but we did get other furniture moved out, the crib up, bedding on, valance up, etc. It gives me a better idea of the space of the room and what remains.
DH and I went to see the commuter on Saturday night. It was a fun movie. We were supposed to go out to eat beforehand, but DSD had come over and was extremely flustered by some homework. Granted, she's in college now, but there's also something nice about having the ability to help. I really think college is such a different ball of wax than highschool. I even took primarily college-prep (AP) courses in highschool and I felt very unprepared for the lack of instruction in college--they want you to learn it all on your own! So for my DSD, who has never taken Chemistry before, this is quite an eye-opener. Anyway, it was nice to hear DH helping her, even though it meant no dinner date after all.
Wowza, DH helping with college level chemistry. That could be quite a challenge! Very impressed with your fella.
I made DD's window treatments when I was pregnant. It was the only from scratch thing I did as part of nesting.....or ever again, now that I think about it.

Good morning, all!
I am staying home from work today for an URI, a rare occasion. I have had more medical leaves in the last several years than I have had days off for mundane illnesses. (And, lets not forget that I had perfect attendance k-12) I'll still work some from home -- not a hardship and I would rather do "my" work than have someone pawing thru my computer files.
Paaaauuuula, oh Paula...are you out there? Have you started logging? I haven't opened MFP yet but I am thinking about it. I am not sweet to join you, it is all about me. I need the accountability. I bought peanut butter pretzels at TJ's this weekend for heavens sake!
I was a total slug yesterday, much Vikings consumed. (Amazon-prime, not the football variety although I was saddened to hear that football-V's lost.) I fast forward thru the violence so I don't feel as sullied.
Hmmm, "sullied." That makes me think about Ann's visitor and that crazy damnit doll.
Liz, this will be quite a Super Bowl year for you! What fun. I love that you stayed up for the second game. Your recipe looks like something I would like tho it has eggplant in it. I want to like eggplant but never took to it. It is time to retry. (I know, I know....it just picks up flavors of other stuff. Except not for me. And Texture!) Eggplant and okra are the only two veggie's I actively avoid.
Enough avoiding logging in to work....I need to confess I am not going to be there.

I used way more zucchini than eggplant (because I could only find one small eggplant) and you absolutely could have eliminated the eggplant and used all zucchini with no real change to the overall taste.

I'm here Shel. An early work day again and meeting over lunch so no time to even peek at the boards until I came home! I did start logging. In fact, I was teaching a patient about weight control and showed her MFP and logged my foods eaten right there and then to show her how it works! Killed two birds with one stone as they say!
Greetings Football Fans
No weight today. I just forgot and now I have had coffee. Bad sign. Getting ready to drive to Marin to the doctor. At least its not raining here or there.
Yep, I think when I made veggie lasagne some time ago there was no eggplant. I am sure it can be done.
Liz, glad you had a fun party. Sorry DH is being difficult. Maybe there is a way to address the sleep schedule like you would with a child such as negotiating a schedule and writing it down. It must be so hard dealing with this daily.
Shel hope you are better. I would not want anyone else in my computer files either.
OOOhhh BB, we are getting excited for Nugget. I am glad your DH is back and was able to help with the chemistry homework. Starting college these days must be so much more complicated than it was when I went nearly 50 years ago. And it seemed complicated then and I went to a small school.
Yesterday was a lovely rainy afternoon playing scrabble next to a wood stove. Our group is a bunch of old hippie types who love words and play at all levels. Vegetarian food (i.e. carbs) but healthy. Of course I ate crappy stuff. I can't seem to stop grazing at such events so have to limit it. Or bring my own dense protein.
I can't stop thinking about the Damnit Doll and how ridiculous it is. Hmm, maybe there is an application to overeating. The F-IT Food Troll Doll that you beat up instead of eating. I would punch it and then go eat.
Oh well, time to get ready to get in the car. I will be home tomorrow night. Diane S
My F-IT food doll would be a chocolate dispensing piñata.
Have a good trip and hope your back plays nice.
