Weight 115.4, calories 1202. I had fantastic salmon off of the Happy Hour menu at a local burger place. Who would have guessed?

Yesterday's post is looking funky. I replied to Shel's comment about Ambien and the need for non-med Solutions, but MY COMMENT is at the end and looks as if AZLoser posted it! Something is strange on OH!

Anyway, we are hoping for an 80 degree day today. It squeaked up to about 68 yesterday but was cloudy and breezy so it felt cooler. Today we are making a vegetable lasagne and hosting friends to watch the 2 football games. Go Patriots!

Have a satisfying Sunday!

Good Morning Compassionate Parents, Caregivers and Friends !

Posts over the past week have certainly underscored the exceptional compassion and empathy in our tribe. Ann, all of this talk of pie makes me wonder about peoples' favorite pies. I know I certainly prefer pie over cake any day, and a warm apple walnut caramel with a dollop of vanilla ice cream would be hard to pass on. I'm eager to hear how your home spa day went ! Sounds like DSD's recent visit was a gift in so many ways. The peace you gave each other is priceless ! Liz, I hear your frustrations trying to insure that DH gets his sleep. Early in our relationship, Chuck worked third shift and slept during my waking hours. His PTSD makes him a very light sleeper and he, too, was cranky if his sleep was interrupted or insufficient. Mary, I hope your declutter day was a success ! I could so relate to your first positive tub experience. There was one mineral bath spa with huge tubs I visited once as an obese woman. I entered to a drawn bath, lowered my girth into the tub, and gallons and gallons of water were displaced onto the floor, flooding the room. Humiliation ! Paula, academic decathlon ! Wow ! I agree, I'd love to experience suit shopping with DS #2 ! Please, stay tuned in to your body, and listen to your heart. Nothing to fool around with ! Shel.. hope your sore throat is better. I could relate to "breathlessly sad" and your corresponding reminder to feel your feels. Diane, I hope your PPP and back problems are resolving. Back pain is HARSH ! Have you tried Biofreeze spray? Devon, glad your dinner and conversation with BFF was medicine for the soul. I agree that CBT has a major role in identifying and releasing the negative and replacing with positive. Thanks for the crazy dog advice. Cecily... two movies !! Love your lego experience and photos ! Our inner children are so important to nurture. BB...everyone home again? How was the trip ? Dave, hope you didn't catch the bug. Joey... hope you've experienced some calm after your adventures.

Cross country skiing on tap today ! Temperature will be in the 40s again today, but there is still plenty of snow ! Heaven !!

Have a great time skiing today Diane! I had great intentions to exercise today, but alas it is already 4:15 and I have not even started dinner yet!

Good morning!

Well, snowshoe was canceled because of winter storm warning in the mountains. I was already packed so decided that weather permitting, I would run up early to xc ski. But my cold is worse so I'll stay home. So, now I am glad the snowshoe was canceled by REI....they will try to reschedule.

Surely I am too weak to clean. I think a fancy-pants lego kit might be in order. Cecily, I am inspired! I probably won't run out to get one (raise your hand if you think I will run out to get one) but for sure I am going to pull out a puzzle. A faint substitute, but I will still enjoy. I am sure football games will be playing in the background.

DianeO, I, too, have been thinking about filling space formally occupied by the negative with something positive. Thanks so much for putting that out there.

Favorite pie: used to be cherry. I still like pies but they don't have the same appeal as they did pre-VSG. Agree that pie trumps cake, every time.

Hug your skinny (I am telling myself this, in particular. Not so great yesterday)

Sorry you're not feeling well Shel. It's a good thing that the snowshoeing trip was cancelled. Now you'll be able to enjoy it when it's rescheduled. Take care of yourself!

Mine was cherry as well. But really any fruit pie. I am usually satisfied just having a bite or two of the filling. BUT I haven't had cherry since WLS...

Bummer about the cancelled snowshoe trek. Hope it gets rescheduled for you! My favorite pie would apple, warm with ice cream on top! I also love a lemonade pie my Mom made when I was a kid - very easy. It has a can of frozen lemonade, a can of sweetened condensed milk and a tub of cool whip, all mixed up and put in a pre-made graham cracker crust. Light and refreshing summer treat!

I love lemon and I have not heard of that lemonade pie! It totally would have fit on the extended family pie table. (Yes, entire table devoted to pie!)

Greetings Early Birds

Bet you are shocked to see me here this early. For some reason I woke up early and craved coffee so here I am. DH and dogs still asleep. Tee Hee, whole house to myself even though I must be a little mouse.

Amazingly, my back is much better today. I was sure I would be cancelling trip to Marin tomorrow but if I feel this good I think I can do it. Its five hour drive through winding roads through the redwoods plus an hour of north bay traffic.

Liz, it is indeed odd that your post came in on another name. Glad you pointed it out. Some years back I made a veggie lasagne that was great using grilled zucchini as noodles. It was great. I would have shared the recipe if I could find it. It might have come from the egg face site. Have a fun party.

Today is a scrabble party that a group has quarterly games. There used to be a formal scrabble club here until some obnoxious person wrecked it. Some are absolutely killer good players but we keep it low key. Last time I played the word "penises" on a triple for 98 points! It was hilarious. There will be a pot luck which always has all kinds of hippie vegan food that is good. I will do a drive by of the health food store deli for my offering. After that I have to run down to one of the art galleries and pack up my stuff so the crew can paint the pedestals and do annual clean up. Glad I am not on that committee.

Diane O, you are so thoughtful in your posts and comments. Your inner peace shines through the internet. Hope you get warmth as well. Snuggle with Atlas!

Yeah, sleep is an important thing. I did use ambien last night but feel good this morning. I think a day of complete inactivity due to back made me need it.

145 today. I didn't eat that much yesterday but also hardly moved. At least I will get out and about today.

I have more to post but think I will break it up or there will have to be a Reader's Digest condensed book version of this.

I was shocked to see you posting this early. I assumed another OH poster switcheroo!

"5 hour drive through winding roads thru redwoods...." hmmmmm. I was wondering if it was worth driving down to the bay on the redwood trip. If my daughter comes with, I probably will. The only thing that keeps me from saying I am coming for sure is that this might be a better summertime activity. It looks like your weather is much like ours. Not terrible, or anything. But my webbed feet won't likely dry out? I am thinking last weekish in March....
