Weight 116.6, calories 1465, outside temperature 31 degrees. Though my weight has been stable for the last few days, I need to reign in the calories as I know 1500 is too many. I'm going to be valiant and walk today, but 31 in Southwest Florida! Today won't get out of the 50's, but then it will warm up daily after today for a long stretch in the mid to high 70's during the day (thank goodness).
Yesterday we actually sat by the pool (it was warm in the sun without the breeze). It was lunch by the pool day which is always enjoyable. We went to line dancing in the afternoon which is fun but also a bit of exercise.
DH had a fit last night around 11 because he said we were too loud (SIL and I in the next room). Really like a child getting angry. It never occurred to him to put earplugs in, so I guess I'll have to remind him from now on. I keep telling myself it's just the disease, but I do get mad about having to always deal with his needs, from cleaning up bathrooms to keeping silent so he can sleep (you should see me tiptoe around in the morning).
We are going to a Thai place for lunch with the walking group. Should be fun and we won't disturb DH there...
Have a tenacious Thursday!

Good morning!
Hard to imagine 31 in Florida.
My MIL went back to her AFH yesterday, the hospital couldn't find anything wrong except perhaps for a tad bit of dehydration. We will wait and see what today brings
Hospital eating was ok. Starbucks has some reasonable alternatives these days and the hospital gift shop did have small single chocolates for sale. I bought three. It was enough. REI was similar. I had 3 items in my arms, put two back on the racks and bought the one I needed. It was enough.
I'm tired this morning, got home late. I'll still go to my 5am workout and then off to work.
Hug that skinny!

132 today... a bit below my range. I've had a touch of a stomach bug, and am sure I'll rebound when I start holding liquids again. The temperature is in the single digits today, and I had to reschedule Vet for Atlas to get shots, as I didn't want to be away from the bathroom that long. Liz, I thought of you and all you are going through with DH. It is great that SIL is able to share some of these experiences and expand here awareness of her brother's status.
Wouldn't it be great for our tribe to meet in a big house on a Caribbean island, with the terrain for every type of hike, hot sunny weather, fresh fruit, vegetables and fish steps away ? I'm so there ! That is balance and NOT asking for too much !

211.0 Five days of going out to dinner with shared appetizers and desserts, snacking and drinking, eating more than I do at home, and I lost SEVEN pounds! 7 lbs in 5 days!!! verified on my home scale, lost it without a conscious effort or thought, eating whatever I wanted (all clean foods, except for the ****tails), never hungry, never beyond full, and having so much fun walking, swimming, and dancing. We also lounged by the pool, soaked in the sun and talked. I told them about you guys, and now I also have their support. I am so lucky!
I tried new foods and watched the 7 other super healthy women's behaviors and recipes to copy. One woman has a kale, spinach and fruit smoothie for breakfast every day. It was so good, and I have copied it yesterday and this morning, only changing it up to add a scoop of protein powder. I now eat KALE! every day. Another woman made a beet salad with kidney beans for lunch one day. I made a backup plan, but said I would try it. I thought I hated beets because my parents used beets from a can. My friend used fresh beets. What a difference! So now I like beets and bought the ingredients to make beet salad.
Four of my friends ran a half marathon. One of my friends ran the 5K. One was a supporter who ran 4 miles then ran back to run with the slower runners, then met up with the 5K runner then walked in with me. I walked with a woman with an injured hip. She is a friend of my friend's and was very hospitable to us while we were visiting, so I never considered leaving her. I didn't know walkers would be timed, because I only did one other 5K and walkers weren't timed. So I came in under an hour at 59 minutes (19 minute mile). This is going to be an annual event, so they are all going to train to beat their times. I said I could beat my time the next day.
It was too much of a coincidence to run into members of the Jersey Shore Running Club, so I joined their club. I am going to train to run the entire 5K next year instead of leisurely walking it. I don't even know who I am anymore.
Oh, Joey! What a great post. Sounds like you found how exhilarating it is to take care of YOURSELF. And love YOURSELF. And have some f**king FUN!
Keep it up, girl!
