Didn't get a naked weight but the clothed one made me frown. Making poor choices as of late. Wish I had the ooooooomph to turn it around. Maybe David should share his plan with me!

We will go to the Japanese Steak House for DS#3's birthday tonight. His actual b-day is tomorrow but Ben has chemo and probably won't feel up to a dinner out, so tonight it is!

Day off today. Winter is still here in WI (surprise, surprise). The boys have finals at school so will get home early once the exams are done today. DS#1 got a second job - don't see much of him but he still manages to make messes around the house that let me know he's been around.

Aw, heck! The 3 pounds found its way back. Maybe the scale was sleepy yesterday.

Getting up was difficult today. I'm still tired from being ill. I'm sure I'm still getting over this bug, so it is normal to be somewhat zapped.

It is recess for the kids and I'm looking at the piles I must sort through after being absent. It's amazing to me how much paperwork I shuffle through, organize, sort and discard each day. The backlog is daunting. I'm sort of ignoring it for the moment, but it is infringing on my "clean slate" place, which is very important for me to be able to work productively. I think I will spend lunch time organizing things.

Food. Bleh... The thought of healthy eating and the effort it takes feels burdensome. It's not just knowing how to eat well, it's a lot of work in today's world. I saw a Weigh****cher's commercial the other night with people boasting of losing 10s and 10s of pounds eating whatever they wanted and the amply Rubenesque Oprah singing about Paaaaasta and WW's freedom plan. I piqued my interested. I know it's yet just another diet promo to make money for a profit making industry, but diets are like gambling - if I play long enough, I will have to win. Oh, wait, I did that already, but kept playing...

"Gluco-Carbo-Choco-Binge-a-holic". I truly love that as my descriptor. It's funny, yet brutally honest. I can work with that. Ice cream should probably make it's way in there, too, but I think that ice cream is covered in the Gluco-Carbo part. Shoot, chocolate is, too, but chocolate seems to hold a food group all its own for so many.

Ann is right. We all have our battles. At times though, some battles hold more weight in a community than others. Currently, Ann's battle is at the forefront, as is Paula's. We rally where we rally. It is our nature. Focus on one does not negate the value of the other battles. Dear Ann, you are our focus right now. The ending of your physical partnership with Del and the terrible hurt and sorrow it brings to you is important to us. You are a valued member of our little tribe. We surround you and want to protect you while you do what you must.

That ad peeves me. The pasta, giant burritos, cupcakes, etc. The tagline ought to be "WW - look how much crap you can eat!"

Weight 163.2, calories thousands

While I'm a proponent of eating in moderation, I think having ready access to some things in my house is just a bad idea. For example, I think going out for ice cream every once in a while is a delicious treat, but keeping Skinny Cow ice cream sandwiches in my freezer is a terrible plan. So I got rid of them. By eating them all. Grrr.

This morning I hiked 8 miles then came home and walked the dog. I should be eating lunch, but the only thing that sounds good is carby garbage. Except I ate it all yesterday to get rid of it. Carbs beget carbs...

I hope Tuesday is treating you well.

Yeah - I keep having to ban things. The Almonds have to stay out of the house right now. The cornbread is somewhere where I don't have to look at it (which helps).

All of you are in my thoughts and prayers! I have to write quickly. Dinner needs to be made as Mariah and I both have dance tonight, back to back. Today was good overall, though I too need to look at certain foods. I know I will eat nuts until they're gone, except for sliced almonds for some reason, that I can keep in the house and just add a little to my yogurt. Well, what did I buy the past 2 days - mixed nuts! Both days they made my stomach go ballistic - perhaps a sign from HP to cut the crap? :) Hugs to all, Mary

Greetings Dear People

143.5! Down another pound. All I can think of is its the daily mile with Tesla plus absence of junk food. Jee, how often do I have to re-learn this lesson?

Ann, so glad you saw your therapist and had some retail therapy too. Sometimes just having someone to listen to you is the best thing - no judgement and no thoughtless advice. I think of you often and am grateful to have my DH with all his idiosyncrasies. Walking makes for good therapy too. One step at a time, one breath at a time.

Dave I love the image of you rocking the baby. Years ago there was some tv commercial which showed an enormous extremely muscular man without a shirt on who was tenderly holding a tiny baby. There is strength in tenderness. So sorry you had the flood and I am glad you are able to put it in perspective.

Hey, if anyone wants some good kids music, our nephew's wife (highly educated musician) has done a cd of kids music called "The Freckles Project", Its adorable. Maybe best suited to toddler age kids.

DH got sick last night from eating dense protein (chicken) so I have to dial it back on his meals. Protein is indeed filling. But I was up until after 4 am so I slept in this morning and feel out of sorts. And my hip is really hurting. Time for the forbidden advil.

Liz, love that sunset. I can hear the clinking of the ice in the ****tails. I like to watch those beach house shopping tv shows which remind me of you.

We have another offer on my mom's house and it looks like a realistic one. We shall see. Little brother the real estate mogul is in charge of the terms.

Well, lets all hug and soothe ourselves as if we were Dave's grandchild. The inner child needs comfort and NOT with mac and cheese. Diane S
