148 OTD. I would like to wish away 20 pounds! Too bad it doesn't work like that! Of course if it did, I would have never met any of you great people!
Liz, so glad you made it to Florida, even if it is a *****illy there. My DH called my Mom last night to tease her about iguanas potentially dropping on them! The thought of that makes us chuckle. The barn doors sound really cool - I love that look!
Ann, sorry to hear of DH's "run" of bad luck with chemo side effects. My DS#1 is still running too! I think the probiotics we got him are helping some though - something to think about for your DH if he doesn't already take one. I know Ben's doctors recommended a probiotic for him as well.
Diane O, nice to be able to catch up with DD via the phone. I talk to my Mom quite often but with her failing memory it is sometimes more frustrating than cathartic.
DS#3 is still sick with upper respiratory crud. Fever of 102 yesterday and coughing up lots of ick. Will take him to Urgent Care today if he is not considerably better.
Still bitter cold here - I hate it. Wish I could be back at my happy place in Hawaii, walking the coastal trails or the beach, eating fresh pineapple, mango and papaya and fish and hearing the waves roll on to the shore lulling the stress away!
Need to go back to the Verizon store. I tried to put the protective glass covering on my new phone by myself and it was a disaster. Dust speckles galore which makes the shiny new phone look like crap. I cleaned it like instructed to do so and a few dust speckles were still there but I needed to shift the position of the glass a bit (it was just covering the speaker on top) and when I did that, it was like inviting a dust tornado under the glass! That's $40 down the drain - live and learn!
BB, have fun with the girls while DH is away - your time for that kind of stuff will be coming to an end soon but be filled so many other wonderful things that being a Mom entails!
Dave - cuddle with that grandbaby and keep her and yourself warm. Hug that beautiful wife of yours and encourage her to join our little group (she had surgery too, right?) we would love to chat with her too!
Shel - take the day off from hiking and sit by the fire with a dog in your lap. Sometimes we just need to relax! Tomorrow get back on the hills or hit the yoga studio if the weather doesn't cooperate!
Diane S - have an extra cup of coffee for me. Love the stuff but the caffeine doesn't love me. I usually drink decaf coffee (with too much flavored creamer) but right now my beverage of choice has been chai tea.
Cecily - I am so happy you have joined our group. It feels like you have been with us from the start (which was well before I joined in). Enjoy the nice weather and send some my way please!
Devon - good on you for having your OH article "published" elsewhere. Exciting! You really should think of writing a book. I know I ordered "The big book on VSG" https://www.amazon.com/BIG-Book-Gastric-Sleeve-Gastrectomy-e book/dp/B00C1GK0FQ off of Amazon when I was first planning on the surgery. It mostly deals with the physical aspects of the surgery. I think there is a huge market for dealing with the emotional aspects of it all as well. You would do great!
Mary, Lorna, Linda, Lesa and anyone else I am forgetting - we miss you - come back!
Love to you all!
Greetings Iguana Dodgers
Hey I forgot my weight yesterday. Still at 144 so a pound of chips and crackers is gone. Only 19 more to go. It occurs to me I can't really remember what I have snacked on to cause this regain. That tells me it wasn't all that good anyway. Note to self : if its not truly memorable, don't eat it.
We also had tilapia last night but just plain cooked in a little butter. And broccoli with some parmesan cheese. It made me want to pig out on broccoli which I sort of did.
Liz and Ann, sorry for your insomnia and especially Ann's reasons for it. But I am glad you are both safe and warm. Its astonishing Liz that your flight got out on time. A true holiday miracle. The doors sound great. Love pocket doors.
Diane O, glad you were able to talk to DD. I imagine you around your cozy pellet stove with a warm drink and the phone. Lovely way to spend a chilly evening.
Paula, sorry so many are under the weather in your house. Hope relief comes soon. I sure hear you about the smart phone cover. If there is any possible way to mess up electronics I will do it. So DH does it all for me. You have teenage boys to handle electronics.
Speaking of which, DH is all excited to get a 55 inch tv. But he has measured our suv and it may not fit so he is talking about putting it on the roof rack. I see disaster in the making. I think he should have it delivered. Surely Costco will do this. They are the source of everything. (consider the movie "Idiocracy").
Well dog Chip escaped the vet experience yesterday. Long story but first they called to reschedule later in the day and then again for next week. Vet had an emergency surgery. I had already brought him to the studio with me so he got a walk in the marsh across the street.
All right everybody. Go exude some kindness. Diane S
Great idea! I did roasted broccoli and cauliflower last week for first time ever, but with EEVOO, salt and pepper. I'm going your route next time. Thanks!
