Weight 115.5, calories 932. Shel, I joined you in pooping by eating almonds the last couple of days. I love them, but have discovered that if I'm not eating them regularly but then have 1.5-2 ounces in a day that they act as a natural laxative (must be the fiber). So I have them intentionally when needed lately.

We drove the 3 hours round-trip to visit with DD yesterday and were glad we did. Today I have 3 pre-Florida appointments to take care of (plastic surgeon, hairdresser and vet). Tomorrow we are supposed to get a lot of snow, so I'm glad I'm able to get those out of the way. Especially the hair! I had to go an extra couple of weeks because of the plastic surgery so am WAY overdue. Plus I want some time to find someone in Florida to do it the next time so I didn't want to leave feeling like I have a hair emergency. I'm getting a little worried that we won't get out early Friday, but hopefully the snow will be gone in time for the roads and airports to be clear!

To more important things: Thank you for being such good listeneners and supporters. It is better than group therapy because we talk about so many other things too (the good, the bad, the ugly). This group has such a wealth of experiences and sharing them is so helpful. I love you all!

Have a winning Wednesday!

I agree ! Reading and posting here are cathartic ! The group who posts here regularly represents only a fraction of the total daily views on this forum. All are encouraged and welcome to post and participate !

Off to get gas and have my car serviced during this heat wave of a high of 26 today. We are heading into 4-5 days of wind chills -15 to -35. Brutal ! Liz, I hope you can get out Friday. Don't take any chances... your oasis awaits.. whenever you get there !

I've got to work some cold weather exercise back into my daily routine. I cant let the puppy's routine pre-empt mine. He was 5.7 pounds at 7.5 weeks and I can't wait to see how much he weighs tomorrow at 9.5 weeks. He's all signed up for Puppy Kindergarten class, beginning in two weeks.

Stay warm !

Weight: 134.0
Macros: cals - 1,438, carbs - 150, fats - 38, protein 103, fiber 17
Veggies/Fruits (goal 8): 7
Sleep (goal 8 hours): 9 hours!
Exercise: None (except for all that housecleaning)

What a difference a day makes! The kitchen is very clean. Did four loads of laundry. Straightened up the house immensely, but with more to go. I had no idea that I loved washing dishes so much!

And then there was the wonderful, wonderful food I ate yesterday - protein, delicious veggies, fruits. Oddly, I was so much more full and satiated by 1438 calories of nutritious food than by 3,500 calories of holiday crapola.

But best of all, I discovered yet again that 3.5 years of consistently eating well (at the 95% level, not 100%) makes it shockingly easy to get back to basics. I feel safe again.

I have a very full morning of aquarobics, a medical appointment, grocery shopping (at two stores), and other errands. Hubby has already left for the chemo lounge where he'll have hydration this morning. Yesterday was a good day for us both - physically and emotionally. We're definitely talking about our feels these days - good, bad, indifferent. My therapist's invitation for us to do so and DSD's visit and her openness to her own feels has kept the door to that room wide open. Good times.

Today's theme: Giddyup!

I'm glad you are able to talk. Not so easy for me as I mentioned the other day...

You know it is funny, but I feel the same way when I eat on plan - Actually more full and "safe". I always eat the same breakfast and mostly the same lunch because they fill me up, I enjoy them, and they are "safe".

Weight: 181.8

Dr.'s appointment and u/s today! We get to see Nugget! (Though not 3d) So the Dr.'s office scale weighs 2lbs. heavier than my home scale (or I gain that mu*****lothes, whatever). So I can expect to be 183.8. Last time I was 181 on their scale (2 weeks ago) so I'm up 2.8ish. But they incorrectly wrote down 176--which means I'm going to get some crazy stares when they think I"ve gained 8lbs. in 2 weeks.

Still experimenting with my IP and still not crazy about it. Like the crockpot it seems somewhat one-dimensional. Sure there are several buttons, but overall you're going to probably end up with a "braise" more or less. And I just don't see any advantage over crockpot! I made port carnitas last night in IP. It still took over an hour between coming to pressure, 40 min. cooking, and natural pressure release. And all this had to be done AFTER I was home and there's steam spurting out and freaking me out. My sister got one too and I'm contemplating sending hers back and letting her use this for awhile seeing if she likes it so we don't both have one that goes unused. Idk. Not bad but I understand the crockpot...and I could've just dumped and gone to work and come home and voila.

I think the IP cooks meats much faster than a crock pot. I don't use mine much but it is good for shredded beef for hot beef sandwiches, soups and chili's and I like being able to start with frozen meat if needed!

I did make yogurt in mine the other day. Really easy and tastes good. Really big for a yogurt machine though! I'm going to keep trying new stuff...

All my foodie friends are currently rhapsodizing about New York Times columnist Melissa Clark's IP cookbook. So I bought it today on Amazon.

I'm going to actually use my IP! :)

148.4 today. Am starting a big clean in anticipation of our living room furniture delivery tomorrow. Current furniture will move downstairs until DS#1 moves out. New phone comes tomorrow too - I've been without for about a week and I'm getting antsy for it again.

Ben is at chemo today too. Fun, fun, fun!

No excuse not to exercise today - hopefully I can get motivated enough to JFDI!

What's your but?

That was the title of an email from REI yesterday but it came just after I read DianeS's description of what her butt cheek was made of. Both made me giggle.

I should ski today but I am cold. (I know I have no business complaining about cold.) I should put Xmas decorations away but I should ski. I am oppressed by buts. Honestly, doing either will make me feel productive but instead I sit by the fire, wrapped in dogs, paralyzed.

Good thing I live on the West coast....it is still early. There is time to do both.

I think I will topple to the right and put JFDI on snooze.

Hug that skinny.

Shel
