Ann, yay for DH eating well and for a good conversation with DSD.

Liz, brrrrrr. It is cold here in WV but not nearly as cold as it would be in WI. Hopefully DH will give games a try again.

BB, neat that your relationships with the steps is going well. I'm sure baby girl will make those bonds even closer.

Time for grandma cooked breakfast

More later,

Paula

Greetings Intrepid Maintainers

145 today due to lack of potty productivity and junk eating. Its just become way too easy but at least most of its gone. My tummy is like the Little Shop of Horrors plant "feed me". I need to tune it out.

Ann I love reading that DH and daughter are having special talks. Hope you get to listen in. And its good that you have gotten into cooking as everyone wins! I will try the honey mustard thing as chicken can get old.

Not much on the agenda today. Its sunny and calm. I got a Tesla walk in yesterday and will try again today. Otherwise, its financial stuff and paper shuffling which I have come to detest.

BB, your thoughts on the instant pot are interesting. I thought of buying one but I do not wish to make my own yogurt and for two people I am not sure what I would do with it. I use the crock pot occasionally when I do a pot roast and its fine. Just not enough space for unused cooking devices. And I have so many blender items from the protein shake days that now gather dust. If anyone can figure out what to do with it, its you as you are such a great cook. I think Devon has one.

DH is out and about. I think he took Pat's ashes to the post office to ship them off to their final home. They had been in our kitchen pantry. Sort of creepy.

And hey BB, I will be watching OU in the Rosebowl. Watched Stanford and TCU in a great game last night. I was rooting for Stanford but TCU pulled it out after being way behind. They earned it.

Liz and all, so sorry its so freezing cold there. No fun. The news reports of cold and snow in the midwest and east are frightening. I remember one year in Omaha where it did not get above zero for a full month! Thank goodness for good public utilities that kept us all warm. Diane O, puppy training in the super cold must be a challenge. My former dogs loved the snow. Current dogs have never seen it.

Here is to a great and healthy holiday weekend for all. Cheers. Diane S

My mom's ashes are still in a drawer. It'll be 7 years tomorrow. We can't seem to come to an agreement on where to put her, so my plan is that when my Dad passes (hopefully a long time from now!) I will sprinkle them together in the water at the lake house in MI. That way she won't be alone somewhere.

But I do feel some shame that I still have her... It's a good reminder to make sure you tell your loved ones what you want. My mom's refusal to discuss it has left her in a drawer!

Weight 162.4, calories 1601 (a big improvement!)

I feel as if I've caught up to the proverbial wagon and am running along with it about to throw myself inside. It's a better position than not even being able to see the wagon from where I was standing the last week!

I went this morning with my friend who is starting a flower business to buy flowers for a job she has tomorrow. We may get to go tomorrow and volunteer to put flowers on one of the Rose Parade floats. She went yesterday and had an amazing time. I hope it works out, fingers crossed! I love the parade and I love flowers, but have never worked on a float before.

Today for lunch I had one of the new Real Good Foods enchiladas. They make the tortillas out of chicken and cheese then stuff it with normal fillings. It works out to 25g of protein and 4g of carbs. I thought it tasted great, but a little saltier than I like. I like the pizzas they make the same way. A good quick alternative I think.

Time to go walk Fergie...

Happy Friday!

I like their pizzas too. They always look so small in portion size but are super filling!

Even though we don't want to eat what we used to I do think sometimes we have to pay attention to hungrier days (eat more but make better choices than we used to). I think the body has a reason it gets hungry (when it is real hunger). I wasn't hungry at all post-op 2 weeks ago even though there was nothing done near my digestive system. Once I started being more mobile I was super hungry. Your body needing more food maybe just coincided with a time (holiday) when there is more stuff around that isn't totally healthy.

Anyway, once you get fully hitched to that wagon you'll be fine.
