I had a great day today with my Dad and his wife. They came over this morning and we opened presents, called cousins, cooked up a storm, ate like starving people, then lolled on the couch watching football. The perfect day. My dad was very sore from his trainer sessions this week, so there is some progress on that front for his recovery.

I was thinking this morning that a year ago today I told them after Christmas dinner that I was thinking about weight loss surgery. I had already met with the surgeon a week before, but I wasn't sure how they would take it, so I didn't want to mention it before I was more sure myself. They were super receptive and have been so supportive of me through all of this. I'm lucky!

They just left, so I think I'm going to go to the movies with my friend's family to see the Star Wars movie. I haven't seen any of the last several installments, which means I may have no idea what's going on, but it should be fun anyway.

Tomorrow is another hike in the morning, which ought to get off at least 3 bites of the cheesy scalloped to die for potatoes I ate today!
