Sunday, Christmas Eve, December 24, 2017
Weight 115.6, calories 1071. Those calories included 1/2 a piece of carrot cake and some wine (totally worth it).
We went to Martha's Vineyard with DSD to have dinner with and visit some relatives of DSD's stepfather. Very enjoyable! We ate at the Black Dog Inn, a very MV kind of place which was decorated beautifully (picture of the outside below), then had dessert at their home on the harbor in Oak Bluff. OB is where all the ginerbread houses are (a few blocks from the harbor).
Today we are going with DS to his birthmothers house this afternoon, then Christmas dinner at SIL's home. We will probably open most gifts in the morning, but this is really the main part of our Christmas celebration as most everyone has other places to go tomorrow.
Have a wonderful and spiritual Christmas Eve!

Merry Christmas Eve Morning!
Weight 147 OTD.
Tried to have a bit of a "feels" talk with Ben last night with no luck. We've been married 20 3/4 years and never really talked about feelings, so not sure why I thought it might work now. My heart is sad thinking this might be our last Christmas together. I'll try my best to put on a happy face for him and the boys for our celebration tonight, no promises that there won't be some tears though!
I bought matching PJs for the whole family. I think a lazy day watching Christmas (and other) movies might be in order.
Crab legs, steak (for Ben and DS#3 for sure), homemade baked mac n cheese and roasted brussel sprouts on the menu for tonight. I didn't buy/make a dessert but we did pick up some peppermint ice cream per DS#3's request last night (not sure if there is any left or not though, those boys can plow through food). Tomorrow will be a full day in the car without restaurant stops since I doubt any will be open. We will stock a cooler with snacks and beverages. I think we will split the driving between the 4 legal drivers in the fam.
Wishing you all a very joyous Holiday with your families!
Merry Christmas Eve everyone!
Liz-your travels always sound so wonderfully quaint. I love how accommodating you are of everyone's plans.
Paula-I wish you all the very merriest Christtmas. Hope it's everything you're wanting.
DH and I attended a Christmas party with friends last night. At first I thought it was wonderful that someone was having a party so close to Christmas--because we stay in town and usually by this point all the celebrations (except family on day and eve) are over. But now I'm seeing other reasons why maybe it's not the best idea. Ahem DH wanted to stay and keep drinking whiskey. I was not amused :( Start getting ready for church here in a few.
So I ended up making the non-popcorn version. But this is what I was originally looking at

This is the non-popcorn one I made. And people gobbled it up. I love the combo of salty and chocolate
136 here. Yesterday, DDs and I moved up our lunch and time with my mother due to the impending weather. We ate at the restaurant at her independent living facility, which offers many healthy options. My drive home was into accumulating snow for the first hour and not so bad the second hour. I tried to remain in the moment and feel grateful for our time together rather than thinking about missing them today and tomorrow. My oldest, married DD will only be with ex for two nights, as she and my SIL will spend the remainder of her time home in their apartment in Amherst and with his parents in Boston.
BB, the picture of Nugget made me smile and get a bit teary. Modern technology is breathtaking ! Paula...enjoy every moment with your family. Sorry Been wasn't responsive to your first door opening. He may surprise you.
May you all feel peace and joy as you live in the moment.
