Too much to say here as far as weight and eating goes. I think I will leave it at this: Yesterday my anxiety level was high, my fuse terribly short, but luckily, I realized it was all me and not anyone else. I was able to keep things in check and not take it out on Ron. I went to bed feeling somewhat accomplished, but ended up having a silent episode of anxiety once in bed alone with my thoughts. It was OKAY, honestly, because I had a little "ah ha" moment and it did not last long.

Christmas has forever been one of my favorite times of year. Over the past few years I have found Christmas time to be less and less enjoyable. I am pretty clear on why. First, much of it has to do with putting me too far down on the priority list and second, I have a long history of trying to be whatever people need me to be whenever they need me to be it. (Hope that makes sense.) The third is what I perceive as the expectations of others projected on me. Understanding I have made my own bed is a good thing. It means I can make a choice to buy new linens and change the sheets! That is how I am approaching today.

I am off to work with Lucky and Dot, which is my daytime priority. Wrapping and grocery shopping can be done this evening. Tomorrow will be dedicated to cooking and cleaning.

I am off to make up my second "To Do" list for the week. I seem to function better with a list these days.

I want to wish my VSG Maintenance Family a wonderful Christmas! Whether you celebrate and honor a Christian tradition, or not, it is the sentiment of the season - birth, renewal, hope, and a pure light beckoning to us through the dark so that we may see beyond the limits of what is and to see with hope to what can be - that I wish for you all.

FOOD FIND

I just got a package of Bacon Jerky made by the Humboldt Jerky Company. Impulse purchase at the hardware store. Stats are decent - 90 calories and 4 g protein per oz. It tastes great! Kind of sweet and hot.

Not sure where you all could get it - maybe on line or other brands. Not cheap but nothing good is. DS
