No weight today, not because of time - just didn't want to face the music - ostrich behavior! I have been way over indulging in the Holiday sweets.

Looks like my work hours will probably be staying the same for now, still only part-time so when I need to carry the health insurance it will be very expensive but doable!

Day off today. One errand to see the heart rhythm doctor's office. When they turned off my faulty lead, they missed something and need to do some other adjustments. Other than that, plan for the day is to get to the Verizon store and trade in old phones (actually the boys already have the new ones, just have to turn in old ones for some credit back), planning dinner for tonight and doing some kind of exercise (I have not done anything for over a month I bet!)

It is a good morning. Working of formica tops. It has been years since I have done any but in my 20 s I did it every day.

Went over this morning at 4 am to DD apartment to help with the baby. She is not getting enough sleep. She busies herself when the baby is sleeping and is tired when the baby wakes her in the night to be fed. Baby is fussy every day from about 5 to 10 pm. DD got 7 hours of sleep last night interrupted by only 1 feeding. She is new to motherhood and does not realize how well behaved Adalyn is. I always say the first child is usually the most well behaved. It is Gods way of tricking you into having a second one. They will figure it out.

Wt is unchanged.

More later, David

It is not perfection it is practice. I went kicking and screaming in my youth but I have lots of kid experience thanks to DW. We did not date long but I asked her how many kids she wanted and she said 12. I thought she was joking. Should have run then. Day care, long term in home care for a truck driver, foster care. Way over 100 kids maybe 200.

I have my surgery follow up appt today with the surgeon. Other than really itchy incisions, I feel like myself again. Then later I need to clear a path in the garage for a refrigerator I am having delivered for in there tomorrow. Why one person with a VSG needs two refrigerators, I cannot fully explain, but my house fridge is like an optical illusion - ginormous on the outside yet seems to hold very little on the inside. The fridge seems like it's all drawers when I want shelves and the freezer door doesn't open wide enough to get anything in there, plus it's really narrow, so anything of any size has to sit in there ****eyed taking up a whole shelf.

But first I need a flat iron for my new 'do, so I'm off to Ulta.

Hope you have a wonderful day!

Greetings My Dear Ones

142.5 today. Better than a gain. Just got off the phone with our Christmas group and we will do dinner with the usual suspects. Must adjust the Christmas shopping list a little. Fortunately everyone likes fine wine and there is plenty made around here.

So much interesting chat today! Yep, lets do the online shower for BB's nugget. Bonnie you just have to put your address in private messages or something. We all want to do this.

Ann, Paula, Liz and all, yep, do the "hard" talks somehow. I did that with my mom and am glad I did. And I did some with crazy Pat and am glad for that too. Life is a drive in a car with no "reverse" gear.

Ann sorry your knee kept you up. Nine hours of sleep is indeed key to a good life and also weight management. I have been having some pain in my upper leg(s) for some time. First the right leg then both. It feels like I ran up a zillion flights of stairs. So I have been puzzling about this for some time and its usually worse in the morning. But last night I had a dream I had run some sort of race and my legs hurt. I woke up with my legs hurting quite a bit and realized that I was contracting those upper leg muscles in my sleep! I used to have a lot of restless leg issues and its kind of the same thing. Anyway, mystery solved. Maybe I can get my doctor to write me a prescription for a jacuzzi.

Shel, I had to laugh at your recent "professional" experience. I used to hear some pretty bizarre stuff but nothing like your "show and tell". What was this person thinking?

Hey Diane O, glad you are getting the snuggle safe for Atlas. I never had any issues with dogs trying to chew on it but it occurred to me this might be an issue. I always covered it with bedding. Yep, double the dogs and double the poop. I used to have a poop pick up service in the midwest.

Hey Liz, glad you are on the mend. Get the sunglasses and do a "Jackie O" thing.

Sorry about your cousin Ann. No fun at Christmas. But I like your therapy homework. A good lesson for all.

Off to do my own homework but first more coffee. Diane S

209.2. Still rolling in the breakers. My daughter is out of the hospital again.

My car has been in the shop for a week and a half. It needed parts, new tools to install the parts, then another broken part was found when trying install the new part. I have been borrowing relatives' cars, bumming rides and walking a lot. Yesterday, I casually mentioned to my son that I need secondary transportation and should get another motorcycle. I sold my old one years ago because he was so worried that I'd crash. Either he has more confidence in my abilities or the benefit outweighs the risk, I don't know, but he agreed with me. I found a 1996 Honda Shadow 1100 that I really really want that is affordable. The insurance is ridiculously low compared with car insurance. If the bike is not there when I'm ready to buy next week or so, then it was not meant to be, and I'll look for another.

My office sent out an email about a new health plan benefit and a group health initiative for walking 10,000 steps. They have prizes and other incentives. I signed up immediately. Others have been Debbie Downers complaining about it and being paranoid. Odd.

Hey Joey, Good to hear from you. I had been wondering about you. Glad you signed up for the step challenge.

Reminds me of a time many years ago when our law firm had a health screener come out. It was an RN and I thought it would be some old lady. Turns out it was a good looking young man. This was in my FAT days. He proceeded to check my tummy tire flab with calipers. Then took my blood pressure and wondered why it was a little high!!!! Well duh, I was so humiliated even though the guy was very professional. So I was a sort of Debbie Downer about the whole thing. Probably something like that going on with your people too.
