I think that is so HEALTHY. If not difficult. And it's wonderful you get this advice from a mediator. I tend to want to discuss things and prepare for both the likely and eventual, but DH is more of a "cross that bridge when we get to it" type. It sounds like you and hubby are on the same page and have a plan! Some conversations in life are unpleasant, but it's easier to get them out in the open rather than let them fester. That seems to be a theme on here recently.

I've been thinking a lot about you and Paula especially. You and yours are weighing heavily on my heart, especially this Christmastime. I'm so so impressed by your attitudes.

I don't know if it would hit to close to home for you two, but there's an older Christmas movie that made me think about your situations. It's called The Gathering and stars Ed Asner (or Mary Tyler Moore fame). I know Paula shared that she was trying to make this a very memorable Christmas with Ben as it might be the last and essentially that is the premise of this movie. We certainly hope that is not the case for any of us, but honestly none of us ever know. Nothing in life is guaranteed. That's one of those horrible truths you hate to face, but once you embrace it I think you are freed to live more in the moment. Well it sounds like that's what you have done and I aspire to live more like you some day.

Much love

Sounds like you have a good therapist, Ann. Feeling all the feels can be really hard, but necessary.

Good morning!

Quick posting to say I LIKE everything even tho I have (sadly) only quickly scanned in recent days.

All you need to know about my yesterday is that a patient said "I have something to show you" and I said my usual "I am a pharmacist, I don't diagnose, so keep your pants on" and he says "No, not that, its THIS" and opens up a Kleenex and presents the world's largest booger. He had saved it for me, for hours. I felt assaulted, CAN NOT UNSEE!

Moving on. BB, I am hurt by your friends, too, but I know isn't because of lack of affection. You will receive gifts, I am sure of that. The lack of shower organization can be separated from getting ready for baby's arrival. Hear me when I say that babies need very little in those first months. You have a crib in the attic and other necessities are easily purchased. Let me/us know if you want to know the necessities.

And I am sending you a shower gift even if I have to address it to BB with the VSG in Oklahoma with your picture (from Reddit) on the package so the post office can hunt you down. Or, maybe I should have Reddit figure out your real identity. Or, maybe you register somewhere and let us know where? We want to virtual shower, if you will allow.

Cecily, I set goals, yes I do. We will get back to that another time. :)

Love you all. Peace and Hope.

Shel

You guys are just too sweet. Thank you for allowing me to be imperfect. I'm so mad at myself for even letting this get to me but thank you for letting me vent. I really didn't want to say anything to anyone irl or else of course they'd say "let me throw this shower".

I think I just had a grinchy day yesterday. I also allowed myself to get frustrated with my grandmother. We have the same conversations and then after all that she doesn't do what it was we decided on. I'm practicing on being better and having more patience because I know it's not her intent to be difficult and I know someday God willing I will be needing the same kind of help. But today I decided to skip breakfast rather than potentially say something I might regret.

OB appointment today so we'll see on weight. I know it'll be more than the 4lbs. I want each visit (actually it's been 5 weeks, so 5lbs. would be okay) but it occurred to me that right or wrong I put on weight this time of year to the tune of at least 2-3lbs. so adjusting for that I'm still doing great! At least that's what I'm telling myself. Just starting to hope baby has room to grow. Many people still don't even guess I'm pregnant, much less third trimester.

Guy came to check out why Nugget's room gets so hot and cold. We added on this room last year and it's looking as though there's very little/no insulation!!! Gah. That'll be a hefty pricetag but it's necessary. And unfortunately it means we can't start decorating the nursery until that's done. Boo. But at least we can do it and it's in motion now.

I really do have so much to be grateful for and I'm sorry I sometimes allow myself to dwell on the minor problems of a good life. You all have so much more going on right now, you are too good to me!

Here's a comparison collage I made from start of first, second, and third trimester.

Yes, you have a long torso, so baby bump will not be as noticeable! Gosh you are gorgeous! Jealous of that tight skinned belly too!

You look fantastic. I would not worry too much about where you are with weight. It looks like you have it under control.

Good thing you figured out what to do with the babies room now. My son's room in our old house was always way too cold and our daughters too hot. We never got it sorted out in 20 years of living in that house!
