Weight 117, calories 1190. Internet problems are improved, but my son has arranged for Comcast to make a service call and probably replace the router/modem this morning. I hope they don't come before DS is up as I still look rather Frankensteinish. In fact I'm a little discouraged this morning as it doesn't look much better than yesterday. I guess I'd like to see a breakthrough one morning when I can look in the mirror and see that I'm more or less back to normal. I HAVE to go out on public on Friday to take DH to clinical trial appointment so I'd really like to look human by then. One thing that bugs me a lot is that my lids are glued together in the mornings and I have to soak them in warm water compresses to get my eyes open. I have an appointment with PS this morning and maybe he can suggest an ointment which will keep them from getting glued together at night.
All gifts are wrapped and arrangements to get NYC DD here are made. Now we have to figure out how to get the other DD (with broken leg) here.
DH wrapped the only gift he is giving me here last night. It is a really small shoe box and there is plenty of wrapping paper but for some reason he used lots of small pieces - it is kind of a mess, but it is covered and he did it. I was reflecting back to prior holidays. Two years ago he did his own shopping for me. Last year I bought one item for him to give me (iPad), and he got a couple of others on his own. This year I bought both gifts (one in Florida and the shoes here), and he struggled in the wrapping.
Have a transformative Tuesday!

Oh Liz, seeing that decline must be hard! I remember my eyes taking a while to heal too. sunglasses were my friend! I only had uppers done, so I except yours will take a little longer!
Yesterday I was 146 something and today I am 148 something. True weight is probably somewhere in the middle!
Looking like we may need to cut some hours permanently at work. Everyone is afraid it will be them.
Didn't have time to read the boards yesterday, will try to do better today!
Paula
I went into CVS with sunglasses on. Of course I had to look over them to see labels. I'm sure people thought I'd been in some weird accident!

I am trying to keep up with your posts. So much going on ! Babies, family migrating home for the holidays, forging new relationships with steps, recovery from surgery, setting and planning for goals for 2018...
136.6 here. I admit to two glasses of very good semi-dry Riesling last night. Working through some rough spots with Atlas ! We selected the independent, confident puppy for a reason... and it will pay off. He is an explorer and climber, prefers Sadie's toys over his, and is very clever. Sadie was easy to crate train. Atlas not so much. I broke all of the "never take the baby to bed with you" rules last night, and "slept" near him. He is up and moving every hour. He likes to take a few steps, readjust position, and really stretch out again in a new spot. He doesn't like being too warm. I'm taking the sizing panel out of his crate today, to give him more space and options. He likes the blanket and the bare floor. He's only peed in a corner once. He loves the backyard and checking everything out... but 45 and rain today, so wet and muddy. Come on snow !
Getting together with DDs and my mother Saturday two hours away. Chuck will be daddy at home. Onward and upward !!

We had our Christmas dinner with my mom on Saturday. Took DD and baby. She was the hit of the party. My mom s middle name and Adalyn s middle name and my MIL s middle name and her mother s middle name are all the same. My mom really likes that they share that. DW brought a bouncy chair. I asked why she was bringing that because she was going to be held with all the family. And she was.
Fixtures came in for DS#1 and DIL pharmacy. I am to do the formica work. I started yesterday on the tops. I have also been dragging more logs from the burn pipe as we are still under a burn ban. We had a little rain but it soaked right up. I was thinking about making a sawmill. Stopped by the metal supplier to get prices. DS#1 said not to because he was planning on buying one. It will be much nicer than I was planning on building. Easier on my back for sure and his too. They have several acres of trees but is not planning on cutting any unless they get in the was of pasture plans. He has pictures of a tree that blue over that is 6ft at the base.
DD#1 is doing well and stretching into motherhood. We keep reminding her that baby s actions, hormones and frustration are all normal. They will find there course. She is breast feeding and planning on going back to work in a couple of weeks on the weekends. I will get my rocking time in on the weekends I am sure.
More later, David

Yesterday was my daddy's birthday. Poor December birthdays! We were all worn out. I tried to give him the merriest birthday but everything plus work plus making his birthday dinner = one tired prego.
My goal is to have shopping completed by tomorrow. We'll see. Tonight we have someone coming to check the insulation in what is to be the nursery. Because it gets freaking cold! We hope to start putting it together right after Christmas, so this is a necessary first step. Unfortunately it means no shopping tonight. But maybe we need that break. Methinks a cozy dinner, some more wrapping and maybe a Christmas movie is in order.
I think you should trust your instincts on having a break! I can't remember (sorry), but did you decide to travel or not over the holiday?

I can't remember if I posted an update. We decided to go MLK weekend. And I think we're actually gonna take the kids since they'll just miss that first Friday of college. That's like January 13th and will be my last trip I'm pretty certain. But my husband has that Friday off, so it actually means he misses LESS work, go figure! And we can take the whole family for the price of the two of us going New Years.
Plus, we're both giddy-excited about the prospect of being home over the entire holiday this year. Rather than trying to get things packed and going, we have that short in-between week and then can still kind of linger over Christmas/New Years!!!
