Weight: 178.2

28 weeks pregnant today! Up about 23lbs. My app tells me that baby is the size of an eggplant and 2 1/4 lbs. I know I could gain a great deal of weight in these last few weeks, but I'm still hoping for consistent 1lb./week, which would put me at 35lbs. on the nose--right within the reasonable recommended weight gain! But--I feel confident enough to just continue doing what I'm doing.

I scheduled a 4d ultrasound for next week as a little present to myself and family. None of them have gotten to go to the ultrasounds and the ones I had were very "medical."

David-I totally agree with you about the hopefulness of a child. I'm a Christian and being pregnant during this season of Advent has definitely made me reflect even more upon the promise and hope of children, one child in particular at this time of year.

My overdoing it finally caught up with me. I passed clean ou****ching Miracle on 34th Street last night. And I feel as though I could use another 8 hrs.! Today I get out of the office for a continuing education course. I don't mind them so much. Kind of looking forward to it. If I could've stayed in school and made a paycheck, I would've! Then DH and my parents and I are all going to see the new Star WArs! Can't wait!

BB, I'm so tickled to hear you sounding more comfy with your weight and eating. Yes, there must be a great synchronicity in being rather heavily pregnant at this Christmas season with so much HOPE in the air.

Merry Christmas!

It is a great time of year! I'm glad that you seem to have found some peace with the pregnancy weight. Continue to get more and more rest!

Good morning!

I'm back from my morning workout. DD and I will head down to Pike's Place market later this morning. It is raining but that's about what one would expect.

David, hold the baby! Some of the best pictures of my daughter's first days is with my dad, one arm holding her close to him and the other arm holding a paperback. They could sit like that for hours. Very sweet.

Also, I agree that a happiness drug would have a lot of utility, indication probably had nothing to do with why ecstasy didn't make it to market. I wish drugs worked better than what they do, had fewer unintended consequences, didn't require the patient to be a guinea pig, and never stopped working.

Cecily, hope you are resting well!

Peace and Hope,

Shel

Still holding at 137. Restoration and renewal ... what a difference word choice makes ! Restoration (returning to normal or healthy condition) and renewal (replacing or repair of something that is worn out, run-down, or broken) seem like synonyms, but the nuances are illustrative of much of my onion peeling. I used to feel broken.. worn out and run-down on good days ! So grateful I no longer look at myself that way !! There is nothing broken about any of us !! Ann- your post jogged that association. We can always count on you to choose good words... must be all of those crossword puzzles !!

Restoration and continued recovery to all of us !!

Weight 164.4, calories 205 (I beat Liz!)

I slept okay last night, so that's good. I need to get some walking in as I'm puffed up from the gas they fill you with and puffed from the saline drip too. And I really hate protein shakes! But if those are my only complaints, life is pretty good.

David, I love that you don't want to put the baby down! There is only so long you can carry them around tucked in your arms - I say take advantage of every minute! And it's good arm exercise to boot.

Ann, enjoy your party! Wishing you continued knee healing...

Liz, so glad the surgery went well! Hope you heal up fast you you can enjoy the results.

BB, have fun at Star Wars! I hear the critics loved it, which is rare these days.

Happy Friday to all...

Greetings Holiday Partiers

143.5. I am not doing well in the weight department. Accute case of apathy plus too many available chocolates and treats. I only eat a couple but thats too many for this 1300 cal maintainer.

Gallery duty today and other stuff -hence the late post. I did a bunch of shopping yesterday while waiting for car work. Went to the nursery plant store. Lots of cute cool and useful stuff.

Hey we received a gift yesterday. Only those in a small part of the midwest know about Runza sandwiches. They are ground beef and cabbage and onions baked inside a chunk of bread dough. So good. Anyway, my brother and sil sent us two dozen frozen packed in dry ice. Yummy. Dinner last night which is probably why I am up in weight. And we put the dry ice in the sink with water and our whole kitchen looked like a disco.

Finally got to see pic of Adalyn. So adorable. Dave I don't blame you for wanting to hold her non stop. do it as someday she will be too big. No substitute for grandpa time.

Surgery survivors hope you are doing well. Liz I wanted my eyelids done until I lost weight. Then it fixed itself. But I am a prune face and need a face lift. My medical mission is to go see the hand doctor. But its in Marin county and DH can't drive well due to cataract surgery.

Hey Shel, I have fond memories of the Pike Place Market. Its like a museum of good healthy food.

Take care all. More thoughts tomorrow. Diane S
