Thanks! I feel pretty good. TMI, full of gas, but otherwise good.

I'm glad you didn't die! ;) And I hope someone has already given you something to drink or ice to suck on.

I'm also very interested to find out how successful your hernia repair was. How long will it be before you can assess that?

I'm back to the 1 teeny medicine cup that holds 20ml over an hour. Next hour I get 2. Liquids only through the weekend then soft foods through to ruining Christmas dinner. GRRRR.

I certainly hope it worked. He said I just need to be really careful, eat small, well chewed bites and not vomit over the next several weeks so it can heal in place. Beyond going off PPIs and seeing if I still have reflux, I guess they could do an upper GI to check?

Hey Cecily, glad you made it through. I swear by lip gloss post surgery. I bet you feel much better in 48 hours. Meanwhile, sleep all you can and drink what you are allowed to. Curses on liquids for christmas, but egg nog is a liquid. Ditto runny ice cream. Just freeze a christmas dinner and eat it in a month or too. Take care. Diane

That's exactly what I was thinking! We have Prime Rib for Christmas, so I'm totally freezing a good hunk for myself for later. I'll be soft fooding it, so potatoes and ice cream might just do the carby trick. Egg nog is good too!

I think post op tongue is the worst. It is even worse than when your cPap blows your mouth dry. Glad you made it. I agree, hospitals are no place to rest.

147 OTD, I remember when Diane O and Shel and I all hovered around the same weight. Perhaps I will get back down to the more comfortable 130's and even high 120's again! Tis not my season right now!

Off to keep those pounds on (Holiday Christmas lunch at work). My co-workers are great, very supportive and like a second family to me, so I of course want to join in on the celebration!

Wt 237 holding. Ice cream on travel days and there have been quite a few travel days lately. I held off eating at night long enough to get a fasting lab yesterday for my yearly Bariatric labs. We are a little late this year. Supposed to be September. Changed to a new PCP. I am being referred out to pain management. I knew it was coming. Political medicine. Lots of people die from heroine overdose and they have to send all medically managed chronic pain patient to a specialist. Pain specialists around here normally treat you like drug seekers. And there caseloads are very heavy. While there may be a continuous opiate withdrawal there is also continued pain. With BP medications as the daily dose runs the course your blood pressures increase. You are going through medication withdrawal. No street drug abuse to lower blood pressure. No political medical management. Rant over.

Christmas celebrations at my Mother's this Saturday. I am to cook pecan pie and mashed potatoes. I will probably just eat nuts and yogurt.

Exercise is rocking the grand baby. I never thought my arms could be sore from that. A good kind of sore.

More Later, David
