Yesterday's 7 V/Fs came from black beans, green/yellow/red peppers, avocado, chard/spinach/kale, bamboo shoots, peppers, and blueberries

Yesterday morning I ran errands and took it easy in the afternoon with a nice nap, reading the second Galbraith/Rowling mystery, and fika/crosswords and ****tail hour with hubby.

I didn't do any actual exercise, but it's already tomorrow and, as Scarlett said, "Tomorrow is another day."

The supermoon here is absolutely GORGEOUS! If tonight is cloudy, as predicted, we won't get to see it at its biggest. But boy, is it already ginormous and so very bright!

The moon looks beautiful, Ann. That shot made me think about moonlight cross country skiing. Paula..I can't imagine what you are going through..and you're working on cards. Wow ! Liz..so sorry about your fur baby.

I went from 139 to 142.8 overnight. Can't be lasting, but still a shock. I'll pound the water today, and may need to do the big leg wrap. We ended up putting up our artificial tree yesterday, hearing stories about shortages and infestations in fresh trees. Trees and kissing balls were sold on every corner at home...very difficult to find here. $59 for tiny kissing balls. I can't do it !

I downloaded an audible book for my long drive to visit mom tomorrow.

Stay he course, my friends !

Weight 116, calories 1082.

You are both up early on a weekend. I've been sleeping until 6:30 or 7, which is probably where I will stay. I have to send DH back to bed most mornings until 8:30 so he can get his 12+ hours of sleep (he gets up earlier sometimes because it is light and I am up).

As most of you saw on FB, our goofy, loving beagle Duchess had to be euthanized yesterday at age 14. She had a heart condition, idiopathic vestibular disease and her kidneys were a little wonky. But what did her in was eating broken glass. She likely was having intestinal bleeding based on her symptoms and extraordinary cir****tances (such as surgery) were not appropriate. DS had to handle this alone and I feel terrible about that. He called me at 11 on Friday night after he realized what had happened and numerous times during the night. Both our kids are terribly upset of course as are we. DH who was never very fond of dogs in the past had grown to love her a lot the last few years as she became his walking companion. He was the one who would throw her "cows" to her (they were really lambs, but she only understood one word for stuffed toys based on her first one). The vet told DS to pay special attention to Chiquita, taking her for extra walks as she could succumb to depression. They were good pals over the years and Chiquita is 16 now.

Have a satisfying Sunday.

Our little dog and our boxer were best of friends and when the boxer passed the little dog would just sit in the dirt of the outside kennel. Our DD#1 moved into an apartment so we got her pit bull back. These 2 have now become friends. Sleeping on each other and starting to play in the yard. Barking at coyotes at night together. All that to say doggie depression is so real. If it had gone on much longer we would have gotten something for it.

Yes, I guess it is like husband and wife. Chiquita is a *****ly little thing at best, but they did enjoy being together (walks, watching EVERYTHING through the windows, barking together - one would start and the other would come running and join in). I hope it will help when we get home next week (though it will be hard for us to be back at the house without Duchess).

I am sorry for your loss, so sorry.

I agree with doggie depression. When my 15 year Mindy passed, 16 year old Annie rant from one side yard to the other side yard, barking and looking, looking and barking, for days. I sat down and talked to her about it. I don't think I did it right, tho. We all grieved for sure.

The moon was beautiful this morning too. I didn't see it last night but DW took some pics.

I'm going to mix in a green shake with my N&Y for a while. I hope to see a drop on the scales. They fill me up, last me a while and I'm sure they are better for me.

For exercise I am finishing the last room in the shop. It has 3/4 plywood on the walls and ceiling then 2 layers of 26 gage steel and then another layer of 3/4 plywood. Everything is glued and screwed. It will be our storm room. It won't be too much longer before storm season is back around here. I almost have the steel layers complete. The idea was taken from the FEMA website.

DD#1 was over yesterday. She is about ready to deliver. The baby was very active and I felt her. It was like she was knocking on the inside as if to say she is about ready to come out to see the world. Next Doctor appt is Monday.

More later, David

What a great storm room! Every house of my childhood had a storm cellar and it still gives me pause that my current house doesn't have one. My husband (a Seattle native) had never heard of one til we visited my brother's Master Root Cellar in Minnesota.

Now that I think about it, I wish you could meet my brother Mike.....lots of terrific similarities between you two, from being a jack of all trades to hooting. I always say that if there is an apocalypse, I plan to make my way to Mike's and then I will be his willing laborer. Many mountains between here in MN, I better get in shape.

Too fun about the baby!!!!! Knocking on the door for the baby whisperer!
