Yesterday's 7 V/Fs came from an apple, white potatoes (more clam chowder), avocado, black beans, peppers, onions, and LOTS of black seedless table grapes!
Hubby was sick yesterday with a brutal intestinal bug, but he's much better this morning. However, I didn't get enough sleep due to keeping an eye on him.
Last night I finished reading The Cuckoo's Calling by Robert Galbraith (JK Rowling's pen name for her mystery series); it's a detective/mystery and a real page-turner. I recommend it if you're looking for well-written reading entertainment. Thus far, there are two other books in the series, and the BBC has already turned all three books into a television series.

Yesterday was spent wrapping Christmas presents, updating people on the news of Ben and just spending some time with my love. We even when out for a dinner date last night as all the kids were off and about with their various activities (work for the older 2 and scout activity for the youngest one).
Some house cleaning if I get motivated enough to do it and a little shopping (gift exchange - nothing fun!) on tap for today. Ben teaches today. We think we might plan a trip to see his family in West Virginia the week between Christmas and New Year's if he isn't in the throws of some treatment that will make that impossible.
Thank you all again for all of your kind words and support.
I would like to send my family here our annual Christmas card. Could you please PM me or FB message me if we are FB friends your mailing addresses? My FB name is Paula Miller Arbaugh.
Love you all!
Paula, I'm thinking of you and yours much these last few days. I think your plans and activities sound so right. Hugs, hugs, hugs!

Feeling so sad today. Paula's news makes me remember when we reached the same point with eldest DD. She was so brave and ready in the end, so faith and prayers work.
DS called at 11 last might because our 14 year old beagle ingested broken glass. He is expecting her to pass from it, but she is still there this morning so he will call the vet. He slept with her last night and she did ok. Obviously there won't be any extraordinary measures here as she is in early heart failure, but all three of us (DS, DD, and I) spent the night thinking that she might be passing. Eldest DD helped pick her out the year before she died, so that connection is part of our feelings.
Have a sobering Saturday.

Hey there Saturday Peeps,
Paula's news makes me want to suffocate my loved ones, in the nicest way possible, of course. And Liz, poor Buster is getting some extra love this morning, too, in honor of your pup.
I watched myself overeat healthy foods yesterday and they slid with no problem. I didn't track but would estimate about 2500 calories. (If I look in the mirror I am pretty sure Nuts and Yogurt would be looking back at me) Over and done and don't feel like doing it today.
Early yesterday, I was asked to do a chart review on a patient for one particular piece of information that wasn't digitized so I literally read almost the whole chart. Normally I "stay out of the pool" when I read charts but got sucked into this one and am still bothered by it today. People and drugs don't mix well. Heart broken mothers looking for miracles make me cry.
Paula, of course I am thinking about you and family today. Years ago, a friend of mine walked that same path with her husband. She described a unique, surreal experience where "even the colors are different." Scary for sure, but layered with love, too. Her DH joined a support group of other patients with similar dx's. My friend was surprised to find out how much that group helped her, too. Just a thought...
Looks like maybe just 20% chance of rain for tomorrow? What is this, the desert? (We had 26 days of rain in Nov but who's counting). It is time to get back to the mountains. I am overdue for a nature bath.
Peace and Hope,
Shel

Wt still up. Calories averaging 1600. I was hoping after the work on the house that everything would level back out. Every time I try to cutback on intake I find myself grazing more. I ate fried catfish yesterday and nearly made myself sick on 2 pcs. I think from the grease. I was out of yogurt and went to nearby town to buy some more. Lost a key to my airstream (stressed) and felt bad from a cold or something the rest of the day and night. Tried to order a key blank and they are on back order. I don't really know why we even lock it. The only people that com here are lost or going to the cemetery at the end of the road.
Ann the bug is going around.

Thanks, David. Yes, I found out today that "that bug" is indeed going around.
BTW, hubby is feeling good today and eating better. It seems it was a 24-hour nastiness.

Greetings Faithful Ones
141.5 after an evening of eating crackers and butter. I don't know what got in to me but I just couldn't stop. I did make super lime chicken and green beans which was great but the crackers did me in. Someone left a couple boxes here at Halloween and I am going to have to remove them.
Lately I have felt kind of achey and sore a lot - leg pain in upper thighs and hips. I think its stiffness from not moving enough. Gotta get at it - Mother Nature is sending me a message.
We took Tesla the terror to the groomers for nail clipping. She is so wild I can't do it. I warned them and they muzzled her and she was just fine. Then I let her snoop around the store. I paid them double for combat pay.
I need to do gallery checks this morning. Everyone wants their money. The big push is on for Christmas sales.
Ann thanks for the book references. I need to get back to reading and put the iPad scrabble away. Anyone do words with friends? And I hope your DH feels better.
Paula, we are all thinking of you and hoping you can have some good family times. I admire you for being industrious and busy but hope you can get some time off.
Those of you fighting colds, my sympathies. Around here people get the "Humboldt Crud" which is a cold that drags on and on. Crossing fingers that I avoid it.
Lets all eat healthy to stay healthy.
