I went for my pre-op appointment yesterday and it seems my thyroid is overactive again which may explain why it's still so easy for me to lose while upping my calories. My heart rate was 200 after walking to the exam room and 125 after sitting for 20 minutes. Funny thing - I couldn't feel it at all. And my TSH thyroid blood test was super low. He said unless my endocrinologist changes my meds and gets my heart rate down there was no way the anesthesiologist would sign off on surgery. So I emailed her (fastest way to get to her) and hope to hear from her today. Tricky little gland.
The cold has waned a bit so I'm going on the hike for my friend's birthday today. I'll be filling my pack with Kleenex. Just got dressed and put on a pair of size 10 hiking pants I bought 4 years ago that I never fit into. Amazing.
Aside from that my world is quiet...
Amazing what a malfunctioning thyroid can cause. DH has the opposite problem I think (hypothyroidism).

Greetings All
Still at 141. I made steak last night and it was too much so dogs had a small feast. Fresh green beans too. Liz, the fresh fish sounds so good as does the summery warmth. Its not raining here today but it will be back.
Today I have kind of a bad case of "monkey mind" - lots of disjointed thoughts and lack of focus. I need to just make a list of chores and work through it. None of it is very fun but I always feel better when something is accomplished.
I can't stop thinking of Paula and her difficult news. Another reminder of how special you all are as are the other people in our lives.
More later. Diane S
I stopped in to read and check in while sitting down to watch the 11 o'clock news. Very sobering news. I'm sad. I think about Paula and Ben's two younger boys. Both still so young and in need of Ben's support - especially son #2.
I have nothing really, except to say I am feeling terribly grateful for all I have.
Praying for little daily miracles in Paula's house!
