Weight 117, calories 868. I hate the way that weight takes a couple of days to show up sometimes. We are eating leftovers at home today, so what goes in my mouth is a little better controlled (and the darn chocolate chip cookies are in the freezer now which helps though I don't know why).
I can't believe it is the month of Christmas already. It doesn't seem real when in a warm climate like this, because it feels like we are on a "summer" vacation. Maybe it will be different when we return home in 10 days to New England.
I'm waiting for Comcast to come as the cable connection to the TV still doesn't seem to work and we are adding a new connection in SIL's room for when she returns (she flew home last night for her last 3 weeks of work before retirement). We explored an area on the way to the airport yesterday where there were all sorts of artist shops and went to a great restaurant on a canal recommended by one of the people in the shops. All super fresh fish!
Have a fantastic Friday!

We are home from Mayo - no exploratory surgery. We met with the second surgeon yesterday and he reviewed Wednesday's PET scan with us. It looks like there is spread to lymph nodes around the aorta and pancreas, there is a tumor on the opposite site of his belly from where the confirmed recurrence is and there is a spot on his leg. We will go back next Friday to confirm with a biopsy of at least one of the areas and meet with medical oncology to discuss any palliative care chemotherapy that might be recommended. There won't be a cure in our future. Our hearts are heavy but our faith is strong. The boys took the news as good as to be expected. The road forward will not be an easy one, but we will navigate it to the best of our abilities. I took today off work as did Ben to make those hard phone calls and let it all sink in a little bit more before we have to deal with co-workers and patients/students. I appreciate the support all of you have shown us. It means the world!
