Weight 117, calories 1216. I'd rather that my weight was in the bottom of my range at 115 before Thanksgiving dinner, but not bad since I think I may still need a "clean-out".

We arrived in Florida just after 5:30, after driving 9 hours yesterday. I immediately went to the food store while DH cleaned counters. Two trips to the store were needed ultimately as we were out of paper towels and want to clean today (most stores are closed today).

I had a hard time falling asleep so ended up cleaning the main room of the condo in the middle of the night (went back to bed around 4, so had about 3 hours of sleep). I am loving my coffee in my mermaid cup this morning!

Cecily, I'm glad you are able to assess your father in person. You sure had a rough travel day - I can't even imagine how disturbing that must have been. I also can't believe the identity thieves are still getting into things!

Paula, it sounds from your Caring Bridge Post that you are finally getting to the right people. I do pray that the insurance company doesn't continue to make this difficult as that is the last thing you need at this point.

Thank you for reminding us of the serenity prayer, Devon. We ALL need to remember that.

Nice to hear from you Joey! I'm glad you had a good weekend trip!

Diane, you always inspire us. You have been so successful in so many ways!

And Ocean Diane: I brought the picture to put up here in Florida to remind us of our beautiful Cape Cod (it really is much prettier than Florida).

In the spirit of Thanksgiving: Thank you all for being my friends and being so supportive of one another. Have a Thankful Thanksgiving Thursday!

Happy Thanksgiving!

I appreciate this board so much! Thank you to each and every one of you!

Joey! So nice to see your post!. That sounded like an epic road trip.

I cooked and cleaned and drank a lot of coffee yesterday. Wish you were closer so that I could share a pumpkin cookie (or two) with you to bolster your vegetable count. It is even topped with a heart healthy pecan.

The best part of yesterday was that I was busy from 5am to 11pm and my body didn't hurt. So different from my MO days. Much, much gratitude.

I am still am not feeling holiday food triggered nor in-the-kitchen-all-day triggered. Very strange. Don't get me wrong, I am my usual dysfunctional self and made less than stellar food choices just before bed but calories for the day were ok.

Whoa, gotta run so I am not late for gym. Hoping to yoga, too.

Peace and hope,

Shel

Happy Thanksgiving my dear friends!

So very thankful to have each and every one of you in my life. It looks like most of you saw Ben's Caring Bridge so you already know that the Mayo appointment went at least okay. We have a referral to start getting things done!

Today I am going to focus on family and giving thanks to my Lord! Food prep will start a little later as DS#1 requested an evening meal instead of our usual Thanksgiving "lupper" around 2 or so in the afternoon.

May have to do some on-line shopping. No Black Friday for me!

Love and hugs to you all!

LOL! After yesterday's oh-so-self-aware "Bon appètit!" essay, I went in the other direction last night. The stats above say it all. Aaaahhh, humility. Honestly, you just have to laugh at yourself sometimes.

Yesterday's 8 servings of V/Fs came from pink grapefruit, raw baby carrots, romaine, raw cherry tomatoes, chard and spinach, red/yellow peppers, yams, black beans, and fresh pineapple. Still loving those meat/veggie bowls for dinner. Currently, they're my Nuts & Yogurt.

Last night, after hubby had a rough afternoon of chills and exhaustion, I couldn't go to sleep and watched the movie, "Our Souls at Night" (Fonda and Redford). It was OK, but I didn't enjoy it as much as some friends have reported they did. I enjoyed so much more the Joan Didion documentary by her nephew, Griffin Dunne, which I saw a week or so ago.

And because I was up late I succumbed to nighttime nibbles - seed crackers, cheese, and chocolate. And this the night before Thanksgiving. Because Thanksgiving? LOL! Back to weight maintenance school I go.

I hope everyone has a good Thanksgiving Day in whatever form that works for you. We're going to a sister's house. She's doing most of the cooking, so yea!

Today's theme: Humility Turkey. With a big ole side of LOL!

Greetings Thankful Ones

140.5 still. I guess I am grateful its not worse.

Love hearing your plans for the day. I used to enjoy cooking for the holidays but now I am glad to go to someone else's house. I will bring cauliflower as a side.

Liz you are so industrious. The last thing I would do if I couldn't sleep is clean. I drink hot milk and watch bad tv. Hope you have many fun relaxing days in Florida.

Have a great "supper" Paula. You deserve some down time. Wishing you the best in the insurance wars.

It was great to hear from you Joey. The football road trip sounds like fun even with all the driving. Wishing you some holiday peace.

Shel what were you doing for 18 hours of busy? Its so great you are able to keep on truckin' all day long. Our former selves indeed could have done no such thing.

Hey Ann, which brands of the "bowls" are best? It sounds appealing as my desire to cook decreases. We did have steak last night with cherry tomatoes. Most satisfying.

Well, off to dust off my holiday sweater. It was a very expensive one I got years ago and outgrew. Now I wear it on Thanksgiving and Christmas. My friends probably think I have no other clothes. Maybe I will get out the mink coat though it weighs a ton and its not even cold here.

BB, thinking of you and cooking smells. Nothing like the scent of a roasting turkey. Vegetarians are missing out!

Have a great holiday all. Diane S

You live in tree hugger country. I would not wear the mink, if I were you! LOL

Indeed I do. I could wear it to these friends but not out on the town! dS

I really like the Healthy Choice Power Bowls -- faves are the Korean Inspired Beef Power Bowl and the Cuban Inspired Pork Power Bowl. Good stuff. Calories, protein, and other macros are good.

Good to know - these would be good to have in the freezer for nights when I don't want to cook (which is most nights), and there are no leftovers from previous cooking.
