Weight 118, calories 853. Hovering at the top of my range which I don't like, but I should be able to eat on plan for the next week which hopefully will drop it down.

Congratulations on your 8 year surgiversary Diane! I hope I can be as successful in the long run as you have been. I do like the perspective of this group on taking care of ourselves and not considering anything necessarily evil. I do have problems with some things being around at times (hence the "evil" label), but being able to eat anything in moderation does resonate with me. I actually do that with most things, but some days I just can't have the high calorie stuff around.

Paula, if you are seeing this, best of luck at Mayo!

BB: 6 months already! It seems like just yesterday that you were telling us you were pregnant. I think you are right on track in your pregnancy with weight - those gudidelines are just averages. Babies don't gain weight in a straight line.

Cecily, I hope that the identity theft is controlled now. What a pain (and a real fear of mine). I've had a few scattered unauthorized charges in the past and get a new credit card when that happens, but nothing like what you are dealing with.

Today and tomorrow we are down to serious packing. I want lots of clothes, but need to think about the fact that they are probably being sent back home in boxes at the end of our winter "vacation". Today I'll probably concentrate on reviewing DH's packing. He had it laid out on the bed in the spare bedroom as I told him to, but then he put it in the box's before I could review it, so I need to unpack/repack. We also need to get the remainder of the deck furniture stowed away.

Have a philharmonic Friday!

Wt up. sad but true. Crackers, and other assorted junk foods have found the way into my diet via construction. Working solid for the past 3 weeks except for a 3 day return home to the woods. Our house is mostly done. Needs a good cleaning. Painted the entire house at least once. Yesterday DW and DD put eyes on the paint job to see where I painted with a dry brush. A few touch ups and done. While I was there I had the most strange experience. I normally sleep with a fan or something for noise. I did not take anything because it was going to be a short stay. Several nights I heard people talking and trying to get into the house. As soon as I was up and fully awake the noise stopped. Finally one night I just remained still... It was my stomach. It did sound like talking and it was loud. As soon as I stood up it quit. So glad the voices are in my stomach and not in my head. LOL. Have a good day. I am going to try to do nothing. David

Weight 168.8, calories under 1500

I'm not sure about my calories because of the party last night, but I think I did pretty well. And we had a great time! 5 knitters out of 9 people! Amazing for us...

Today is my 3rd run to the car dealership service dept in a week. First was routine service, 2nd was a nail in the tire, today my seat controls stopped working. Enough! Later it's movies and dinner at Chili's with my friends to see the Jane Goodall movie.

I signed up for the oil painting class! Starts Jan 17.

Have a great Friday!

I just remembered my last maintenance with my old dealer (I changed after this)! I brought the car in for regular service and it needed new tires, which I agreed to. Much money and a day later, the car came back and it snowed just a bit that day. The car was slipping and sliding all over the place! I looked closely at the tires and they were the OLD ones (even though I had paid an arm and a leg for 4 new run-flat tires). I called and they sent someone out to drop off a loaner car and took mine back to put the tires on. It showed up a day later with the tires. The following day I drove it to work. On my way home a light came on which looked like a half-full container, then a yellow thermometer picture which almost immediately turned red and the engine shut off. I was on the highway so I had to glide to the side of the road. I immediately called the dealer, explained what happened and he said it shut off because of overheating to protect the engine and if I let it sit for a bit I should be able to start it back up and make it to the dealership (I was relatively close at this point). When I got there, I mentioned that there was some blue liquid spiriting onto my windshield at one point. They gave me another loaner car and kept it for a couple of days to check it out. What had happened was that when they put the tires on the second time, they re-checked the fluids and the guy left the cap off of the radiator! I only went back once for a full detailing which they gave me for free because of all this.

Greetings Maintenance Gurus

141 today. Not where I wanted to be on my 8 year anniversary but 100 plus pounds less than my top weight so its all good. Gallery duty today so I will spend time reflecting on the future and not looking at the fudge sign. Yesterday I had a bad case of the "nibbles" and kept wanting bites of cheese and such. Not good. Must move more today. Nothing much profound today except I am so glad I did this and so do not miss the health issues I have left behind. I have new challenges that I did not anticipate but am so much better off without that weight.

DH continues to improve on the vision front but I still don't think he will be able to drive anytime soon. Fortunately he doesn't want to go out much. I get antsy if I am home all day and look for reasons to get out.

Chicken and asparagus last night. Lentil soup tonight. The sun is out and here's hoping it stays out.

Good to hear from you Dave. A day of doing nothing feeds the soul. Funny about the talking stomach. I thought you were going to say there were ghosts in the house!

Hey all, check out Kairk's picture on yesterdays thread. Its wonderful.

I am grateful for this little family and look forward to many more years of maintenance with you all. Best wishes to all in the medical department with families. Everything is easier without 100 extra pounds. Diane S
