Weight 116.5, calories 968.

I am leaving for work in a couple of hours for the last time to turn everything in and have lunch with my team. Tomorrow I have to get down to the business of packing for Florida (first I have to make my packing list).

Not much more time this morning, so I'll catch up later.

Have a miraculous Monday!

Congratulations, Liz, on your retirement.

What a big damn deal that is! It's going to be fun to watch as you realize more fully that you never again have to log on to your work computer or go into the office or WFH ever again!

I enjoyed my little 2.5 mile walk yesterday. Made me want to do a lot more walking when the weather is good this winter. As I told Shel when she came to see us in Vancouver in August, I have a fantasy trekking bucket list: New Zealand, Bhutan, the Swiss Alps (have never done any hiking there), and the Appalachians (have also never hiked there). See what a little walk around a country club does for me? Makes me want to go trekking around the world. LOL!

Yesterday's 8 V/Fs came from carrots, cherry tomatoes, fresh pineapple (I'm NEVER buying canned pineapple again!), bamboo shoots, chard, kale, mushrooms, chiles, and blueberries.

This week hubby will be getting a treatment schedule planned with his oncologist. Although he's dreading chemo, he's been trying to get himself psyched up. He has started keeping a journal of how he feels physically and emotionally. He and I are both writers, and I think this could help him process his thoughts and feelings. I also offered to let him take my next few appointments with my therapist, who would surely agree to do so, and hubby didn't reject the idea.

Otherwise, it's a regular week for me of yoga, aquarobics and some walking. I have a book club meeting on Thursday and a charity auction/luncheon on Friday. My "daily" meditations have become sporadic, and I'd like to meditate daily again. So those are my plans for the week.

Today's theme is from Jon Kabat-Zinn: "The little things? The little moments? They aren't little."

Have a good week, everyone!

I routinely look up Bhutan treks - it is all a matter of priorities, right? But, Appalachians, that is practically free! That is a part of the US I haven't been to and just a few months ago was doing a bit of research on it. hmmmmm

This is the second experience with chemo? Going in eyes wide open is a different experience. I'm glad (and not surprised) that the both of you are thinking of ways to build support before the first dose.

I love your many themes!

Shel ... this is THIRD chemo. And yes, very different eyes this time.

And yes, the Appalachias -- practically free. :)

Hoping the treatment plan will help ease yours and DH's minds. I know that even (especially?) with not-so-fun things I like to have a plan and have some semblance of control.

I also think the journaling is a great idea. I find writing to be very therapeutic. My rambles on here are helpful to me at the very least!

Ha! I almost made a comment earlier that I know a lot of people find enormous value in journaling but I don't.

Then I thought about my rambles on here and promptly deleted that sentence.

147.2. I kind of thought that last loss was too good to be true and that proved to be the case this morning.

I'm off to work soon and Ben will be calling Mayo to try and expedite an appointment there. I hope he has good luck!

It is a chili day today, both in the sense of temps and what's for dinner!

My fruits and veggies yesterday came from homemade apple crisp, Autumn Squash soup from Panera and the egg and veggie stuffed portabellas that I think Diane O shared with us. They were very good but the largest portabella's our store had were about 3 - 4 inches wide and it was difficult to scoop out the insides without the sides caving in! Flavor was wonderful - I stuffed with egg, tri-colored peppers, green onions, portabella mushroom guts, ham and co-jack cheese.

Have a Manic Monday!

I love that Autumn Squash soup, don't you? I even got DH to eat it! I was hosting my mahjong group and one is vegetarian so I just served that soup (picked it up from Sam's) and grilled cheese sandwiches (secret ingredient: thinly spread pepper jelly on one slice of the bread). Not the healthiest high-protein meal but dang it was good!
