Drove back to the airstream in the woods. Wt on my scales is 230 so my mom s scales are light. To get the work done alcohol is involved in pain control. At this point to not gain is a win.
We have a "ladybug" infestation. These asian beetles are flocking to us by the thousands. The inside of the shop roof is covered with them. We have been using the vacuum cleaner to keep them out of the inside of the airstream. Also an assortment of wasps has moved into the shop. They act drunk and then they go to the window and have a collision with a fly swatter. Moving to the woods so far we have encountered a tick season a fly and gnat season and now an asian beetle season. We have all of these issues at our house but this is a magnitude x30.
I worked for 2 weeks on the house and I am beat. I will relax here a day or so then go back. It needs another week and then the Heating/AC install to be ordered. It can be installed in a day it is just getting it here. You can get anything online these days. With the install of the central heat that will make the house finished. 13 years of living in a construction zone. With months of no progress because of depression. Carpenters houses are never done until they sell. We have entertained the idea of renting or selling. As our first attempt at renting did not fair so well I am leaning toward selling. I owner finance / priced it to our kids but they can't afford the land and shop added into the price of a small house. The land adds 36K. It is right on the highway and you can sell anything by sticking it out on the road.
More later, David

Good Morning All ! Don't know what happened to post from yesterday. Thursday evening, we headed to Albany for an early Friday Dr. Appointment for Chuck. We fed and pottied Sadie before we left, and made arrangements for an older woman to love her up and let her out "before bed", and potty and breakfast in the morning. We returned home just after noon, and all was fine. We received a text at 5 PM, with apologies that she had never made it, due to a family emergency. POOR Sadie ! We didn't hire a neighbor teen, out of concern for level of responsibility. There are very few emergencies that rise to the level of totally neglecting a beloved family member, with no notification and opportunity to make alternate arrangements.
Chuck's sister is visiting. She had gastric bypass nine years ago and has regained it all, and then some. Additionally, she is now an alcoholic. She has remarked about how good I am about not drinking during and after meals, and my portion control. She is just beginning to see the correlation between these behaviors, and my ability to maintain. She consumed twice the lunch Chuck and I shared. I provide information and "tips" but her head hasn't made the healthy shift.
Ann, Liz, Shel...pictures are so awesome ! I'd walk with any of you in a heart beat! Forgot to turn back our clocks, so as Diane would say, off to fortify before I do that. Enjoy your extra hour !!

Yesterday's 8 V/F servings came from another Honeycrisp apple, avocado, romaine lettuce, salsa, cherry tomatoes, water chestnuts, broccoli, carrots, and strawberries.
We both had another good night of sleep. By the way, I like the time change, because hubby and I both leave the house very early for exercise classes. These past few weeks, that meant we often drove to town in the dark and fog. For those of you who don't like DST, you have to put up with it for only four months, until March 11. :)
This morning's "Beaver Moon" is beautiful. If you're interested, here's a link to the names of all the full moons of the year: http://www.businessinsider.com/what-is-beaver-moon-name-mean ing-2017-11
I don't think we have any fog this morning, but it's a muggy 67 degrees out there. I plan to do a 3-mile walk this morning in town. Otherwise, it'll be a lazy day. Am planning to grill sweet peppers and mushrooms today to mix with my lunches the next few days.
I'm still trying to find my new maintenance calorie budget. This is very strange territory for me -- having to eat more calories three years post-op NOT to lose any more weight is just weird! And it takes considerable planning, since the sleeve restriction is definitely still strong. I'm also aware that this gift of higher metabolism appeared rather suddenly and might just as quickly disappear, so I'm NOT assuming this change will be permanent.
David, I'm very sorry to hear you're in pain. I hope you get the house finished and sold very soon! Diane, that's bizarre that your neighbor deserted Sadie -- bummer!
Love hearing from everyone about your babies, children, doggies, spouses, food, recipes, exercise, retirement and vacation plans. And about the tough stuff, too, which none of us can escape. It's funny how the good stuff and the tough stuff often show up at the same time. What a speckled thing life is.
Today's theme (quoting a friend's stepmother): "Life is full of a number of things."

Weight 116.4, calories 1523. I'm back in the middle of the range after good bathroom time. Seeing numbers over 118 freaked me a bit because I hadn't gone there for about a year.
Yes the tough and the positive do often seem happen together. It seems that news of someone's death often seems to be coupled by news elsewhere of birth, so maybe it is all a balance? I hope the Asian beetle invasion calms down soon. Would you be sad to sell the house, David? And poor Sadie! My doggies can now make do on bathroom issues with pads all over the place, but they sure need food, water, and human contact. They have to go so frequently the pee pads are a necessity or we would never get out.
Speaking of dogs, I probably mentioned that we decided not to take them to Florida because we don't think they would survive the trip due to heart and anxiety issues. So DS is going to stay at the house with them. But he is going to stay in Paris for 3 weeks in January/February at the house of a chef he knows (great opportunity - flight only $550, and no housing costs). So BIL is going to stay with the dogs while DS is gone. He now lives here in our town and he can save on utilities at his place while getting better access to TV channels here.
We thought we were having a relatively quiet weekend and not going out much other than Friday night when we went out with my childhood friends. We ended up going to dinner at another friends last night (used to live in our central mass town, now live here), AND we are meeting a third set of friends from central mass for lunch today. Add that to dinner out with work tomorrow night and that is 4 days in a row to a restaurant. Good thing I know how to eat at them - but LOTS of leftovers!
Have a sociable Sunday!
